Its really difficult nowadays finding a company you could say you´re proud of supporting it, in all certainty, without a single shard of doubt. Thank you Vlad and Soma team, Im totally proud of being your customer.
Best company for support. I had a loose Pipe knob, tried to fix it and I messed up the thread. I email SOMA for help. Required new knob and grub nut, plus needed to know size of key for fitting. In the post I received 2 X knob, 2 X grub nut, and key tool for fitting. Amazing support. Loving these machines, thank you.
I connect with the Soma philosophy of creating emotionally resonant instruments. I feel connected to the sound when playing them. It is great to see the care and attention and processes behind making them. I have a lyra-8 and pulsar-23 and know they will continue to give me years of joy playing them. Thank you Soma.
Soma is amazing! I had no idea the level of craftsmanship that goes into each product. But after using a pipe/lyra/ pulsar I am not surprised at all. I can not say enough good things, the world is a better place with Soma.
I just received my Pulsar 23 and Lyra 8 and after 40 years of playing electronic music, I feel like a child again, discovering and playing with open ears and open eyes. Thanks for these amazing devices and for the care you have put into creating them.
Having a Lyra on the way. These kinds of videos make me want to buy everything soma makes. Pulsar was very high on my list anyway. Would love to see this way of thinking with more companies!
I’m reminded as to why my Lyra-8 is the central hub of my studio. It’s truly a wonderful machine and always offers inspiration. Thank you Vlad for bringing your ideas to fruition. The world needs more thinkers/artists/designers/creatives like you!!
"I'm 100% sure that things like this (synthesizer), even though they're not living in the biological sense, there is in some sense a consciousness that we connect with" - Dr Robert Moog
This is wonderful insight into the company, I never knew there were so many people contributing at SOMA. It is clear that Vlad is a visionary and belongs on the same plane as Don Buchla for humanity and Dave Smith for practicality. This man and his team are truly keeping the spirit of synthesis alive and well. I'm glad that there are more electronic instruments made with the souls of Russians!
Just got the pulsar and was blown away! Having watched this video I now know why these instruments are so incredible! It’s so refreshing to see the passion that you all put into production! So inspiring!!!
My Lyra-8 (in orange of course!) is my escape hatch. It takes me to a new place every time I play it. It's beautifully designed, lovingly built, beautiful to look at, and so special. Thank you Vlad-- and everyone at SOMA for the amazing work.
I am so thankful to exist in the same time as SOMA Labs and Vlad Kremer! Every SOMA instrument is so unique and special. Thank you for sharing this with us and unlocking such new sonic spaces. What you all are doing is SO important and will certainly be remembered in history.
I love Soma products and the philosophy behind them. Own a Pulsar, Lyra and Ether already and will eventually get all of them at some point. Can't wait for Vlad's next creations!
Wonderful insight into the company of PEOPLE. Yes, i like many, have taken advantage of the mass-produced robot-manufactured components and devices, which have made it possible for us poor people to own. That said, it is heartening to see that SOMA has forged a place in the market . The attention to detail and quality control is excellent. Long may they continue.
Exceptional designs that go far beyond what is generally considered a synthesizer/electronic instrument in today's mass produced market. You need a philosophy which is more than just making money to produce machines of this quality.
@@Hell_Inc Thanks for the laugh. My OP-1 is waiting for a new keyboard after 18 months of quite moderate use... Concerning my Lyra-8. I think I can drive my car over it and it still would work ;)
@@martingoldmannmusic those SOMA labs' things could probably withstand a nuclear cataclysm. I'm sorry to hear about your OP-1, man. Hopefully it won't be very expensive.
This is beautiful. Thank you. As an Australian who has the pleasure of owning 4 of your products (Pulsar, Dvina, Ether, Pipe) I can also agree: you are loved.
Fascinating to see the process involved. People often say something is built like a tank, but here it's true! The real magic is to build like a tank but still full with organic emotion. Bravo!
Amazing documentary. So glad to heard there are still companies caring about the product delivered, but also so unique on their product designs. I wonder if someone would like to start building synths, what type of studies or knowledge, would you recommend them doing? Big thanks and congrats for your amazing work.
Stuff like this is what makes me support a company and have it in high regard. THIS is what makes me want to buy an instrument and have a satisfying sense of worth and pride of ownership. I don't care for silly, cringe-inducing, disconnected-from-reality-product videos that suggest to me that maybe the company thinks I'm a brainless moron, like Novation or Arturia does. Thank you for this video, Vlad. You guys are an impressive team!
Now I have a better understanding why my Pulsar 23 is taking it's time materialising. I have respect for this companies integrity. I love the fact that my now converted Lyra 8 had this much attention to QC.
Thank you Vlad and all Soma people. You made a good work, because it differs from that what we can get from all other synth makers. The only other similar experience I had and have was the Virus Ti and the Octatrack. Long lasting music machines.
1.07 wendy carlos, the woman who basically popularised synthesisers! a legend! also i have to say i have a formanta maestro in my studio which i love, so it is not surprising i also love the pulsar because it is from the era that you folks like to be inspired by
I love my Lyra 8 and will buy the Enner as soon as it becomes available more locally. Amazing company with an ethos which is hard to find these days. Thankyou for all the beautifully thought out and built instruments Vlad and Soma Labs! Unrivalled in my opinion. ❤ ❤
Now I understand why the Pulsar 23 is quite costly to buy - the design and construction are works of art in themselves! I lovevmy Lyra 8, and I'm currently saving up to buy a Pulsar 23. Interesting that some Soviet era production techniques are used, since my recollection of products from that time are that they had severe quality control issues. That was clearly a result of the "production norms" that workers were forced to achieve, where quantity was essentially the only metric. Friends who lived through that time said it was advisable to buy something with a production date stamp from early in each month, since quality dropped as the end of each month approached and workers cut corners to meet targets!
I've been wanting to buy a pulsar-23 but have been holding off. I noticed this video on my UA-cam feed and thought maybe I shouldn't watch it because it would make me impatient to buy the pulsar-23. I decided to watch it thinking I would be fine. Part way through the video I paused it and put an overnight pulsar-23 on my credit card. It should be arriving tomorrow hopefully 😂
I wish I could do more than just "Thumbs up" this... My Pulsar is in my room, warming my existence, and this video goes some way towards explaining how special it is.

I second that!
I totally agree. But its not that hard. There are many great. None the less, I soma labs are true pioneers!

Placing my order after seeing the passion here with this team. I’ve wanted a Lyra for a while. Pulsar someday. Much love from the USA.

A work of art really.
Wonderful look behind the scenes. Had a Lyra-8 for a few years.. superb machine.

Great insight and 100% support from me Vlad - hehe, even if we've chatted over the kick drum's evolving sound, I still love my Pulsar!
