Octopus circle hooks are the best because you can set the hook like a j hook or use it as a circle hook. I learned that from some guy(a stranger I met fishin) at sebastian inlet one night snook fishin. ps thanks for the tip buddy if ya ever see this 👍
we should fish sometime bro, I fish every day after work around 8pm, I live near the quarry lake in Naples, I usually go to Bonita for the big bridge targeting big snook, goliath's and sometimes tarpon. Lived here for a year and I've been grinding daily trying to find good spots.
This video cant have been recent, this spillway is starting to dry up. Please dont blow up the spot the vid is cool but no need to tell people where :) the spot is already blown up enough. Nice snook though. Ive caught tons there but never any over 32. Also caught my first tarpon there
No in Florida you can use whole panfish (eg. Bluegill, redear sunfish, redbreast sunfish, spotted sunfish) or parts thereof may be used as bait for sportfishing by the angler who caught them. - directly from the FWC website "methods of taking bait
Correct, but you cannot catch them in a cast net and use them for bait. Cichlids and tilapia can be kept in a net, bluegill and other panfish cannot be kept if caught in a net
I tend to not go after Spillway Snook because they seem sloppy. No sense in crying over spilled snook when you can have a nice Chilean Seabass at Bonefish Grill. I know there's plenty of other fish in the sea, but the Wood-Grilled Sea Bass takes first place. Its silky, melt in your mouth texture paired with oak flavor from our wood grill makes this the dish worth indulging in. Insider tip: Ask for it blackened and topped with fresh mango salsa! This special won't last as supplies are limited and people are hungry.
Great video man, you really show respect for the sport and the fish, nicely done.
Thank you!
Great respect for the fish and not dragging up on the rock!! Great catch and release!👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words
I love that spot, 5 min from my house. Stuck in NJ for school and missing FL fishing
You have striper in NJ though right?
@@Flyinfishing69 I go to school in Hoboken so its right on the Hudson. I've never fished it but I've seen videos of strippers being caught off piers.
Awesome video bro! And utmost respect to you for how you treat the fish, job well done!
Thanks man really appreciate it!
Love your spillway fishing 👍🎣👍
The good thing about spillways is that even the over-fished ones reset(in terms of fishing pressure) when a big rain or hurricane comes
That is very true!
Where is this spill way..im from Hendry county label...i stay an hour away .would really appreciate the location of this spill way
Proud to be the 1000th subscriber congrats man keep up the good work
Thank you! I'm going to start making new videos next weekend
Awesome. I'm traveling down from Jacksonville for work and bringing my boat also. We don't really have snook up here.
Get em bro!
@@Flyinfishing69 made it down yesterday and found it. Yea there was a couple guys there this afternoon
@@bigjerm8617 any luck? It's been raining a LOT down here recently. It should be flowing pretty good

I live in Naples & love fishing in Bonita, too. I’d love to fish with ya sometime!
Do you know any good fishing spots in Bonita?

Yessir let's hit it sometime. Shoot me a DM on insta
Is there any certain time to fish spillways for snook or is it a all year round thing?
You can probably catch them year round, but the big ones definitely come when it's rainy season during summer
Nice video also what place lol kinda wanna hit it as a mid western fishermen that would be amazing
Thanks! It's out on Bonita beach road. Play around on good maps and you'll find it

30cm sir
Am friends with che brother even
Whatsup homie
Better be careful using them bluegills for bait😂. If fwc rolls up I’d throw em back cause you can’t use them for bait.

I literally laughed out loud for too long at this

That spots great but watch out for the big ass gator in there lol
I'll punch that gator right in the mouf
@Flyinfishing69 I use to fish that spot when I was in fire school at the station right up the road, lots of good and bad memories there lmao
