    There was almost no info for so long, was wondering if it would ever open. Now thanks to this update video only one question remains..... When will it open? Hopefully they'll let us know when water gets turned on. Then gas, Internet, and trash pick up.

    So i saw that the track is now open to the public? Doesnt that give the championship final contenders an unfair advantage?

    • @k1speed
      @k1speed  3 місяці тому +1

      Not sure where you saw that, but the track is certainly not open to the public yet.

    K1 is trying hard to promote the e-kart rental concept, but it is just not going to work. Nobody wants to pay 20k for an overweight pig when a real race kart costs 1/3 as much. And a rental model just does not work for real, competitive racing. You have to work on your own kart, and dial it in for your style. We are grateful for K1 building this circuit, but they need to accept that that real karting with gas engines is what is going to make this a business success. Instead of promoting this e-kart fantasy...they need to start promoting real racing....club racing, SKUSA, even FIA..... This is an awesome track....don't blowing by deluding yourself K1....

      @@k1speed Yeah....I was there. Great event, and phenomenal facility.
      But how come you did not promote it one bit. No press releases. Nothing on your website. ZERO. It was a complete vacuum. So, you just made my point. Do you consider traditional kart racing to be a competitor to your business model? The complete and total blackout on promotion of a traditional (non e-kart) karting event sure makes it seem that way.
      Adults who get into karting typically race for 4-7 years. They start out with club racing for a few years....they then go regional racing....and then will hit some national events a few times to see how they stack up before they get burned out. This is just how it works. With kids....it is similar, and generally lasts from the time they start....till they graduate high school. Do you really think you are going to pull those new participants over to your model...and hold them long term for 4-7 years? LOL....it will NEVER happen.
      The long term participants in karting are always going to be drawn to sanctioned, traditional kart racing. That is your long term repeat business. In addition to your e-kart model, you need to strongly embrace and promote traditional karting, and understand that serious racing is not going to be your rental league model. That is just the entry point. As soon as people get serious, they are going to move on to sanctioned competitive racing. That is just how it is. Sorry.
      So you need to promote BOTH. Your General Manager knows this - he ran Calspeed.,.right? So why are you not promoting traditional sanctioned karting at all? It makes ZERO sense. Do you think that traditional kart media content will make your product look less attractive?
      By the way, the SKUSA race was great, and well run. Great job. Please do something about the curb at turn #2. It is the only turn on the track where cutting the curb really saves time. It would be great if it were modified so we did not have to tear up our equipment for that last tenth. This will also save you money on your own equipment.
