This video gave me the confidence to swap out my brake switch-thanks! Couple updates: My vehicle: 2011, Grand Cherokee OVLD, V8, Quadralift*/Quadratrac. My symptoms: P0572 code, Steady check engine light, intermittent red electronic throttle warning light with a brief loss of power (in middle of dash-has a lightning bolt in it), Service Air Suspension System message with yellow traction control light coming on and going away after ignition shutdown, Cruise Control would not engage (it would turn on, but not set), At times vehicle would not come out of park unless the ignition was cycled. Switch from Advance Auto was $18.99 plus shipping. Caution on the installation- DO NOT push the plunger in or rotate the white aligning part BEFORE installation-I believe this can cause damage to the switch as it is 'self adjusting' once you install. Hardest part was getting the two 5.5mm screws (7/32' works) out of the OBD bracket! Thanks!
Did you need to clear the P0572 with an OBD scanner after replacing the brake switch or the code just cleared after a few minutes driving? My Ram has the same code and I replaced the switch but the CEL, ABS, and ESP lights are still on
Sorry I missed this. I assume it's gone by now but yeah for others; if you don't clear it with a OBD reader it should clear after a few trips or up to 100 miles of driving.
I wanted to coment on the Red lightning bolt that comes on , that's a recall that those keeps have and can be deadly or cause serious injury. my 2011 Jeep overland trail rated Will have that red bolt pop up while driving and it would want to lose power and jerk like if I was to brake , happened couple of times was scary. I wondered what it was then Got letter from dealer saying it was a recall on those years.
