I remember when I went to six flags I was able to link most of the corners. I had to floor in to the corners all the time, counter steer then straightened up. They were gas powered so they weren't as fast as these. It was hella fun . I overlapped everyone twice.

Drifting is fun, in 2017 I was in a kart series using Rotax karts and it was in the rain and the corners were so slippery that Drifting kept happening.
Great idea, but after driving gas-powered drift karts in Honolulu, this was incredibly underwhelming. If you try to carry too much speed and drift as you normally would, this is nothing but frustrating. The karts in Honolulu you could pin the throttle and really drift. And it was incredible. At K1 Sacramento, it took me 8 minutes to finally get the idea in my head that you MUST go about half speed or slower into the turns in order to not spin out. If you have ever driven on ice, its very similar, if not exactly, like that. Big, smooth, fat, plastic wheels in the back offers nearly zero grip. Even the K1 employee there had a hell of a time trying to get around the course.
It’s much easier to drift K1 karts when they don’t have those stupid plastic wheels on them. I have no idea why they have those drift covers, and why they are so hard and gripless.
To save ur time, in a normal go kart, unlike his, just go fast in a turn press break and do a sudden turn, then turn in the opposite direction to balance the vehicle
Recently i was doing a few races in a K1 Speed RACING big track (2 level long track), i was legit going fast and slow but i was going mostly fast and legit doing some awesome fast drifting and i did spin out like once when i angled alil to far / much on one of the corners but holly shit these monsters go FAST. But Holly shit these karts CAN DRIFT LIKE A BOSS! I did once do a 360. I didn't wear riding / racing gloves so my hands kinda started to hurt after alil while. I did buy a pair riding gloves that has strong comfortable grip and grabbing on the handle bars/ steering wheel thing so my hands and fingers Do not hurt while i grab and hold onto the steering wheel things.
I also wonder what it's like wearing a full race suit with the race gloves and full geared up on the K1 Speed racing gear. People will look at you probably if you walk in while all geared up lol.
What you're showing here isn't power sliding, it's essentially engine breaking into a turn causing loss of traction in the rear. To start a power slide you come in fast then floor the gas just long enough to break traction, then quickly counter steer and get back on the gas just enough to hold the slide. Much the same as drifting, however power sliding is still racing and maintaining speed is key, so don't go for to much angle or you'll loose speed.
The drift tires have completely ruined the grip at the track in Rohnert Park. They have embedded the plastic from th tire into the surface of the track and just ruined the track making it slick as an oil spill, especially for the GP racers. On top of that K1 corporate has increased prices, especially thebulk race packages. For instance, the 50 races for $675 is now $800+. It has basically turned away most of the regulars. The GP was running strong with over 30 racers everytime, but this week 4 showed up... yes, only 4 racers. I talked to a few via social media and heard the same complaints... unreasonable price hikes, and also no more grided finals... now they will only do rolling starts. Say goodbye to a big chunck of change Rohnert Park K1...... many of us are done with you.
hate to tell you, but the point of powersliding is to actually be on the power to slide the kart not drive like a front wheel drive and decelerate using the locked axle as a handbrake
make a k1 in idaho falls for a place with over 100,000 people theres one go kart place thats 15 miles away and they dont go faster than 15 mph its also a 0.15 mile track if you can ever call it a track
O K1 speed yeah I went there when I was a kid and sometimes I go there when I’m adult too but every time I go there I always kind of drift or like slide

Ok I got a story for you guys so this one time I was at k1 speed brought my brother and my freaked and my dad I could not drive yet we’re around the track this guy bumps into and makes me lose speed and he won later that day I got in trouble for bumping into that same guy while I was going for the pass it this time it wasn’t on purpose lol. Ihtought my day couldn’t get worse and then after that that same guy was in a race I wasn’t in I was just watching but that guy crashed into another guy the other guy his kart whent on top of the other guys kart the two karts where on top of each other karma for real it’s also funny when I saw the workers run after it to help them
i drifted a gokart outside on a concrete track bc i hit dirt at the start of a corner and it made me slip and i just took cars 1 advice and turned left to go right
Funny story! I went to k1 for my birthday a couple years ago and I was in first the entire time but then my friend ran into me. My other friends got stuck behind me but one didn’t so while everyone was trying to fix the issue my other friend checked if I was okay. She then proceeded to get first place. We restarted the race I thought I at least got second place but turns out I just missed that and got 3rd to this day that medal is sitting in my closet while my other friends have 1st and 2nd,
Before watching this video I tried drifting and when I turned it stopped and then like rubber flakes of tire flew into my face (WEAR FACE PROTECTION WHEN DRIFTING)

You don't need the brake to drift. Especially in a power slide you want to keep the accelerator down.

It's because you're not allowed to drift. But K1 has these things called "drift nights" where you are allowed to do drifting.
