FAUX AGED BRONZE EFFECT For Restoration

- Faux aged bronze effect using acrylic bronze paint. The bronze metallic effect paint is applied to the material, which in this case, is a frame which will be used to support a large foot stool. The frame is primed with black enamel paint and the bronze finish is applied using the dry brush technique.
The dry brush technique is applied using minimal paint on the paint brush and brushed onto the material, or 'dusted' onto the material. This creates a kind of worn or aged look.

Thank you for watching! :)
Paint used in this video is an acrylic based bronze paint by Liberon. Will post Amazon link here as soon as it is available. :)
thank you! going to do this to a bed frame :)
@@gabriellarivasm Great stuff! I think the frame in the video was for a foot rest thing or something.
@@dramamask I was wondering, the bed frame is a black finish on metal, is this still possible to do?
@@gabriellarivasm I think the frame in the video started out as black. I think you get good results with the base colour being black and you can get some nice patina or worn effects depending on your preference. :)
Where I can get all this materials?
Looks great! I'd like to try this. Can you give me a link to the metallic bronze acrylic paint that you used in this video. I haven't had much ggod luck when choosing realistic bronze/tarnished brass metallic paints. Thanks.
loved this! I cant wait to do this to the frame of my accent chair!
Good luck with your chair! :)
To many complaints it's a brilliant job thanks for your time making the video 👌🏾
Thank you Dean! :) I may make an improved video when I have the time, although the process is pretty straight forward. :)
High end finish, nicely done.
That music tho…
Thank you very much! You no likey the music? :D
@@dramamask lol to each their own :)

This turned out really nice! Just what I was looking for, great job!
Thank you Nimna and hope your project turns out great! :)
Nice job my friend ! And now we see the full frontal Drama ,welcome to the beard and glasses club ,lol.
Haha! I'm still working on my verbal skills. I'm a rock n' roller and have no idea where the beard and glasses come from, well, I know I need my eyesight and perhaps the beard is from laziness! :D Wishing you well over there, Gris! Loking forward to your creations in 2017 - I know you have some inspirational ideas on the go! :)
What color ecstasy did you use I would love to recreate this technique on a lamp
This was an acrylic brass paint by Liberon. I'll have to do a materials video on metallic paint at some point. :)
Hello, would this work on metal that already has an old silver finish or do you think I should sand it down first?
thanks in advance
To get the kind of patina effect, you will most likely want to paint an undercoat of black and build your metallic layers on top of that. As for the finish and sanding down - that all depends on wether you want a smooth or rougher finish. :)
Seriously poor audio with loud music in the background. Couldn't watch to the end!
Older video with not such good equipment then. Thank you for your feedback.
What paint exactly is that
Paint used in this video is an acrylic based bronze paint by Liberon. Just pinned product in comments. Cheers. :)
Acrylic water based metallic paint. Bronze.
If you ask nicely, I might tell you. 😂🤣😂
That was a note to myself. To remember without having to search the video later. (gathering lots of data for painting a very large Nautilus sub model) I actually felt bad for your back. I haven't been able to be in that position for 30 years. What brand of paint were you using? Thanks, Andre in San Francisco...
@@sclogse1 Sorry, got mixed up with the other comments which have vanished now. :D The brand of paint is Liberon. Hello Andre in San Fransisco. :)
I can't hear you!!!
Pardon? :D
The audio on this video is very low. And I am having trouble hearing you. Even though the volume is up at it's loudest.
The video here is an older video and my equipment wasn't so good. The later videos have the audio up to acceptable standards. I may remake the older videos for better audio. :)
