Hello frauds, just want to make it clear here in case it isn't in the video, that the Nunes problem as I call it, isn't a direct issue with Nunes, rather, the problem is (for me) how Pep is USING Nunes. Hope that makes sense! :D Now go watch all my videos and give me all your money by buying my merch: lnobbins.myspreadshop.com/
This may be a bit rogue, but as both of our RB options are clearly struggling, try Nunes at RB and tucking in, he has legs to cover the ground, he has a decent level of physicality etc, especially while the CB options who can also play RB (Akanji and Stones) are unavailable or having to play CB
Another problem is that we haven't yet figured what position does Rico lewis even play. He doesnt have physicality and speed to play on the Wings or Full back, in the central of the park he isn't enough to play a defensive mid coz he is short and not strong, The only place he can probably play is the Centre mid position but that too is confusing because I am not sure he can recover balls from opponents that good.
Best City content creator by a mile, love the depth you go into, not just "He's Shit" kinda stuff that 90% of folk say. I love Nunes, but he's weak at receiving the ball a lot of the time, if he was better at that he'd be golden.
That midfield combination of Bernardo and Gundo is winless yet it's being played over and over and over again. Thank you for highlighting that, great video btw!
Agree entirely that Nunes should be given the chance to play CDM as we’re so fragile there currently. Doku should also play as he seems more likely to score than Savinho. Rico should take over the right back position and Walker should be dropped.
@@AbrahamOkon-n8h Disagree. He is arguably one of the most technically gifted players at City, He needs to develop his physicality as well as defensive awareness
It always amazes me how Pep will experiment everywhere on the pitch except at midfield. For some reason, he is very precious about those positions. It seem to me the hardest position to break into. When all his players are fit he has 7 or 8 players all vying for 3 places.
Well, for starters. Nunes is still contributing but Pep clearly doesn't trust him enough to play him in midfield. Secondly, the Walker issue is becoming a headache, along with our frailties on the left side of our defence. Pep also needs to start bringing in fresh legs a lot earlier in games, maybe trust the kids more.
great video , correctly pointed out how Nunes was being used more as an outlet than Savio despite being limited in wingplay abilities. What I can suggest city do more is overload that right hand side with KDB, Bernardo and Savio, while using Nunes' height and physicality as a goal threat at the far post while Haaland pulls the defenders towards near post. You need your taller and more physical guys to be in the box when the ball comes in.
Nice detailed video LNobbs... I like this kind of content of yours on tactical analysis of the match... it's well explained and nice to listen to... bring it more often... Keep it Up Buddy!
First of all , great channel! The issue with Nunes is very simple. Pep doesn't trust him in the midfield due to the fact that he isn't good on the ball and he isn't press resistant.
When these problems started arising I said that Man City should field a midfield of Nunes, KDB and Grealish. That would give the team legs in midfield. Silva on the right and Doku on the left.
For the rest... regarding City's form... we are not playing our best football... at the moment... we are a shadow of our best... but we will be able to recover... let's remain confident and let's support our team as much as we can... we will come back stronger than before... CTID💙💪👊
huh. people still calling this a 3-1-6 when it is clearly an old school 3-4-3 with a midfield diamond. Only difference is that passing triangles must be maintained.
Semantics tbh, you’ll hear me refer to it as a diamond in this video also The numbers are just to help viewers rather than something to get bogged down in
Ain’t a City fan but Nunes at Sporting and Wolves was deployed as a CM. His attributes are wasted at the wing, he’s no winger. He doesn’t have the speed and the trickiness of one. City lacks legs in the midfield, he will bring that and is a ball carrier. Pep praised him as a very intelligent baller, maybe he should trust him..
I think that it's not the Pep way but we don't have the players to control the game with the ball without a player like Rodri who is able to cycle possession efficiently. I do think that City have the players right now to play more on the break/with quicker transitions. We have the best ranged passer in the league, and a team full of ball carriers and a pacy front three. We should be controlling the games without the ball and playing on the break, rather than cycling the ball to players like Gundogan, who right now is a bit out of depth in that deeper position.
Where is the " Ideal Tranfer target " video we been waiting mate , im tired of this slow sluggish football we play despite having 3 speedy attackers Haaland, Savio, Doku its so frustrating at this point 😑😡🤬😠😒
I just don’t understand why Pep find it difficult to see what we’re seeing..Nunes is better in the middle for now especially because of our lack of real legs and physicality in the middle
I refuse to have anyone in the midfield if you’re not press resistant or can’t hold the ball I want smart players in the midfield not athletes like David Silva
Definitely, Nunes is zero in terms of intimidation. All he does is wait, slow down and pass back to Lewis. his only cross lead to a goal, but then, he made no dribbling, no cross,.... sucks!
His only dilemma is he doesn't have enough fit elite players and therefore Nunes makes the pitch. Period. He's better than the 17 yr old Academy lad and at this point we're lucky we have him. Palmer, Lavia, Harwood-Bellis, Delap....I'd take most of them back right now.
Nunes a CDM, Guardiola must stop insisting on starting him as a fucking winger, He's SLOW and CAN'T dribble, He's a physical player and should play as CDM!
we're not playing him in the position he was intended to cover. we bought him to be a ball winning midfielder, but hasn't even been given an opportunity there within his time here. the player is not the issue-it's a profiling and tactical issue.
Hughes was the best player on the pitch - because he is a mobile midfielder - an ok level player will dominate the central midfield in a City game simply due to being mobile - so why can't Pep make that player a Man City one 🤷🏻♂️
We are too slow on the pitch like no legs even we try to counter attack I know this problem will solve when covacic return but why not nunes play in the middle.. We need to be fast.. I remember when 2-3 years ego when Liverpool suddenly play like this too slow.. Is it our downfall... We need Oscar and Echeveri as soon as possible.. Cmon city❤❤
Nunes should be deployed as 6 only. His the closest thing to Rodri in the squad, clearly better at defensive work & carrying the ball out from danger as compared to Gundo & Kovosic.
Bro the Actual issue with city is walker & Gundoan is shit mate & pep needs to sell them asap. Lewis isn't good in midfeild and pep refused to play Oreilly and mcatee. The issue is pep not giving young players an opertunity to gain a form.
@@elarabymohammed1 honestly for me I want them to buy Giorgio Scalvini the CB, Senny Mayulu AM both footed, Musiala & xavi simons AMs, Ricci & Wendell silva the Santos CF or Gyokeres.but knowing pep city will buy another Spanish player smh 😔 I miss having French, Brazilian & Italian players in the club.in my opinion I would sell all players thats 30 years old in this club.
Excellent analysis Nobbins. If you’re seeing these mistakes that Pep keeps making, how is it that he seemingly continues to commit them over and over again? Are his coaching staff simply not telling him? Is he ignoring it? I wonder could be responsible for this continued disconnect?

Needs to sub off gundo and Rico
The issue is who's he gonna play if he drops them?
Grealish + Kovacic
Dias should be captain as Walks isn’t a leader on the pitch or even inspirational to others through playing well.
