    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 2 роки тому +10

      @@raynman6466 Who is "you?" In this case, it absolutely mattered how he did during the SECOND race of his life, of this type. He was learning and also showing he can hang with the pros. The winner doesn't always move from the back of the pack, instantly to the front in one shot............that means these people have to fight to keep their place or move up to 1st. You must be very simple or have an ego, and can't see the big picture. All these people commenting are giving Cleetus credit for doing something that few could do with their first event at a professional level sport.
      I have done many competitions with competitors who range from absolute beginners to sponsored people and pros, all in the same group. One of the guys I took second to in a match was a legend who started that version of the sport when I was born. It was actually the first match of this type that I attended and there were around 50 people in it, but I had been practicing a lot. It absolutely matters how people do during the race, because they learn from it and figure out how to get better with practice. There are usually 16-60+ people in the matches I do, but we have different divisions. People work their way up the list and some get to the top. I did just that in one of the types of matches I do, to where I get friendly crap from the others when I show up to the local match because they know I will give them some stiff competition. Cleetus may have been dead last in this race, but his performance was amazing and I bet he learned a great deal. He may continue to practice and really begin to kick ass, just as he has done in other races.

      @@DelFam2011 that's a really fucking silly thing to say. Gordon is in a vastly different class. I mean you can clearly see him slow down multiple times, he's a smart business man. And I say that not to take anything away from Cleetus, he's proves time and again he belongs behind the wheel of anything.

    That racing was honestly on the level of 90's touring car racing, that's the highest praise I can possibly give.

    The Stadium Super Trucks series is awesome. I grew up watching the Mickey Thompson series and was there for the first SST race in Phoenix (even got to take a lap WITH Robby Gordon for the LCQ).

    I hope that this racing series is something you continue on with. You're a serious contender with mad talent. They better watch out!

    This literally feels like the end of a movie or something. On top most of the race and the last second, it's gone. Amazing race, best video in a while!

      What I thought. Like the protagonist needed to learn a hard lesson about arrogance or something and makes a bad mistake at the end of a race in the lead and then gets chucked to the bottom of the leaderboard. Protagonist goes back home and becomes better than ever and wins the "big one". Champagne shower and getting the girl (but Cleetus already has) as the last scene.

    They're not "mistakes", they're "learning experiences" - when you accept that, you're going to be MUCH happier with what you've been able to learn so far, and so quickly.
    I think you will have impressed all the other drivers and teams with your debut drive - from all accounts, they're not easy trucks to drive at the limit.
    I've seen Toyota's WEC race car break down on the last lap of a 24 hour race when well in the lead, and the leader in (IIRC) the Paris-Dakar endo' on literally the last dune and within sight of the finish line. Sh*t happens, it's how you deal with it that makes the man..

    Definitely do it again. Nerves and excitement got the best of you. Happens to everyone. Don’t let it get to your head. You hung with the best of them.
