Grew up in south florida and we use a lot of conventionals. I throw artificial 90% of the time and I would rather just use a baitcaster or spinning reel for throwing big lures

You may wanna start putting your braid on your reel a little bit tighter when you get one of those really big snook and they start to run your line will dig down in the spool and it will break you off I just had it happen on a really big alligator gar here in Central Texas
