I’m in Bay Area, North CA and recommended to have 2 separate HVAC for my 3000 sqft 2-stories: EL16XC1 and SL280V. They’re 3 tons. Do these system provide good air quality, temperature consistency, and low noise level? One of the furnace is next to my bedroom.
The furnace are super quiet. The SL280v is the most quiet furnace you can buy. In terms of air quality, that depends on the filter that is being installed. I would go with a Merv 13 filter on these systems. EL16XC1 is a single stage Lennox Elite system. It is the most popular Lennox system and is generally pretty good.
I am being recommended a Lennox 3 ton, EL16XC1 with a Merit 3.5 ton CBA25UHV air handler. Does this sound like a good match? Should they work together ok? Any concerns I should worry about? Our house is almost 1,500 sq ft. Thanks!
No heat pump, I live in South Florida so I don’t think that’s required : ). They managed to get a matching Elite handler, 3.5 ton, CBA27UHE-041. Anything to be concerned about with mixing the 3 ton condenser with 3.5 ton handler?
@@michaellaura1231 There is no problem with using a 3.5 ton and a 3 ton system. There is a problem when you use a 3 ton with a 5 ton. The system is close enough in capacity.
My outdoor equipment is old, can it be replaced?
Costco is recommending the Lennox 4 ton LRP14GX. Is that good? Single or 2 stage?, Merit, Elite or signature?
It’s good - they really only make 2 package units - 14ba,d 16 seer - 14 is one speed - 16 is 2 speed - LRP14bis a good unit

What is the benefit to pair a single stage Ac with a 2-stage furnace?

@@TV-kd3ru most of your noise comes from the furnace. 2 stage furnace is much more quiet than single stage furnace.

Hi Michael. I believe they are giving you a EL16XP1 (heatpump condenser) with a Merit air handler. That seems about right for your house size.

Interesting Lennox claims 28 SEER but the Daikin DZ20VC continues to win Energy Stars most efficent
Many models win ‘most efficient’ - splitting hairs -
@@SteveG916 Energy Star is the "standard" in US and Daikin took it. The interesting piece if that Daikins stated SEER is less than Lennox...
Actually lennox units are going to be in a lawsuit because their rating is lower then advertised
Good to know. I thought energy ratings are conducted by a 3rd party UL or ETL. It is bad if companies fake their data like VW.
