Thank you JJ. I followed your instructions and changed the switch. Now I have the shifter working properly, my cruise control functions again and the traction control light is off. Your video is short and to the point. Thanks again. Greeting from St. Catharines, Canada.
I just wanted to say 'thanks' the pushing the brake pedal all the way down before putting the new part in the hole was a life saver......I didn't do that the first time and broke the part and had to get a second one.......Thanks Again
I Just replaced mine. Thanks for showing the 30% turn. I followed another guy on youtube and he said turn it prior to putting it in to line it up with a pair of pliers. Of course I did that.. Wrong... It wont install like that, the turning the 30% while you have it lined up enables it to slide in then turning it locks it.. (Yes and Start the car and Push the pedal all the way down..) Also after wrestling with it for a 1/2hr trying to get it in, I decided to remove the wire connector. The switch popped right in turned it 30degrees then attached the wire connector.. Much easier... Took me 30 seconds..
I unplugged my break pedal position censor to see how it looks, when I put it back in my check engine light was gone and it hasn’t come back on. I’m gonna give it some time to see if anything happens before I get my emissions done again but if this really just worked that easy then I gotta thank you and give you props my man🔥 you deserve a subscriber after that lol.
In order to depress the brake pedal enough to insert the new part you must start the vehicle (engage the parking brake). That will allow you to depress the brake pedal far enough to align the new part in the hole and give it a quarter turn to seat it properly. This is not a job for a big guy. It's a very tight fit even with the seat all the way back.
'09 Laramie C/C - I didn't have to move the pedal Just reached up, and it popped right in, by feel and touch, I was blind.
