Thank you for making this video. This was well worth the time watching it; very informative. I just bought the Peak, set it up yesterday, and watched this. It provided an excellent overview and gave me insight into the features and functionality. Nice work!
Very good explanation. Just bought my Peak a few weeks ago and i try to find and watch good tutorials to learn this masterpiece, and this one helps a lot. Thanks.
Very cool and very well explaint. Thank you very much. You gave me the point to decide to buy this Synth. Very good in talking and Speech. Thats important for People that are not nativ speaking english.Best regards from Germany.
Hi. Nice tutorial. But I think local off in the midi section of the settings does not mean that the arp is only set to the midi-out but that the keyboard doesn't play the internal engine (midi-controller mode). And the animate buttons are taken from the mininova (which has 8 of them). They basically give you the possibility to change various parameters with just one press. That means you first decide which parameters you want to be affected and how much and then you put them on the animate-button you want. Then you can toggle the parameter changes or press on the hold button beneath to hold the changes.
From the manual: In normal operation (with Local set to On), all of Peak’s physical controls are active, and also transmit their settings as MIDI data, provided that CC/NRPN on Menu Page 5 is set to either Transmit or Rec+Tran (see below). With Local set to Off, the controls no longer vary any parameters in Peak’s synth engine, but still transmit their settings as MIDI data in the same way.
Yeah, that's what I meant. You don't access peak's engine no more (also with the keys, not only with the arp) so you can use it as a midicontroller to control extern devices
hi! good tutorial - thank you. key sync in osc-menue means to my knowledge if the osc should re-start on each note-on or not. i personally do like this feature. chris
Excellent demonstration on how to use the Peak to create your sounds. Maybe not enough emphasis on the 24K megahertz clock of the DAC oscillators that eliminate any aliasing. It sounds analog to me. This is a very flexible 3 DAC 8 voice synth. looks like lots of fun. Not so expensive that no one could afford it.
nice, i want to hear more osc fm, i got 2 supernova , maybe will sell 1 to get the peak ,.,., no editable arp wtf , one of the strongest point of the supernova is the arpeggiator
Question. Backing up all the saved patches in the Peak. Can you use a USB stick to back up too or do you have to be connected to a computer to back it up?
@@joeyxl3456 I have the Hydra, PEAK, Minilogue xd, and microKorg. The Peak is an amazing tool for live performance. Very versatile, great sound, and fantastic efx. You won't be disappointed sound wise and by its utilitarian design. I would say as far as user ease and flow the peak is equal to the XD. Sound-wise the XD is pretty exceptional - especially with added Mutable Instruments user oscs installed. But Peak is a very very close second in raw sound. The hydra is insane and full of on-the-fly performance as well. So easy to improvise sound design nearly infinite sound designing but isnt as easy to just let go and explore like XD and PEAK - not to be confused with the Hydra's amazing ability to go deep - hydra hands down wins gold medal for that!

Great tutorial, thank you!!!
Thanks for that Video and Greetings from Germany.

Yes!! Thank you so much. Just picked this up. This is the best vid on this. You’ve been a god send since the beginning of my synthesized journey! 🫀
Enjoy
Thank you. Best explanation I've seen of this powerful synth.
Happy to be useful!
thank you for your tutorial on this synthesizer. mine comes in tomorrow and I cannot wait to work on it.
beautifully lit, HD, up close from directly in front - perfect.
Watched again but cast on the TV 📺 so I can see it up close, makes a big difference!
Thanks !
I think you used the animate button correctly, with just too much depth on the pitch modulation (hence it went out of hearable range). Good review!
Great lesson, well structured! Very good teacher. Thank you!
Happy it was helpful.

What's the animate button for?
It is a quick way to change a couple of values . I.e. bring the pitch up by a fifth.
8:42 what happened there, it jumped to 47?

Thx for the clear explanation, I'll get more out of my PEAK! Looking forward to the follow-ups!
Alright alright... I'll buy it.
I bought it. :P Best Novation Peak vid on youtube.
4 weeks later /watch?v=5lD8wd87nUI

I’ll make a short video about using FM feature.

*Read the Manual, you can download it !!*
It doesn't have a slot for a USB stick. You have to back it up to a computer.
My Peak arrived couple days ago. Really easy to get creative - and super fun. Exceeded my expectations - and my expectations were pretty high 🎵♥️🎵
what other synths do you have?. how does it compare sound wise?. thanks.

If it's that sophisticated, why doesen't it sound like Andromeda?
Because Novation was not trying to imitate an Andromeda?
"I like Novation, they have big knobs" ;)
They are easier to use than a Roland SE-02 for exemple. Where the knobs are small and close forget her. Maybe I have big fingers?
@@Nu-trix just sounded funny, in Australia a knob is slang for penis haha
Oups.
that eyebrow piercing is dope
