Great talk! Very interesting as always, especially the part concerning the impact of weight/fat/muscle on long term health...food for thought for sure:-)
Really pumped for this, definitely gonna give this a listen when I wake up, can't get enough of Israetel. Thanks for the effort! If you ever get the chance to ask him, can you ask him what he thinks about the whole stretching-under-load stuff (especially for things like traps)? Basically the stuff AlphaDestiny talks about in every video. From what I remember he (Israetel) is very pro perfect form, wonder what he has to say about cheating on your form when doing heavy rows and/or shrugs.
Thank's Lorenzo, have u listened to it since?:) yeah, I definitely plan to have him on some more in the future, and I'll try to bring that topic up! Noted:)
Great stuff!!! When will part 2 be coming up? Bought his latest book after listening to this. Got the renaissance diet way back in 2014. Those are gold mines!
In regards to your heart and it having to beat more to provide for a larger body (and your heart having a limited amount of beats in it), what if you have someone who is very well conditioned and has a very low resting HR? Could that potentially prolong the life of the heart since it is having to beat less over time?
Good question. It potentially could, although it seems like a large body that functions like a beast is also a machine that is generally designed for a shorter duration. Also, as far as I know, endurance athletes who have amazingly low HRs are notorious for having heart attacks, but I could be wrong..
Wow, amazing interview! Thanks for bringing him on! Can't wait to hear the next episode. I have a question though: what is "metabolic stress"? How does it "accumulate" over the years? (Magyarul is válaszolhatsz, ha úgy egyszerűbb, de a közönségedet figyelembe véve, gondoltam angolul írok. Köszönöm szépen ezeket a fantasztikus interjúkat!)
Thank's Martin, glad you liked it!:) Good question, I will have to do some reading on that myself! It's one of those tidbits that you hear all the time but you never really look after...it intuitively seems to make sense, like "general wear and tear on your body as a result of the aging process" but few people know that it actually means in practice. Good point, noted for further investigation:)
Metabolic stress is the scientific term for the pump. It's one of the three mechanisms that ellicit hypertrophy, as hypothesized/suggested by Dr. Brad Schoenfeld.
Yon Jon sure, i just assumed that in this context he meant a more general 'stress on the metabolism' not what we mean when speaking of muscle hypertrophy. could be wrong though..
I get where mike is coming from and I don't go for all the bs hype people do to sell us stuff but I never felt stronger and more healthy , energetic etc etc than when I eat more keto style throughout the day and eat carbs late in the evening or once every few evenings , my experience has shown me and for building muscle as well as a natural that a cyclic keto diet , cycling carbs every few days is amazing , people can hate this but its really changed everythingif one is on massive doses of drugs they can eat a tone of carbs but then that's because of the drugsanother thing dr Jacob Wilson and others have shown that pure keto bodybuilders put on the same or a little more muscle on than bodybuilders eating the normal bodybuilders diet and back in the 50's many bodybuilders were also more keto in their eating style and got jacked , this thing about needing lots of carbs is a myth , it has been disproved once again it's guys on massive doses of drugs that benefit from it , lets really be open and honest about this
Abel csabai,How do you do for the subtitles option available? I asked the Steve Hall to revive stronger for him to do it in a podcast of his, but he can not and told me if I knew some way he would tell him to go immediately. Please, tell me so I'll tell Steve ..
Phenomenal. I’ve saved this video. Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed this interview with Dr. Israetel! Make sure to check out Part 2 too once you're finished!

Abel Csabai Sounds like a typical "be so good they can't ignore you" project :)
Haha indeed!!
