Mackay deserves alot of credit as well for being able to mix ancient tech with asgard tech, easily one of the smartest people in tv, after carter of course

This vid does bring up a very good point why didn't the deadulas take the zpm to fight off the 12 hive ships they knew that they could out run the wraith ships and when they where finished with wraith ships or could no longer fight then just run for it and bring it back in time for atlantis to use for the shield they had the time and the fight would off gone o much longer and they could off done more damage to the hive especially with a zpm powered shield and hyperdrive who knows they could off damaged the wraith ships so much that the beaming tech could work again
I like the way Daesalus destroys hives while spinning. So classy! Miss the show Also the moment when they stopped Wraith cruiser going into hyperspace reminds the first battle between Shadows and Narn in B5
I immediately thought of that B5 scene too. The way the Shadows did it was horrifying: collapsing the wormholes while the ships were starting to traverse them and can no longer turn back.
Amazing job! I loved this series (still one of the best) story, the space battles, the advancement of humanity just so spot on that’s why I fall in love with SG-1 and also bcos of the great performance of Richard Dean Anderson 😁
I love them all, Star Trek the Utopian experience, Babylon 5 the more realistic gritty reality that we can expect, Stargate, the sort of in between of the two. love them all

Love this. With firepower like this, the Wraith would never be a problem again. But then how do you replace the bad guys to keep the show going? More exploration?
The Wraith had hundreds of ships spread across the Pegasus. Galaxy Earth only had maybe 6 ships tops. Wraith are still a threat. But the writers introduced the Human Replicators, and the Evil Asgard.
I get the appeal of this, but what made Stargate at its core was mordern day humanity having to struggle to advance and catch up to the titan powers of the more advanced civilizations
Excellent! I always wondered why they didn't have multiple transporters on the ships. That would have enabled them to send multiple warheads throughout the battle simultaneously...but in that case, the episode would have taken a different twist!
I think a best option would have been to simultaneously send nuclear tipped missiles and bean the nukes on board. OR send the missiles out while they’re jumping out of hyperspace, and as they start clumping up together bean a nuke to the closest clump of ships, that way you would take out a lot more with one nuke.
I'd love to see an alternate reality where the wraith become our allies after we cured them from feeding on humans, thats a great idea for a new movie/series reboot...

This would be the nature of a fight between colony ships and a warship. It's smaller and built for one purpose killing. While their ships were huge homes and of a race that thought no one can touch them. Bad mistake in any long term plan.
One just needs to remember how much punishment the daedalus took in that battle against the 12 hives WITHOUT ZPM. Thats how ADVANCED asguard became over acients in the last 40k years. And thats also why Drones are inefficient against Asguard shields over Asuras (and with the Tauri sharing it with the Travelers the win was basicaly obvious)
@@martintaichl This fanfic is based on the original old X-Com games. First part is X-com / UFO Defense game from 1994 combined with Stargate SG-1. That game starts in 1999 which overlaps with the show. They join forces and rename "XSGCOM". The second (unfinished) part introduces Stargate Atlantis and combines it with "X-Com 2: Terror from the Deep". At some point in the 2nd part the Wraith go to attack Atlantis and the humans strike first on the approaching Wraith similarly to your video. You don't need to know the games in order to enjoy it, and the author gives additional explanations at the end of chapters for the people who are less familiar with the source materials (both games and show).

Weight is not an issue, inertia is... The fundamental principle of dynamic tell us that if you are 2 times more massive, you accelerate 2 times slower... So you reduce your chances of evading enemy fire

Here's hoping for a new Stargate series. Just don't make it so dark like all the other Sci-Fi series recently. Stargate always had a great balance of humor, optimism, humanity's goodness, and evil (especially SG1).
Very Sad, why they have destroyed this Univers with this Ori stuff and more Hpyergods and not take a diffrent way. Like a Evolution like the Technology in this Series.

when the tauri can form a fleet of 4 daedalus class with asgard beams, there is no more enemies. it would be nice to se a battleship daedalus, more stronger ship like double shield 8 asgard beams and something like that. a yamato daedalus
Well. The ark of True showed that upgraded 304 with ZPM on board can withstand countless blasts from the Ori Mothership. In my book that makes one of the most powerfull shields ever.
@@martintaichl yes yes, thats why if you can form a 4 or 5 daedalus squadron and no more show, the tauri will be the rulers of the galaxy. and dont forget learning the atlantis tecnology. uff if they could make ZPMs and atlantis shield tecnology
@@johncee853 considering those weapons could 1 shot Hatak motherships, yeah the Tau’ri have come a long way with the BC-304. Even at the battle of the super gate the Odyssey and Korolev both took many more hits than the rest of the ships in that fleet.
@@aresthecrazy9335 I think the third shot did the Korolev in, considering that after the Odyssey got hit the first time, Marks said shields down 50%. Luckily, the Asgard had a year to really update their shields and weapons that they gifted us. The Ha'Taks were the only other ships that we saw that got hit with the Ori main weapon at the Battle of P3Y-229. We only got to see the Asgard ship get hit with secondary weapons. Just watched that battle this morning! I'm an SG-1 addict. Here's hoping for a new series soon!
If i remember correctly, before the retrofit of the asguard systems on the daedalus, the hyperdrive systems were isolated from the rest of the ship's major systems as it was designed based on goa'uld hyperdrives like the Prometheus. The shields and beaming technology which were gifts from the asguard for the production of the daedalus were on a different power distribution system. So attaching the ZPM to the hyperdrive was entirely separate from powering the shields. The major systems weren't all on the same power distribution system for the daedalus until the asguard gave all their knowledge to humans and the ship was retrofitted with an asguard design hyperdrive (along with other technologies) Though it does beg the question of why throughout the atlantis series (or even the later parts of SG1) why weren't the human ships being retrofitted with reverse engineered ancient weapons like the drone systems. Or even Goa'uld capital ship weapons. It doesn't make a lot of sense for them to have captured all of these goa'uld ships and not even (as far as the show describes) attempt to adapt the energy weapons. By the time the daedalus arrives in the pegasus galaxy, there is no explanation given as to why there aren't more advanced weapons on it aside from extremely high yield nukes.
Always annoyed me that they did beam over all the nukes at the same time. Surely they could have written a program that will they needed to do was enter the coordinates and hit enter and have all the new nukes go at once. Not given them any time to react
@@FructusSum yeah i agree, but may be the asgard sensors allowed to get coordinates just one at the time, that way 12 people would not matter. But i agree, they should have wipe them all out
@@martintaichl they have shown beaming multiple people out many times. I think this is a classic case of the writer said so. I also think them suddenly getting anti bean tech was a cheat. I much prefer if they can in blew up this fleet. That would give the wraith a good reason for coming up with it
Very intelligent actually. They are multi- theater missiles. One missile for space and atmospheric use. You will not be limited by your ordinance in the theater.

At the time the Asgard did not even give a single offensive weapon.

Asgard never gave the earth any energy weapon until final season final episode of SG-1.
Even Tollan ion cannons would have owned wraith ships. They have no shields. Any energy weapon can cause a lot of damage.

Well they also could beam all warheads before Detonation. But it would end the battle there and we wouldn't have the other cool scenes

The one thing I never got the ship originally went to Atlantis using the zedpm why did they have to create a makeshift way to connect it afterwards
maybe they didnt, maybe that is exactly how the ZPM was connected in the first voyage. I guess we´ll never know ;)
If i remember correctly, before the retrofit of the asguard systems on the daedalus, the hyperdrive systems were isolated from the rest of the ship's major systems as it was designed based on goa'uld hyperdrives like the Prometheus. The shields and beaming technology which were gifts from the asguard for the production of the daedalus were on a different power distribution system. So attaching the ZPM to the hyperdrive was entirely separate from powering the shields. The major systems weren't all on the same power distribution system for the daedalus until the asguard gave all their knowledge to humans and the ship was retrofitted with an asguard design hyperdrive (along with other technologies)
Though it does beg the question of why throughout the atlantis series (or even the later parts of SG1) why weren't the human ships being retrofitted with reverse engineered ancient weapons like the drone systems. Or even Goa'uld capital ship weapons. It doesn't make a lot of sense for them to have captured all of these goa'uld ships and not even (as far as the show describes) attempt to adapt the energy weapons.
By the time the daedalus arrives in the pegasus galaxy, there is no explanation given as to why there aren't more advanced weapons on it aside from extremely high yield nukes.

Always annoyed me that they did beam over all the nukes at the same time. Surely they could have written a program that will they needed to do was enter the coordinates and hit enter and have all the new nukes go at once.

considering how long it took them to get coordinates for just one ship, i guess it was not so easy....

@@martintaichl they have shown beaming multiple people out many times. I think this is a classic case of the writer said so. I also think them suddenly getting anti bean tech was a cheat. I much prefer if they can in blew up this fleet. That would give the wraith a good reason for coming up with it
