Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Seriously, don't touch the crushed rosehip. It was NOT fun for my fingers.

As kids we used to chuck a handful of Rosehips down someone’s T-shirt then slap them on the back…homemade itching powder. We were bad kids 🤣🤣. Totally stays with you for ages 🤣

I would have never thought to do an extraction on Rosehip - Thank you for doing this - very cool and ordering some now! I totally bombed the rose extractions - you sold me on this one!!! Thank you!

Rose hip is a CLEAR WINNER for me! Rose itself has decent label appeal and it’s fine or whatever but those rose hips are as you’ve shown so giving! And just packed full of goodness! Have you put rose hip in glycerine? It’s so gorgeous! Definitely recommend. Also just a little side note, to get some extra goodness out of your petals or ground rose hip, put the strained matter into a double or triple layer of cheesecloth or ( my preference) a tea towel and wring the heck out of it. you’d be surprised how much is left in them. Probably not very pretty to film because your hands or gloves will be covered in oil. I do it with clean bare hands and then massage it into my hands and up my arms. Sorry I got a little wordy… can you tell I love this stuff?

I know, I’m super digging the rose hip too! I did squeeze the rest of the stuff out off camera because it was going to be a messy disaster and my house in the background was already giving that so I didn’t want to add. 😂

This is another one that is awesome in beard balms and oils. I've even used it on one of my solid lotion bar experiments (do it!), but I've never used it in soap. Very excited for this.

Wonderful information. I’ve been infusing rosehip buds in oil for a year now. It’s probably ready by now. Lol. My question is where did u get your strainers you used in the video. Mine are never fine enough.

What a weird thing to say. This is what Rosehips look like in dried form.
