The Child has feelings. The Father has feelings. The woke mob is validating the child and invalidating the father. The father is allowed to feel hurt and angry.
And even so, the father seems nothing but sad and loving in the face of such vitriol. My father nearly disowned me and screamed the house down when I posted online about his being violent. Elon is taking it much more graciously in comparison. And he doesn't say a word of blame to his son.
I just don't know how anyone could read the kid's response and think "she's right! There's no way a woke trans person wrote this."

My dad was gone all the time due to the military. He woke up early and went to bed early. He was stationed in other countries. I have 0 debt and college was paid for. Thank you dad for your sacrifice to give our family a better life.

This would never have happened in FL, because laws taking away a doctor's license if he/she prescribes puberty-blocking hormones to a minor exist. And any doctor doing gender-reassignment surgery on a minor goes to prison.

I'm far from being a woke, but I don't trust Elon on this one, he was just an absent father and then left the family anyway for a younger model. In the interview with Peterson he pretends like he was part of some broader family decision when he maximally as legal father got an email to sign a paper. He has thousands of advisors and people who could find out everything about the procedures in a matter of hours. That he discusses such intimate things about his children in a public space just shows what kind of person he is and what kind of relationship he has with that child.

Years ago when I was in middle school my friend told me she was transgender, the name she wanted and all the surgeries. I managed to convince her to not do anything until she was 18, years went by I saw her far more happy and feminine in highschool with a boyfriend. We are no longer friends but I’m glad I managed to snap her out of it back then because she seems to of found her true self.

As a retired service member I see children of service members say they were never there not understanding what being forward deployed means. Children can't understand what parents go through until they become parents themselves. But not any more. There is a generation that is absolutely convinced that they know everything. They have zero respect for their elders and instead call them BOOMERS. Teachers have them believe that the parents are the problem if they don't support a child's decision to transition and in some cases won't inform the parents that the child is transitioning. If that person wants to make that transition they can do so at 18. I am a father of a minor son and my biggest fear is him getting caught up with this garbage. I am teaching him the right things and trying my best to be a responsible example of how a man should act and trying to keep him away from as much internet garbage as possible. I feel Elon's pain and understand what he said and why and really think I would react the same way. There is nothing that can compare to holding your son in your arms and having him grow up in front of you and calling you dad. It is AMAZING!!!! I truly hope this woke era die quickly as it is destroying families. Anyone supporting these kind of destructive movements should really examine themselves, as this is sick and delusional people.
I may misunderstand you, but be careful with this "how a man should act". If I was taught how a woman should act or what she should be like as a child, pretty sure I'd think I'm not one then since I'm very androgynous in looks, hobbies, dealing with emotions etc. Great that I had parents who didn't rely on stereotypes or some what I should or shouldn't be like so I knew even with differences from an average girl, I'm still a woman.
The whole “how a man should act” thing tends to be a big reason transitioning happens in the first place, a better thing would be to teach him that he is and will always be a male, and that the way he acts won’t ever change that or mean he’s a female
How they'll get him - or try to, and you by extension - is through relationships. You may do your very best, but who your child is spending time with is the big decider. The social pressure to conform is huge for adults - for example, I lost a 20 year friendship because I respectfully declined to affirm a friend's nephew and simple chose to let that family sort out their own business. Not good enough! You MUST comply or be ostracized. I didn't care - I've got my own life, but wow - what an eye opener to how this has gained so much ground. The cult weaponizes relationships. Pay attention to who your friends are - and who you son is hanging out with. It doesn't have to be a big deal - I saw this coming in my friends family a mile away - an angry and vindictive ex-sister in law who I believe was getting back at her ex via the son. I went through the trans phase, and it broke my parents hearts. It was already a very difficult situation happening at home, and then they started realizing the state of mind I was in and that I was basically digging my grave. It almost like me transitioning was revenge for our home life and the pain I had from them.. which isn’t okay. I acted and felt like an entirely different person, I look back on that time in my life and feel like it’s someone else. I don’t blame Elon for how he feels.. I don’t know much about him as a person, but a child is a child and in my experience my parents probably felt like I was a different person and completely isolated myself, so I might as well have been dead during that time. It wouldn’t have been much different.

He did not mean his "son" (now identifying as a female) actually died, he explained that the phrase "dead naming" was what he was talking about.

My little cousin was very gay when he was little, since he was about 2 actually you could just tell he wasn’t gonna be straight. Around 4 or 5, the way he’d Jump in the pool, dance, catch and mannerisms were nothing like his brother just 3 years older. You can definitely tell a kid is gay early on.

I have several children and one of them somehow went radical. It sucks but not much you can do when an ill society/social media becomes their parent.
Im actually the opposite. As time passes I've become more and more conservative while my parents became leftists. My mom agreed with the allowing kids access to transitioning and I just looked at her shocked and asked her "Didn't I say I knew who I was when I was younger so fervently?" Followed up with "Am I that person now? No but I'm far happier being who I grew into and would not have forgiven you had you allowed me to do something so drastic as surgery and medications.". My dad thankfully didn't go THAT far with his beliefs but he definitely isn't the Republican he used to be and became a Democrat.
after seeing how much of a mess there is with social media i'm thinking it may be a good idea to raise mine when they come without internet as much as possible, maybe in a semi-rural region, homeschooling with a focus on history, philosophy and practical skills... I've heard of fathers doing the same. However, people forget the intrinsic bond between a mother and her child (in a loving, non-abusive environment, obviously. There are many women who aren't a mother's arse, same to men and fathers, but I digress) and young children and teens are particularly susceptible to their mother's influence, since both early childhood and teen years are important learning points in a human's life. It’s embarrasing to show yourself to ANYONE if you don’t pass 110%. It’s not a fun experience because trans people know what they’re risking, but they choose to do it anyway, because they are indeed transgender and the pain is so real, but that’s hard for outsiders to understand. Just because you don’t understand it, doesn’t mean it isn’t real. A man can believe his wife when she says her child birth is painful, or he can ignore it because he can’t relate and call her attention seeking.
