Char-grilling the marinated chicken really does add a nice smokey flavor and that spoon of honey is a nice x-factor! I used a slightly different spice set and I can't get chick-pea flour. But the result was delicious. My wife has upgraded my butter chicken to restaurant class! More power to food tube!

You may find that Thai food is generally much lighter and healthier, although still no less flavorful and spicy. It's a shame they don't use any diary products in their cuisine, though. Another consideration is that you can hardly do any Thai cooking without a wok and woking is an entirely different approach requiring major upgrades to your cooking techniques, mentality and kitchen equipment. A journey well worth taking! :) BTW: deciding Jasmine vs Basmati may become a real challenge sometimes ;)

Grizzly Melon Authentic Butter chicken which you only get in the north of India is basically "tandoori chicken" cooked in a rich creamy sauce. So you're not exactly wrong
This looks so good. Would love to try it but there are quite a few hard to find ingredients unfortunately.

I'm trying to learn Thai food now. Indian food may be next!
BTW: deciding Jasmine vs Basmati may become a real challenge sometimes ;)
