    I have about 70 miles on my bondi X. I’m a heavy weight runner and at first I felt it was a bit stiff but after a couple miles it settled nicely. I do feel like it’s more squishy but it feels great with the plate. I use it for long runs or daily runs. I have the regular bondi and I just like the X way better for any type of run that I would use my regular bondi for

    I own many Hoka's. I like their shoes and like the brand, so I could be bias. The question for me is if you are overpaying for the use you are going to give them. Sure, you can always find them a use, but maybe are cheaper/better options. Also, I think we are missing one of the intended targets of the Bondi X. Long distance triathletes ( Full o 1/2 IM). And Hoka is superpopular there so for them its a big market. A big portion of Triathletes are formers swimmers, heavier than maybe the typical marathon runner is. If you are also tall, you are easily talking over 90kg / 200lb. If you do IM and you are "just" a Finisher (way over 12h) then the Bondi X becomes a really good shoe for you. Its cushioned and the plate looks to provide that stability that you will for sure lack at the end of the 1/2 or Marathon sector rather than that "pop". That is why the Carbon X2 is popular among IM athletes or Ultra road runners but maybe not the best choice if you are looking to do

    Nearly at 100 miles in mine, great recovery/easy day shoe. Biggest annoyance is the X rock catcher, nearly every run I’m picking a rock or two out of that stinking X.

      A simple inexpensive fix would be to thoroughly clean and dry the area and apply silicone. I keep a tube around the house for all kinds of fixes. Should adhere remarkably well. 👍

    This has been my long run shoe this cycle - have over 200 miles on them. Once I figured out the lacing I’ve been pleased with the shoe. Still not sure I’m going to get another pair or make my Fresh Foam More V3 do double duty of recovery and long runs.

    I have been really disappointed with the Bondi X. I get the slipping too if I'm in thinner socks. Hoka need to make a shoe that has Clifton squish and carbon plate spring. They haven't done that yet. The best quality of the Bondi X is the colourway.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  2 роки тому +2

      The Prime X is very different. I want that for a long run that is going to be fast. Basically, consider it a race day shoe that is a bit gentler on the body.
      The Bondi X is more for long runs that are easy. I was really hoping that the Bondi X would be more like the Prime X, but that wasn’t the case.
