    love that your video shows all the dicking around it takes to get the part off. i HATE videos that are staged and the part just comes right off. People new to working on cars tend to question if somethings wrong when theirs doesnt come right off like in the video.

    Your video made it easy for me to change brakes and alleviate a lot of cursing. Thanks!

    Here's a trick I just learned. Instead of beating the rotor off, get a longer bolt and thread it into the caliper mount from the back. tighten it against the rotor until it pops off.

      Nice, I'll have to remember that for future vehicles.

    I just did my brakes and found that hitting the rotor between the studs will break it for after a few hits with regular hammer. Just make sure to NOT hit the studs.

    I’ve never used sandpaper on the new rotors?

    Thanks, this helped me. For some reason the I put the new pads on. They wouldn't sit properly, how is that leaf spring suppose to sit?

    Heman, thanks for the illustration, great work I have one question, I have a Cherokee Laredo 2005 as well and i think there is a clicking noise while I brake on the rear right side by chance do you know if replacing the rotor would help or should I check the drum brakes?
    Thanks

      Maybe it's the parking brake? Just guessing

      Have the same clicking noise on my 05 grand cherokee. Doing some research and think it might be ebrake shoe making that noise. Did you every get yours fixed?

    Instead of a hammer at 14:36 just put on two lugnuts. Opposite sides of each other. It'll hold it, put pressure on it and be easier to put caliper back on.

    I need help! I ordered MGP Caliper Covers so I could make my 05 Laredo sexy and how. Guy who put my brakes on said aftermarket calipers don't fit? Any thoughts??? I'm in NJ...

    I bought front brakes and rotors but need the rear done does it matter or should I go get the rear?

    • @Meekerextreme
      @Meekerextreme  5 років тому

      The front brakes do the majority of the stopping hence why your vehicle will nose dive. However if you need the rear you need the rear.

    • @Meekerextreme
      @Meekerextreme  8 років тому

      You could try Tractor Supply or Big R is you have either of those. Or a John Dear dealer, they sell a ton of various O-Rings. It's not needed just helps hold it on during manufacturing, just makes life easier is all. .

  • @sigmasd10
    @sigmasd10 5 років тому

    That's lazy man ...Get under the car and undo the brake shoe adjuster...Then you wont have to wack it with the club hammer! Don't put easing oil on your brake disc, simply use Acetone to take off the protective coating of oil it came with and don't sand your discs as they are machined to be perfect and you are introducing scratches for no reason.
