1st time seeing the Anime "Rebirth" I feel in Love. I tried watching the Netflix version on couple different occasions just couldn't get into it. Hell I even went did laundry instead of watching it. And that's bad because I'm lazy!

The movie was so bad I couldn't bare the acting, the shitty music, the slowmo, the girls lisp, the fact L was black I'm not racist but he's white in the anime. If you're gonna copy an anime copy the character looks too! Mia is supposed to be blonde too. What is this seriously I'm so disappointed. L is not supposed to be an emotional spastic and Light is supposed to keep to himself and not be an emotional sensitive freak either. Ugh I can't tell you all how cringy this stupid movie was.
I was more bummed about the fact that in the movie it's his duty to give the book away.. if I remember right, in the anime he just dropped it because he was bored.

Okay, haven't seen the movie yet cause I am busy with other stuff so I can't fully judge it though I heard it's bad but...to be fair...that is a hundred times more realistic reaction in the movie. And in the anime, Ryuk isn't keeping himself out of sight and fucking throwing shit around so that may be the reason why Light is so calm, and finally...seeing Light scream like a little bitch is the best.

That's not the point. This isn't about "Americans" this is about Light Yagami. As you can see in the REAL version, Light Yagami was hardly phased by seeing Ryuk, that's the type of person Light is. But the Netflix version completely shits on his character.

The movie should be judged based on how good it isn, not how similar it is to the original, its just a different story that shares the characters and the death note with the original, not what happens.
I mean, it's still shit as a standalone movie too.
Plus they changed the genre from a physiological thriller to an action movie.

What I consider good:
1.Cinematography, colors and vibes
2. Ryuk and cgi
3. L's acting on the first half of the movie is pretty good
What I consider shit:
1. everything else. the story, acting, the conflict, pacing, directing, and there are tons of plotholes in the movie itself. Almost all elements beside what I consider good is not bad but worse, it was horrid
