    Some day when Blender is finally represented by a full feature film and the masses are convinced of its potential, people will look back at this video and the humble beginnings of the people who did the heavy lifting. I'm proud to be a part of this community.

    Is Agent 327 going to be made into a full length film? I would love it if it was!!!

      KingCharles111 that was the plan I think. I think they wanted to see how the people like it so they made this prequel.

      No. They made it just as a proof of concept. Meaning to show what one can achieve with their software. Would have loved if they turned it into a movie.

    As I said at the video, standing ovation for Agent 327 and Blender's creators. What a big leap for open source projects.

    Great job Ton made Blender free. Just imagine what people would miss out on if it didn't exist!
    And this is why I had to use Blender over any other 3D program.

    Seeing this video made me thought that it took a whole team of animators to do this awesome short 5 minute film. Animation is hard but at the sametime its fun, seeing your rendered animation work well pays off all the work and time.😀😀😀

    Why not ask the help of the community as well? I mean, we may not be able to raise that much money, but we could contribute with something.

    • @tobak30
      @tobak30 6 років тому +3

      ckat609 there is already help from the community. Blender cloud and development fund is funneling money into the institute and the studio improving the software and everything around it.

    • @martinn5626
      @martinn5626 6 років тому +9

      ckat609 because it is really hard to organize it and lot of people would contribute things that can't be used because the they aren't high quality

    • @ckat609
      @ckat609 6 років тому +1

      I meant starting a kickstarter or something. I know a lot of people already contribute with subscriptions, but I´m sure a lot of them would gladly give a bit more. As far as assets go, I totally agree that it would be difficult to manage quality. They mentioned in one their podcasts that they did try it for Sintel and it was kind of a mess. Despite being put down by a lot people, it is a fantastic piece of software. Does it have issues? Yes, of course, but so what? It’s like the endless pc vs mac, ps vs xbox, point and shoot vs dslr, canon vs nikon conversations... at the end of the day, if you know your shit, it doesn’t matter what you’re using and these guys know their shit! I don’t know, I guess I just wish Blender had more chances to shine and was given the recognition it deserves

      I agree, I think Blender needs a better marketing system.

    • @elvor8512
      @elvor8512 5 років тому +5

      They didn't use motion capture for this though, Hjalti, the animator, just used the video as reference for animation.

    Am I the only one who finds the character design in that movie kinda lazy and outdated? It looks like something if I would show it around everyone would say "see, blender can't do good characters". I mean they don't even look that out of place but I kinda whish they would have gone more into another direction. But that is just my personal opinion. Because you can clearly see effort is put into this if you look at the background, seriously this is way way way above illumination animation, actually near Disney level even.

    • @MrMcSnuffyFluffy
      @MrMcSnuffyFluffy 6 років тому +2

      Lazy and outdated is a bit harsh, but in my opinion, the characters are uninteresting. Why not do something that would appeal you a younger generation with more appealing characters? Something like the movie "Home" or "Wall-e" etc. would have turned out great with this amount of effort put into it.

    • @BergsArt
      @BergsArt 6 років тому +4

      Ezydenias Just joinin in the conversation, i think the character design is close to a proper appealing character. The posters and images prove that. I guess what they lack is an actual soul in the character, because in the test, their personalities are so generic and plain. I think oce they get the story goin they can manage more personal flaws and expressions, body language and such.
