I remember the day I found Lovebites. This was the second video I watched. The first was Holy War. I instantly had a new all-time favorite band. They are literally perfect to me. I had seen it all. Been to many concerts over the years. But I never seen anything like Lovebites!
the first Lovebites track that I listened to this video version and that made me become a fan immediately. I couldn't believe my ears and what I was seeing. I replayed this video over and over again and each time it was a big slap in the face.

They do it live just as good. Apparently Miyako and Asami wrote this one as a Lovebites signature hence the theme of fighting for what they believed their image and music should be like as opposed to being told how it should be.
Haruna is a world top class drummer , and when you talk in stamina , imagine the stamina necessary to keep that beat in a two hours concert , and not only with her hands , those feet are unstoppable and the precision its unreal , haruna its like a swiss watch , always on time , she is only 4' 9 " but give her a drumm kit and she becames a giant , she's amazing. Absolutely yes!! Economy motion delivers their flawlessness as well. They don't do excessive stage physical performance, and it renders better result in their music, and their sound quality doesn't require jumbo mambo on stage anyway.
They played this song Live in both of their latest DVDs and yes it's just as flawless as you see here!! Another song where Haruna runs a marathon! But at this point from what ive seen im sure a song like this is just a warm up for her!! 🤘🙂🎸🥁

The Goddesses of Metal never cease to amaze! If you can find this live it’s absolutely worth watching. I’ve been a fan for years and I still get blown away by their talent. Any songs you react to next, you’ll enjoy because they have 0 bad songs. 🤘🏻🐺
The bands anthem but also a salute to Kurosawa's 7 Samurai masterpiece which they clearly identify with here. All these women are insanely talented and world class, yet it is not their individual talents that amazes, rather it is their ability to play together in total sync and perform many of these truly amazing songs that they have written, scored and arranged to perfection as a group that is stunning. They are always in pursuit of perfection and with their talents and practice skills we get the flawless performances from this band especially LIVE. BTW great reaction and Haruna/drums at 4' 9" is a match for any of those "metal" drummers, frankly many of the female Japanese drummers not just in J/Metal or J/Rock but also Jazz are absolutely jaw dropping to watch performing. Haruna is the runaway mini nuke who doesn't stop for an entire concert and yet never breaks a sweat ever. Here the band nails your face to the wall and that guitar clinic is utterly memorable. The LIVE versions on the Blu-rays are just as stunning as these women honestly sound better LIVE than their studio or music videos which as you see are exceptional.
Yes, and yes, and one more yes. The best thing about Lovebites is their ensemble, the total coordination of the sound. The perfect rhythm section. MIho and Haruna, they are extremely capable bassist and drummer but they always stay in the background because they are supports to solo instruments which is the vocal and the twin guitars, because that is what the rhythm section must do. They never play solo except for a single case Eagle Fly Free cover which is the only cover they play, that was for fun as studio live encore. And also the vocal and the twin guitars, they also always play as a part of total sound, ensemble. They always support each other as a part of one whole great sound. Five world best class musicians make one sound. Nothing can be better than this.
@@gatograto your comment on the rhythm section is perfect. MIHO and HARUNA are in the pocket so perfectly for this band. But those of us that understand that talent know exactly what skill that takes and the commitment to the band. Other bands like BAND MAID have compositions that allow the rhythm section to cut loose more so they are noticed. But like you see...the skills here are as good and perfectly matched to the band's sound. This is the mark of master-class musicians IMO.
@@waterwalker9600 You are perfectly right again. And Usually small sized bands like metal bands take style of work shop. Work shop is a group of musicians play together and show off their skills. Typically jazz, blue grass, and old rock. It is basically for musician's fun. On the other hand there are bands like Lovebites, more like ensemble or symphony. A group of musicians creates one big sound, this aims to build a sound itself rather than showing off each musician's skill.
I am an old school metal head, and one of My favourite bands is Halloween, you got to watch the video of these guys doing there cover of when eagles fly free, and I am sad to say improving on the original that's how good lovebites are

I understand your point about MVs, and you are fair. This is my (and most of Wolfpack's because this topic pops up once awhile ) opinion. We love live better than studio recordings because the player's sound buries in the backtracks. A Frozen Serenade is a typical case to me. It was just studio recorded sound track and I didn't it like much but I just love the live version. Of course, It does have a beautiful video but more than that, it sounds more real and strong, the studio recording sounds more like easy listening background. It happens to Winds of Transylvania as well. There is one another piece I'd love to hear live, Dystopia Symphony. It'll be a very interesting case. If it is with orchestra, would be nice. About guitar duel, I agree with you. That is more like fusion with a perfect coordination, it is a guitar duo to me. About drumming, drumming is so brutal yet Haruna is very conscious about details. Her drum fills, cymbal works, even with her ice bell which she uses often is so effective. Yes, Miyako's sweep picking is so smooth and tender yet brutal. She does it very often in her riff in background. You can watch beautiful work in her solos of Today is the Day, Scream for Me, and Shadow Maker.

Great reaction. Midori looks so badass with the eye patch. That is about a quad crescendo for the solo. Haruna has the best stamina of all. She is the engine of the band. This is melodic speed metal. Miyako wrote a masterpiece. Asami kills it on this song. The end note she sings is a bit short but how high was that note? Dang! This is the one song I like the official video version better than the live version. It is in the way the coda is different live.
