Sorry for the late comment I slept early asf and just woke up but the thing is the mentality of our fans is simply insane. When you see glimpses of success you have to back it. I can just imagine pedro porro crossing to solanke and him just finishing that ball in beautiful fashion. Its simlply something we've been missing and we cannot go into every game being hateful. We have to remain positive at all times
Great video Mitch! I’ve seen enough in the last 3 games to have a bit of optimism tbh. Who goes to Newcastle and dominates the game? We’ve been humiliated there in the past. IMO that shows great foundations and character. I can’t be arsed to be negative and it affect how I support the club. We’ve had to literally gut 75% of the squad since Ange started. It simply takes time that fans - looking for every rumour/tit bit/news every day - don’t have patience for.
Many fans are fickle and don't remember how we were playing for years before Ange arrived. I recall despairing at the condition of our team with Stellini in charge and couldn't imagine we would be in such a promising position as we are now. The international break allows for VDV and Solanke to get fir for the NLD, don't complain, a blessing in disguise?
I don’t understand why so many people complain about international breaks and nothing is done. We only had three matches and already we have to wait two weeks to next match. 😡 it’s like we’ve only just started back!! My mood will be even worse if we suffer any injuries through the matches.
Good stuff Mitch! Its a very difficult period after the break, games come every 3-4 days for I think 7 games. Some DANGEROUS teams and some who I dont know much about so cannot assess the chances.Firstly, forget the league ,Ange peaked in the first 10 games, since then, its been mid table performances and thats the way its started and will continue this season.Sorry, but "Thats the way it is mate".All the other managers will low block and counter, those that dont will be 3 points to TH.The other teams will prepare to play without the ball, then attempt to take the chances that come. The high line gives up lots of goals and thats not going to change. When the next break comes, make this video again because WE will know where Spurs are in development.Australia lost to Bahrain overnight, and never looked like scoring.WE are not happy clapping!
I hope all the naysayers “enjoy and can bask in“ their negative thoughts and opinions. Personally I would rather look for the promising signs and be disappointed if necessary later on. Why even consider yourself a supporter if all you seem to want is to be proven right and disappointed?
You don’t win games by having possession. Teams seem quite willing to allow Spurs to have the ball knowing how fragile they are on the counter. 20 shots without scoring (unless you include the own goal) is worrying.
We don't need any more signings; our squad is great. Our transfer window was fantastic. With the addition of players like Werner, Bergval, Gray, and Solanke, we will be even stronger. We will definitely win the league title. Ange's philosophy of non-stop attacking football, without worrying about defending, will make our opponents tremble when they face us. The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool will be terrified when they hear our name. We will clean sweep all the trophies this season. Timo Werner and Brenden Johnson will be our star players this season. The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich will want to sign them next season.😭😭😭
The video is absolute nonsense. Every point in it can be easily proven wrong or is just hypotheticals. What you “prefer” can hardly happen. Who says that cause we have slow start, we’ll have strong finish? I’d argue the opposite - with the progress of the season injuries will happen, we’ll have played a lot more games and the type of football we play could lead to tired legs eventually. Possession does not equal control. We dominate the ball but we’re not in control of our games. We have no answer when losing the ball in the midfield area. Our transition defence is catastrophic. Set piece defence is ridiculous. No improvement in the area, it’s year 2 of Ange, and it doesn’t look like he’s turning his attention to this. We’re definitely not better than we were last season. People forget that we played same attractive football at the start of the last season, but we were similarly not in control of our games with the difference that this season our collective defence looks even worse.
Sigh. I shouldn't really entertain you as you think I speak 'nonsense' but here we are... Both Manchester City and Arsenal had stronger second halves of the season than first halves last season, there's absolutely no reason to think we can't. Assuming we'll be missing key players like Udogie and VDV in 2025 is simply pointless. We definitely are in control of the games, if we take our chances against Newcastle on Sunday we would have been out of sight in the first half. Look at where their goals came from, them pinging the balls over the top to their wingers or striker. We haven't conceded a goal from a set piece yet this season, so not sure why you're pointing that out here. Three games in and you've given up already, if anything is 'nonsense' it's probably that.
@@mitch_fretton Again - in theory we can, but will we have a better end of the season? There’s no way we can tell for sure. We might be in top form, but it might be catastrophic. I’m not going to enter into hypothetical arguments. Being in control means killing the game for your opponent, one way or another. We’re not doing that, and you can’t count on just scoring more goals, which we’re not doing either. You need to be effective in transition, you need to have an answer for these situations when you lose the ball in that midfield area or when we don’t overcome the press. I can’t believe that someone can even think we’re controlling games, when you couldn’t hold onto the lead against relegation opponent, and you lost another game, and the only win we got is against a horrendous Everton team. We’ve not conceded from set piece yet, but our struggles are obvious for anyone watching our games. We can easily concede a number of goals throughout the season, cause every time they’re crossing the ball in our penalty area we’re just praying they don’t score, and we keep leaving opposition players on their own. And there’s a number of those situations in our games. I’ve not given up on the season, but I’m not seeing us improving from last season, which I was certainly hoping for. We still got the quality to compete, but Ange needs to start adapting and improving in those areas, and where the football we play is attractive, it’s ineffective and it will show up in many of those games. You need to be in control of your games, which we’re not, otherwise we wouldn’t have 1 win in 3 games, and it’s not like we’ve played the best Premier League teams.
He never said he guarantees a perfect end of the season run for Tottenham. He said he's seen enough from the team in the 3 games to be hopeful that it could happen. Just like you're assuming it may not happen ...he's assuming it might.. Don't really see the difference. They're both assumptions and we don't know so you're allowed to feel skeptical while he's allowed to feel hopeful. 🤷🏽♂️ Sure possession and chances created DO NOT mean anything unless those chances count for Goals scored and the game is killed off However if we add a little perspective to the equation. Generally speaking strikers put away chances created in football. We've not had that part of the game in full flow yet. I think that's what he was alluding to. Solanke played 1 match that was his FIRST match. It was as good as being his first preseason match so he's obviously going to be slightly rusty and lack match fitness. (He was also playing that match injured) (Coz he was injured all preseason he didn't get any game time) Not to mention that was his first match with his new team mates. He hadn't learned the system fully and they haven't learned his movements and tendencies. Anyone that's played football knows that it takes at least a month or so and 5-8 matches to completely bed in. (I guess that's another whole month of ppl saying Solanke isn't good enough 🤦🏼♂️) I'm saying realistically somewhere in November is when he will really.start to click. Again I'm not saying he won't score at all until then but to really be at full flow ...firing at all cylinders? We're probably looking at Mid November or so. (Injuries permitting ) - give him a run of 8 consecutive games at full health. Then we will start to see the possession and chances count. Everyone of those crosses that went across the box past Pope's goal in the Newcastle game was begging for a striker to attack the space. However those don't count towards "chances created / XG " in the stats.. If you've watched football enough thought it's quite easy to see what was missing. Now let's talk about the set piece defending. Is it fully where it's supposed to be? NO....but has it improved? I think it has. Firstly our defence (just like Solanke) Had their first match of the season Vs Leicester. So they had zero practice together in match situations before that game. Our most shaky Set piece defending was vs Leicester. Secondly Ange has hired a new set piece coach to help with this issue and it has definitely improved since he's come in. They now play a hybrid man marking / zonal defence. Like I said he's only just started working with them just before the Leicester game. You're probably screaming at this and disagreeing. You don't see any improvement you say. It's "obvious to see our struggles." Isn't it funny how it's "gameplay " and not "goals against" that that you're looking at when it comes to the defending set pieces However on the.offensive side of the game it's not "gameplay" possession and chances that we're looking at. We're looking at goals scored as the metric of measurement 🤷🏽♂️. If it's so obvious to see our struggles defensively how can you not see that with a striker there we're gonna score a to more goals and finish games off ? It seems equally obvious to me. Again is it perfect yet ? No Is there improvement? Yes Has Ange hired a coach to look at that part ? Yes Does he normally do that? No So. If he's done it this time it must mean that he wants to improve the part specifically and has it improved since Leicester?. Yes ...Leicester was the worst match set piece wise. I can't think of that many chances from set pieces the other 2 matches. And again if you're looking at goals .. None so far when last year it was every match 🤷🏽♂️. Let's keep the argument consistent on both sides in terms of metrics of measurement The transition defence is a great point you brought up.. This is where I agree with you. If they beat the press we need to find a way to stop the opponent. Unfortunately for us right now VDV seems like the only Neutralizer. I don't like this but it will improve the more games Dragusin plays in the high line. At least I'm hopeful it does. Honestly i want to say more but I'm so tired typing. Either way it's not going to make much of a difference. I'm never going to see it your way and you're never going to see it my way. Why don't we just wait till.December and see 🤷🏽♂️ Again I don't think it's perfect but from what I've seen? I think we're going to smother teams.. Absolutely relentless attacking .. I haven't seen anything like it. The only issue I'm truly seeing is that midfield issue and.our ability to respond after a goal I feel our heads drop and there's no leader to rally the troops.

Spurs is going to do better this season than the past 10seasons
We just need to be clinical and boost our confidence too

100% agree!

Great points! If 2 weeks without Spurs means we get Solanke and VDV back then I am all for it!
Let Ange cook

Love the positiveness Mitch. I believe in our players and I back the manager. I am sure we we will do well this season. COYS
Hell yes brother! This is the true spurs spirit💙 greetings from Norway!
great video

What is "sustain %" in the graphs.you showed ? What does it mean?.
And field tilt
Basically means sustaining attacks and being on the front foot, constant pressure on the opposition etc
Here we go!
Cheers 4 being positive.
You don’t win games by having possession. Teams seem quite willing to allow Spurs to have the ball knowing how fragile they are on the counter.
20 shots without scoring (unless you include the own goal) is worrying.
I think having a natural striker in the box matters though.
The problem is, Spurs players don't have the killer mentality.
Too young too naive or maybe like u all said this team is built for the future.
Think it's a very fair point, seems like we are always built for the future!
This video is a troll right?
12 minutes of absolute COPING
Thanks for watching xx

You've got quite a few predictions right actually...just the time lines are slightly off
Clueless Ange out
