Lmfao JR : "what that don't piss me off shirt ?"
Edit for PG era: "Don't make me mad!"
Edit for reality era: ''#Angry#Upset#Karmacomesaround👊👊''
That actually was the official edit for the Jeff Jarrett action figure at the time.
Dolores Valadez is believed to have been born on September 17, 1947. She was raised in San Bernardino, California by her stepmother Maria Valadez. Maria was a midwife and medicine woman, and she was considered something of a pillar of San Bernardino's Mexican-American community. Maria always told Dolores that she had been left on her doorstep in a suitcase one night, something Dolores could never accept. Although Maria adopted two other children named Vickie and Mingo and told them who their biological parents were, she refused to answer any questions Dolores had regarding her birth family. Maria died when Dolores was in fourth grade and Dolores was sent to various foster homes until she aged out of the system in 1965. The birth of Dolores' own daughter Erika in 1970 renewed her interest in finding her birth family. She was eventually able to find a record of her baptism at San Salvador Catholic Church in Colton, California. In the baptism record, her godparents were listed as Rodolfo Minjares and Rufina Rodriguez, names Dolores herself did not recognize. Teresa Quiroz, an administrative associate for the church who was interviewed in the segment, stated that it was in fact fairly common in the 1940s for the parents of children born of out wedlock to be listed as being the godparents. Dolores was also able to obtain medical records from when she was hospitalized for diphtheria as a child. Those records, dated April 2, 1952, indicated that her stepmother Maria Valadez was in fact her aunt and that her mother, listed as Esther Valadez, was deceased. Dolores believed that "Esther" may have been an alias for another family member and that this person gave her to Maria to raise. Such an arrangement was not unheard of in large Mexican families with multiple siblings if someone could not adequately care for another child. Once the exchange took place, the subject was never to be discussed again. After hearing rumors that a long-time family friend was in fact her real mother, Dolores decided to talk to this woman. The woman denied being her mother, although Dolores did closely resemble the woman's other daughters. Dolores' foster brother, Mingo Arriola, was said to have told Dolores as a child that he knew the truth about her birth family, but when interviewed for the segment, he claimed he didn't remember ever having said such a thing and disavowed knowledge of Dolores' roots.
@@TheCancerMan You're right! I remember a friend of mind had that JJ figure with the Don't make me mad shirt lol
I forgot how well D'Lo was pushed in 99. The trickle down effect. When business is good even the lower card guys seem to do well.
Saw this on the Network last month and it all came back to me.
Sadly the botched powerbomb on Droz ended it immediately. D'Lo really deserved much more in the business.
I don't think wwf had a real mid or low card back then, every1 had a storyline, every1 was in a title run, every1 was over, there were times I would tune into raw looking forward for tanka n funaki matches
D'Lo Brown was my favorite wrestler in 1999
As far as DLo was concerned you can thank Vince Russo for that
The lamest way to “win” a title wasn’t when Mideon found it in Shane’s bag...it was ehen Hacksaw Jim Duggan found the TV title in the trash can...in a different city from where Scott Hall threw it away.
thats way funnier tho lol
What about Kanyon being handed the US Title, since Booker T had the WCW Title too?
How about Bischoff handing triple h the world title?
@@sheepdavis At least Triple H had a storyline excuse, he was Raw's number one contender to a title that could not be defended on Raw anymore
@@sheepdavis Also Asuka (@Kana Chan TV) getting handed the Women's Championship after MITB 2020 all because Becky Lynch went from "The Man" to "The Mom" thanks to Seth Rollins getting the "Irish Lass-Kicker" pregnant.
Would you ever consider a breakdown of the '24 hour' Hardcore Championship period? I loved that gimmick.
Bugsy McCoy I think he may have t though I am not sure
Attitude era podcast did a very good special episode on that
Man I miss that belt. They should bring it back in some capacity. Maybe as a belt that can only change in some type of stipulation match?
New Flesh The company DDT has both a belt that is only defended in stipulation matches and a 24/7 belt. If you can get past the language barrier, and since a 24/7 title will probably never return to WWE, it's a pretty entertaining company.
I've been thinking for a while they should bring in a WWE Network title. A belt that'd randomly defended in fun gimmmick matches on the network. Like randomly one day you'd get a pop up to say someones in a title match and there would be a live feed to the match just come up. Not on any particular show, i mean it wouldn't even have to be 'live' they could be prerecorded but then put out at random times and it made out to be kayfabe live.
16:43 😂😂 I'd forgotten about Triple Hs fetish for wearing leather flat caps backwards in the late 90s/early 2000s
Cypress Will seems like a lot of people did
Steph wore the same thing 😂😂 she looked ridiculous
Wrestler are known for staying decades behind when it comes to fashion. Maybe it's in their contracts?
It’s 100% a ripoff of Shane Douglas
Fanny Packs.
The overlapping storylines was such a great thing seeing 2/3/4 storylines overlapping made it so much more exciting
I think that's what made it feel real and relatable; real life is complex!
Dlo was the greatest European champion of all time
How so? Considering angle, Jericho, Christian, xpac, Jeff hardy, bulldog, ddp, and micheals held the title as well. How does d-lo outrank those eight other guys? Hell, angle wasn’t even pinned when he lost that title! I’d say you had a solid case if angle had been pinned to lose that title. I know micheals laid down to lose it but he pinned taker in the first hitc while holding the title. No matter what the circumstances of what happened leading to that win, it’s still a win.
@@robertwetmore7655 Xpac and Bulldog are the only ones on that list even remembered for holding the title. I think the only time Shawn defended it is when he laid down for Triple H lol. Jericho held it for 1 day lol
Youd have a better idea you mentioned Regal, Eddie and Triple H.
Those head bob's though. 😂
18:07 "the Rock just jerked Helmsley off the top rope" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀lol
True
I love Hardcore title bouts from this period. They got so ridiculous.
therealman703 he really did cause he had matches everywhere
Yeah i loved the 24/7 rule
I remember this hilarious moment at Wrestlemania 18 where Christian won the Hardcore title by opening a door that hit Molly Holly in the face knocking her out and allowing him to pin her and win the belt.
Xehanort10 I miss that kind of stuff Wwe has forgotten how to just have fun
i hated how it became like a joke after a while and 6 people would show up to try to win it the wwe should have kept the hardcore title some of my favorite matches were for the hardcore title
King: My favorite outfit yet
JR: What the don't piss me off shirt?
10:24 HAS to be the biggest bump Kane ever took
+LOKITUPISBACK I know, right? At least the scariest.
LOKITUP no. Hell in a cell vs mankind
Haha, I’m surprised he didn’t find a way to get a knee down first
That's fine he was probably in the best shape of his life in 1999. He was lean and mean and still had tree trunks for arms
This PPV has a special place in my heart since it was the first PPV I saw live on tv. I went to my brothers house to watch on the old cable boxes. I even recorded it and still have it on VHS to this day. Love this show!
I've spent far too much time watching your videos. I don't know why, but they are so damn entertaining. Please keep up the classic ppv reviews!
Thomas Baric I agree 😅😅
Stings voice - I AGREE
Nostalgia + information + WWE = addiction
Wish modern day's WWE didn't think overlapping storylines just meant running tag matches with 2 feuds every single week.
TheDOPDeity lol exactly
I love how Zane wears the purple sweatsuit for the cruiserweights...wait a second
"... serves you right for the AWF, Terry"
I LOL'd at that line
Hugo Noriega lmao me too
me too! Terry Taylor, in the words of Jim Cornette, "that Cousin fucking, Chicken fucking son of a bitch." 😂
I literally just watched that episode yesterday too, so I got the reference.
This is one of the few WWE PPVs to be rated TV-MA on the WWE Network!
Eh See why is it rated TV-MA?
Royal Rumble 99 is also TVMA
"What, that 'Don't Piss Me Off' shirt?"...Good ol' JR...
Shortly after this both The Undertaker and Austin were gone for like a year. Then Taker came back as American Bad Ass
The Raw after this when he cut the bizarre Vampiro influenced promo with Show about riding bikes into the desert was the start of the transition to the Biker although he then had to take an extended time out with bad knees.
Djarra That "desert" was supposed to be WCW, and the American Badass gimmick was created for Taker to use in WCW, but things didn't work out (obviously).
Not so sure, that is what Nash says but contrasts what Bishof and others says and more importantly contrasts with what Undertaker himself said a few years ago.
Geoff Brown I thought The Undertaker was suspended for a year
Undertaker was healing injuries and as Leo had galbladder surgery
When I was a kid I never really "got" the J.O.B. Squad. However as an adult I think it's one of the most hilarious and clever gimmicks I've seen.
You did this so quick I thought I would be waiting longer
Magpie's Nest Productions thank you for requesting this o don't have the money to be a patron
"That may be my favorite outfit yet!"
"What, the Don't Piss Me Off shirt?"
God I love the chemistry between JR and Lawler
Vince was in crutches because he was in a motorcycle accident. (Not kayfabe, that really happened)
Goes to show just how much wrestling has fallen since these days. We go from real simple, yet effective and well done angles on the PRE-SHOW to get us hyped for the match; to Michael Cole telling us what Roman Reigns said on Twitter. Seriously.
bigb860 What sucks the most that WWE currently has probably their best roster in history, considering in-ring ability, yet everything else is lack-luster, the storylines just doesn’t have this kind of storytelling and impact, and I think mostly what effects rivalries is that the wrestlers are so limited today on what they can do and say. Attitude Era necessarily didn’t have the best matches, but the storylines and characters were so good that you didn’t need a match to be a technical masterpiece
You are right Batman!
@@evilTaker90V2 I think a big issues is that they have tv writers putting together the stories instead of wrestling people that know how to tell wrestling stories
@@johnepants you’re write/right! LOL VERY SIMILAR TO CURRENT DAY COMIC BOOK WRITERS HOW HAVE AGENDAS TO DO SOMEHTING ELSE AND SPEW IT IN COMICS AND ARE NOT ACTUAL COMIC BOOK FANS, and u see with them forcing it down our throats with a GAY ROBIN OR GAY CAPTAIN AMERICA, a black Spider-Man that nobody cares for but because BLM AND WHITE AMERICAS GUILT ABOUT IT NOW WE SEE A BLACK CAPTAIN AMERICA, SAME FOR WWE, BOBBY LASHLEY BECOMES WWE CHAMP AND BIG E after him b4 his horrible injury
My first PPV as a kid. Laughed at X-Pac giving Chyna a bronco buster, he’d give her one in real life a few years later 😂
Did they smash or something?! What’s the story with that? I’m legitimately curious now 😢
@@user-qy8vr4mn8iit’s a full blown film you can find on a special site
Using the jackhammer as a lower impact move may have been on purpose, to take some piss out of Goldberg's domination.
Just like Disco Inferno using the Stunner.
It's possible. My favorite instance of this is the first time Chris Hero was released from wwe - he started using the pedigree on the indies and had everyone kick out at 1.
21:10 holy crap, Austin nearly knocked Vince's head off lol!!!
C'mon! That Al Snow performance was some of his best. At least deserved 2.5 stars on pure entertainment.
Al Snow Actually Fought Undertaker In 1993
Snow made the most of his Euro belt run too.
I'm pretty sure X-Pac hit Chyna with the bronco buster quite a few times, just wasn't on WWF TV.
I'm glad someone brought up the black box. I had it from December 1995-February 2000. The Monday Night Wars were about to really kick off in January 1996. Great time to be a fan.
The chemistry between The Rock and HHH was just amazing. The Rock and Austin too. A great time to be a fan.
My favorite wrestling rivalry of all is The Rock/Triple H. As great as Austin and the Rock was, I prefered HHH/Rock just a little bit more.
Review DX in your house 1997. It my second favorite pay per view. And it a little bit in the Attitude Era
Lmao I remember hating that one cuz it had a million DQs 😅
I can't believe it's already been over a year since you started these. I love these reviews, it's one of my "go to bed" tv shows.
Side note. Your channel and Nakamura vs Zane are the reasons I came back from my 8 year wrestling break. Thanks for your passion and hardwork.
Side, side note. The wrestling episode of "Its always Sunny" is on".
This event is TV-MA on WWE Network
Also, the October 21 2002 episode of RAW is TV-MA
Fully Loaded 99 is TV-MA, but I don't know why
The October 21 2002 episode of Raw is TV-MA because of Katie Vick
Kinda Shocked That WWE Decided To Make It That
Probably because Road Dogg humped Billy Gunn's butt.
I vividly remember Jarrett cutting a promo on Stone Cold, saying that he better not think about going after HIS IC Title after Stone Cold had lost his right to forever go after the world championship again. Prior to winning the world title back, that was one of the stipulations for Stone Cold and the Undertaker match. Things were much more intertwined back in the day.
1999 was the best year of the WWF. The height of the attitude era imo. Absolutely loved this period of wrestling.
Thank you! 2000 is so overrated.
@@morganedwards3966 omg yes. That years Wrestlemania sucked. And Austin was out a good portion of that year too. 2000’s Rumble was definitely far superior to 99’s tho. I rewatched the 99 Royal Rumble a couple months ago and it was so boring and dumb. I always hated the way it ended. Austin was read hot in 99, to have Vince win that event was really foolish.
Man I remember sitting in my living room watching this ppv! I was an 11 year old with out a worry in the world!
Dlo's running powerbomb was so amazing. If only the Droz incident hadn't burned it.
Yeah Droz was such a dumbass.
@@SirPunzalot damn, that's a bit harsh. Probably true.
I LOVED this show. was one of the ones I had on VHS. must have watched the first blood match a hundred times
Jarrett getting stunned and Austin flipping him off as he's going down was hilarious lol
I want 14 year old Brian to review a ppv from the attitude era
Nightmare Fuel I think a dueling review would be awesome, where young Brian gives the thoughts of a PPV at the time but modern gives the view of watching it back on the network just going "ew..."
I think they should bring back the Television Championship as a lower mid card belt.
TheOlympicHero1 except that WWE never had one
TheOlympicHero1 how do wwe bring back a belt they never had
Well they do own WCW so technically they DID have a TV title.
NXT should get a midcard belt called the Network Championship, themed off of the TV title, but since NXT is on the WWE Network, it's called such
Andrew G 6773 the U.K. Championship seems to be acting as a midcard belt for NXT
Them black boxes were the shit. Had stolen cable at my parents for most of the 90's
This was the first pay-per-view my great City of Buffalo New York hosted we were so excited for this pay-per-view sold out in like 15 minutes you can see me in the three friends I came with like 12 times during the pay-per-view on the network is an awesome day greetings from Buffalo New York
Vince was in crutches due to a motorcycle accident he had earlier in the summer
Fraz 18 likes for a fact?!? That's like me saying the Nazis won the war against Poland. How many likes do I get
MaritimePizza It's an answer to a question in the video... people saw it and thought "thanks, now I don't have to go through the effort of finding out myself or wondering about it for all time."
Dylan Hallila yeah but then that means this little fucker is a know it all
MaritimePizza Not at all. He knew the answer to this specific question and informed the rest of us. I really don't see what's so bad about that.
What the fuck are u talking about
Brain zane is the nostalgia critic of wrestling
Theangry Autisticgamer I never thought of thought til now. 👍
WIth no one hating the sketches, because their cut off into their own videos.
Lightspeeds *they're
Theangry Autisticgamer i compare him to AVGN
No, Brian is entertaining and informative.
Eddie Guerrero vs John Cena in an iron circle match was pretty good. I forget if it was on Smackdown or on a PPV.
Shawn May SD. And was a Latino Heat Parking Lot Brawl,
I love how Zane says "WWF" like the Micro Machines guy. Can't unhear it.
Goldberg had lost the WCW world heavyweight title in 1998.
Andrew Blogg I just commented that also. He lost it in December of 1998
He got cheated out of defending it though because if I'm correct he lost it because Scott Hall tased him with taser stick thing
Yeah, he had won it a few weeks before this on Nitro in the Georgia Dome against Hulk Hogan. As others pointed out he would lose the title at Starrcade at the end of 1998.
Aaahh, the first time Chyna took the Bronco Buster. I bet the two of them did that together a lot drugged up!
Chris Bishop 😮
Actually Chyna Took The Tombstone From Undertaker In 1997
Too soon
@@futuregohan4837 Tessa Blanchard eats Sami Callihan's sit-out piledrivers for breakfast last few years, so?! Point of Bronco buster is like with stinkface, it's a humiliating move.
Now then, we have dick flips, boob-AND-ball-plexes now :3
The thing where Stone Cold would beat up Jeff Jarrett and nothing happens I kinda think that it eventually became apart of Austin's contract where double J had to take the beating
This event holds a special place in my heart because they're the best seats i've ever had to a show, front row center on the camera side. I'm the lanky 13 year old in the black WWF fire logo shirt. You can see my D-Lo Head Wiggle at 7:30 lol
the iron circle match it self turns out to be the begin of the parking lot brawl.
Goddamn I love Al Snow. What an underrated performer. Shoulda got pushed more. He was so fucking over in ECW. The amount of mannequin heads they sold is ridiculous.
Brian you were talking about the end of an Era. It reminded me of my first memory of the Attitude Era (I stopped watching wrestling after like 1993). It was Austin walking to McMahon in the ring, loading a gun, in 1998. What a great intro to the Attitude Era.
I was at this event as a kid. Thanks for this video just had childhood flashbacks watching this and remembered every fight.
"Should be a good one..." Famous last words lol.
Still pretty sure Austin randomly attacking Jarrett was due to Austin had started dating Debra around that time and decided to mess with Jeff just because he could.
I wouldn't doubt that lol
My favourite PPV of all time must of watched this about 15 times on VHS! Awesome review!
HellmuthOnTilt4 Why not a 16th!?
Adam Vanderpluym I said about 15 could well of been 16!
;)
T B A giant tape player that you used before DVDs 👍🏻
Kane & X-Pac was the greatest thing ever. Never been so emotionally involved with wrestling as when those two had each others back. I was so devastated and heartbroken when X-Pac turned on Kane 😥
Totally agreed about having a lower-mid title belt. Give them something to fight for!
The idea behind lower midcard titles for Raw and Smackdown is a great idea. Can imagine the European Title being reintroduced on Raw by Cesaro and maybe an Internet Title on Smackdown introduced by Zack Ryder (don't make it HIS Internet Title, like actually make a brand new title and call it the Internet Title) and maybe have these titles be defended every week on Main Event, give some spotlight to that show. Also surprised the UK Title hasn't become the midcard title for NXT yet, think they could use one at this point, a lot of talent isn't getting some recognition and this would be a great way to do so
Caleb Hoskins mania 34 the rock returns to introduce "the peoples champion(ship)"
Zane, I remember that McMahon was in a motorcycle accident before the Raw of the contract signing. Also, Chyna was not involved in the heel faction of DX, so it was only the 4 guys, not all 5.
TheRazrSnake when they first formed the 5 man dx faction after wm 15 they were heels
My grandparents had the black box too, so I got to watch a lot of the PPV's back in the 90's.
Fans today don't know how lit Heat was on ppv nights. I love the continuity. I always remember tuning in and feeling so sad when it ended and we didn't get the ppv
Not going to lie. I laughed my ass off when JR said "Maybe in SF".
this was one of your better reviews, congrats you got this one right
Add reffing the Big Show Kane match to the list of completely random Bob Holly sightings
As to why Hardcore Holly was the special guest referee: this was the very beginning of the "superheavyweight" gimmick that he used from 1999-2000. He would come out every week on Raw, claim with a complete straight face to be 7 feet tall and 400 pounds, and categorically refuse to face anyone who wasn't in his weight class. As part of the angle, he would pick fights with the Big Show and Kane and either get completely ignored or swatted away like he was nothing. It was actually pretty funny.
Brian Zane vince was in crutches because of a motorcycle accident (something like that) which i think was a shoot. 4th of july weekend. the raw when he signed the contract in austins blood he was in a wheelchair.
Larry Bryant Jr. Yeah, it was wiping out on a motorcycle.
Steve Smith tbh I didn’t know that at all I seriously thought it was cause Kane and undertaker broke his ankle lol
i remember watching this live in my cousins house lol , great ppv
First PPV that I was bought on VHS as a kid. Was my pride and joy! Watched it loads! Good times!
Boss Man and Snow fighting in front of the Skyway. Love it. Ive walked that area many times. So awesome to see it involved with WWE. I forgot all about this PPV
“I wish we had a lower mid card title today” and then we got the 24/7 championship
JR with the out of left field gay joke 😂😂
When I was a kid I legitimately thought Stone Cold got hit by a car because of just how much the stunt double looked like him, I just remember my jaw on the floor. Hell I remember the Pillmans got a gun segment and how they cut to commercial just as he fired, none of us moved from our spots and flipped out because we didn't know what happened until it came back from commercial it was brtual.
😂😂😂 the black box! We had one too .. Growing up I never had to pay for ppvs from early 90s until after the attitude era
Love these videos, lots of nostalgia during lockdown. Never noticed how often Rock loses, amazing how he is known for one of the best ever with the amount of loses he took, shows how truly great he was!
He truly had the booking of a jobber
Unholy Alliance, awful theme? Are you kidding? Thats one of my all time favorite themes.
Haha same that theme was awesome
that story overlap was beautiful.
Fully Loaded 1999 was the first PPV that I got to watch as a child. I still remember how excited I was for that austin/undertaker match.
The Unholy Alliance's music was awesome what the heck are you talking about?
+THECAWMASTER98

Lbj wasn't that bad of a us president
Lyndon Baines Johnson??
Why do you hate LeBron James?
Also reliving that X Pac Kane moment literally brought tears to my eyes, they were prob my favorite team when I was like 12
No matter what you think of the matches... The storylines in the Attitude Era were brilliant!
"It ain't gonna get bigger by looking at it, brother."
- Jeff Jarrett to Steve Austin on his paycheck in his father's territory.
That's a good line hahah
Makes me happier Stone Cold ended up with Debra the next year. Wonder if that was part of the revenge
is that a real quote? lol
From what I remember, yes it was a real quote, but it was Jerry Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett’s father) that said it.. the same guy that was paying Austin..
Something that Steve Austin would remember and refused to work with Jeff Jarrett later on, because of that incident.. or at
least that’s how the story goes..
@@TheBullet0012 best way to get back at a fucked up booker, not only refuse to ever put over his son, but bury him on national t.v. every chance you get.

Zane you champ. One of the first PPV's I ever bought on VHS. Pleasure to watch this :-)
Oh wow, this vid just jogged loose an early wrestling memory of mine. I remember Shamrock announcing and selling the story of this match against Blackman. Good times, great vid.
i'm starting to think DLO Brown isn't a friend of the show lol.....
IDK I think that Jim Duggan finding the WCW TV title in the trash and defending it was a little worse.
Holy shit I remember begging my dad to buy this PPV & record it on VHS so I could watch it over & over again as a kid. I was 14 at the time of the show & thought the first blood stipulation was great! I honestly thought after seeing the clip again that Austin killed Shane with that chair shot he was hit so hard. I totally agree with how there's not enough overlapping stories in todays WWE but there's not much we can do about that. I also agree that there needs to be a couple of lower mid-card titles like the European title in the WWE today. Anyway, love the review this was probably one of my favorite shows during the attitude era. Keep up the good work!
The down-marker gimmick (4th down, punt!) is an all-time hardcore match gag. Never fails to make me smile.
I would give this one a solid B. I enjoyed this one when I was younger. And it is still decent
That's what we need. More belts. They can't even make the ones we have mean anything.
The reason the uppercard and modcard titles today are such as mess is because there are too many people fighting for them, some not yet qualified to do so but deserve a bit of a push.
give them different championships to fight for instead of cramming them all in 1 title matches.
You edited that comment? You might want to re edit it.
jazzmaster909 If they don't deserve to be in the title picture, don't put them in.
More belts wouldn't help with the problem of belts not meaning anything, it would just exacerbate it. We see in this review the kinda shit the European belt went through as it fell by the wayside, and part of that is because there were just too many belts to keep track of and write storylines around.
So they can put more championship matches on the preshow smh. NO MORE BELTS. NO MORE UGLY LOOKING BELTS.
Lawler saying hos favorite outfit and JR saying "the don't piss me off shirt?" 😆. The best
Such an awesome PPV, always was a favorite of mine, just loved how chaotic and unpredictable it all was. classic
