  • In this video I show how to replace the rear brakes on an 05 Jeep Laredo.
    Welcome to Jamieson's Repair Shop!
My current retirement project is restoring a rusted out 1965 Thunderbird convertible from the inside out.
I'm taking it apart, repairing everything that needs repairing and putting it all back together.
I'm doing body work, paint removal, rust removal, metal fabrication, welding, forming, patching, and that's just the beginning!
Down the line there will be interior and engine work as well.
Come on into the shop and take a look!

I'm chuckling a little watching this as I relive a very similar & frustrating time with that b*$£%y spring. Thank you for sharing.

Lol...yes, a little curing may have been involved!

Well done. Rear parking brakes can be a fiddly as you pointed out. Living in the north where snow and salt abound is not helpful. Your T-Bird in the background looks patiently on waiting its turn for the masters hand to return.

Hi Walter, I can't even imagine how much work it must be to do the brakes on these Jeep in the rust belt!
I'll be back working on the T-Bird today...hopefully! Lol

Hello Alvin. Well done on that brake job! Looks like the same set up as I had on my 04 Mountaineer. It is not a very fun job.

Hi George, there just isn't enough room on these to use the old traditional brake tools, I'm sure there are tools made for them.
The hardest part was getting the large front spring back on, while keeping the park brake mechanism all together in the shoe slot...the other side went much better, I guess I learned enough from my mistakes on the drivers side! Lol
