Here in New Zealand we get used ones from the Japanese market and are badged as 'Funcargo', and I've had my eye on getting one. I think it like other Toyota cars of this size are Corolla sub models, using the same underpinnings and the 1.3liter engine. Its a good idea, as there is a small, economical and very durable car for everyone in the city, small town etc. Back in the 1970's there was only one model of the Corolla, then in the 80's Toyota came up with the Tercel and maybe they got the idea to make several sub models of the series.🐞
We are reaching an era where used cars of the 2000s are suddenly reaching a renaissance because nobody can affort new cars. I hope this age inspires car makers because something like the Yaris Verso desperately needs a reporduction, remake or modern clone. The muli-purpose design is just fabulous. Also I cant wrap my head around why people find it ugly. Because its round? I really dont get it. Its a simple beauty. Also people joking on the Yaris Verso obviously have never seen a Fiat Multipla xD
I think you are right, in Germany the cars are getting more and more expansive to drive, to fix (everything) Actuell Im driving this car in a second time. Now with a 1,5l. The look does nt matter to me. It s some Kind of a multi purpose car like a Citroen 2cv😉
Yes indeed. Just needs a bit of underseal once in a while to keep it good but ppl don't usually do it. This one thankfully is just surface rust underneath that can be wire brushed off and sealed. So underrated
Howcome you couldn't fold the rear seats flat into the floor? Thats the main party trick of this model. As I remember you need to remove the middle seat in order to do so. Also the cargo area dome light is a flashlight as well. Great car tho, I had one with the same drivetrain.
@@yans869 it's great. Im assuming you mean the fuel economy? - you'll easily get near 40mpg on a smooth run, around 30mpg in town and mid 40s on a saunter at around 50 mph. All UK mpg measurements. In terms of engine oil. It sips it. Uses hardly any but for longevity annual oil changes recommended.
It's a genius car and has no rivals or follow-ups. No other compact MPV is so spacious and can let the rear seats dissappear below the floor. It's even available as a van. I like the looks of this car, apart from the visible rear doors.
Sold the car now. But I think I'll buy another one just to try out those seats that are supposed to fold under the floor. For the life of me this one I could adjust the seats... probably missed something simple and obvious 🤦🏾♂️ on my part.
There is no better car in this segment. Too bad Toyota never followed it up. The Verso S is smaller inside and the now the Yaris Cross is even smaller inside.
Tata Nano is a special car that wasn't built to compete with Toyotas & Chevys. It was meant to be a People's car and it excelled in that. Regret Tata discontinued it.
Not the car you want, but the car you need...

Very popular car for the elderly and people with mobility issues with the high roofline , seen quite a few around London.

One of my staff had a red Fun Cargo which we labelled Postman Pat. It was invaluable for the charity work she did 😊
I love your accent ❤
Utterly brilliant if they don’t have rot underneath

Will also take 3 adults and three large mountain bikes with a squeeze .
Its not pretty, but it's definitely got substance! The Yaris its based on does look good though.
If you want to see uglies car, you should check Citroen Ami. A portable toilet on wheels.
Errrm. I own one of those lol

This is not the ugliest car on earth FOR SURE
How is the oil consumption?

The Japan version of this car is called Toyota Fun Cargo...The car Struggles to even get out of its own way!..
@@anelemguni8909 i think the jap one usually has a 1.0 litre engine. This 1.3 has just enough power to get by. Still no speed machine mind.
