  • Finally something in 1:35 scale! It hasn't been that long has it... Either way, this VK4502(p) Vorne from Hobby Boss is a pretty good kit. Pretty fun to put together... It didn't require too much by the way of clean up, though there were some fiddly bits and at least one part I had to trim down... It wasn't too challenging, but it might not be for the beginner... unless you really want to start your modelling career with it... I'm not the hobby boss of you... HA HA HA... Sorry...
It took me about 650 years, but I painted this model! • Painting the Hobby Bos...

I appreciate the interior being composed of individual modules for ease of construction. Great vid!

In German, “v” is pronounced “f” and the letter “e” at the end of the word is pronounced rather than silent, so “Vorne” is pronounced something like “forna”.

I feel like I should be keeping a tally of the number of parts that you *don't* describe as "small and fiddly, but goes together well enough and should look decent" Feels like that describes 90% of the kit!

Three vorne hulls with turrets were made. There are records of the unpowered tanks being towed out from the testing unit.
Also I think the "Hinten" was the original design but was changed to the " Vorne"

This would look great on a display base with a pile of spent shells on the ground. Like it's just pounding away at enemy armour...probably KV-2's...would you be tempted to put some crew inside? Not usually your thing I know. But it'll be interesting to see what you do for painting. A paper panzer is a great way to let your imagination flow...not that it ever stops you XD

I was actually thinking it would be cool to model it on a test range or something. That could include a pile of spent shells. And maybe a box of new shells... Maybe some kind of portable workshop or something.

@@HerbertErpaderp Oh king Derp, us Erpaderpians would be very happy for this to be a reality. I hope to see it some day.

This kit is of the prototype Porsche variant, it did not get the SS endorsement due to its overall unreliability.

The bars hung inside of the turret for the gunner and the commander are what my Father would have called "HOLY SHIT!!!" handles. This tank and others after the Tiger II or Koenigs Tiger were never produced, except the Maus, and that was never fully finished. These tanks were all called the "Paper Panzers" because they were planned, but never built. My Favorite Tank in the Paper Panzers is the "Lowe" or Lion. with its domed turret. It's actually a good thing that none of the Paper Panzers were ever built because they would have made ending the war a lot more troublesome. And I question whether the Pershing's 90mm gun would have been able to penetrate the Lion's armor or not.

The "bracketty things" you put on just before the bogies are mud scrapers I think. They are intended to prevent mud building up on the tracks and wheels and applying pressure which might have caused the tank to throw a track. That would be very annoying if it happened in combat.

This vehicle was the prototype of Porsche for the Kingtiger. Obvious the contract to build the Kingtiger went to Henschel.
    The number VK4502(p) means: VK=Vollkette (fully tracked); 45 =45 to; 02 = 2nd Tiger; (p) = Porsche
I don't know if "vorne" was an offical addition. But I am quite sure this was used - in reality or just by HobbyBoss - to tell it apart from a second prototype Porsche was planning which had the turret sitting at the back.

3 out of the 4 track links are fine but the 4th is cast/molded damaged that needs cleaning up with a knife and a file.

Iv just built the jagdpanther 2 from amusing hobbies it is also based of the world of tanks game it's a nice kit and Brilliant moulds if you like tanks that were cancelled projects for something else it's a mix with a jagdpanther 1 and has a rear mounted 128mm cannon with an Elephant super structure! Iv just bought a pack of zimm for it from a kit for a Panther G it mostly all fits same armour skits to put it on there all PE and the rear 2 are a mesh PE for the exh you have to think and create your own there is non in the kit atoll that was weird but being a what if I watch some world of tanks and realise the 2 panels from the rear were mesh for exhaust fumes there's always smoke belching out from the 3rd steel road wheel in the game so made a long exhaust system on each side under the hull at back of wheels I used a jagdpanther and Tigers style of exhaust shrouds and heat shields it really isn't lacking detail everything's there and never seen such crisp moulds from am hobbies there kinda like what you would expect from takom kits everything is perfectly moulded highly recommended kit for you bud this is a nice one you done here love the shape of the bubble armour and the turret detail! Iv got the A9 British cruser there I got the other day that has all that in the turret looking forward to that !

The cylindery bits are torsion bars, The skids under the hull are track guides just like you think. The brackety thingies on the back and front of the hull are mud scrapers so mud doesn't collect in the sprocket wheels. The half moon bits on the final drive covers are actually an extension of the side hull so there should be no gap .The.......oh forget it. NICE BUILD but please, learn what the parts of a tank are for. Once you know how part functions you will better understand how to paint and weather
