ClipStudio Paint - Change Brush Size [Easy]

Changing brush size in apps like ProCreate is easy but ClipStudio is a full on desktop app so it's buried in menus and toolbars. This handy shortcut makes it much easier and faster to do when drawing!

Thanks for the tip, however it doesn't seem to work for the eraser size. Any idea how I could adjust it more easily?

It might depend on which eraser tool you have selected. Is it an eraser where the size is adjustable? It works for me.

Can you hold down ctrl and scroll with the mouse wheel to make the cursor small or big is all I want to know. I so place show me how or tell me how to set it up. I getting really frustrated because I need to get this job done and no one will give me this answer.

Thank you for this! I was wondering, how do you get the foreground/background/transparency picker to show up while your side menu is collapsed? I'm also on a touch screen, so all the key shortcuts won't work for me.

Excellent question! I’d never considered it. You want “Command bar settings->Options->Drawing Color->Switch drawing color and transparent color”

CSP needs to improve its gesture controls and add more finger gesture options. Three finger drag up/down should change brush size and/or be remappable to anything you want. Three finger drag left/right should change opacity or again anything else. Single finger double-tap isn't even in the gesture options, and it's a basic tablet function in other art programs. It would be nice to be able to flip canvas with it, for instance.
The workflow in CSP is a burden because of the amount of sub menus, and sub-sub-menus that all have their own icon. Yes, you can create your own workspace and reduce the "clutter" of icons you might not use very much, but that still doesn't improve the workflow. Much better would be to make more functions available through gestures and to have the icons themselves be interactive in an analog way: tap the brush size icon and drag off of it to adjust its variable on the fly, rather than by digital increments.
Lots of ways to make it work better for tablet artists, but it remains closer to a Windows port than a program intentionally designed for Android/iOS.

How do you bring the menu back if you have accidentally gotten rid of it

Which menu? The command bar shortcuts? Or the main file menu? You’re probably looking for the three lines in the top left corner, then select Window->Show Menu Bar

What about the opacity of brush?

I don’t think there’s a command bar button for opacity but you could duplicate the tools you use and set them to varying opacities. Then, using “Options->Sub tool palette-> switch to next sub tool” in command bar settings you could easily switch between the different opacity set brushes.
