Hey Jennifer, it is SO amazing to hear that since you've started to use this system, you're feeling way more present in your own life. Hopefully all of the videos i have coming up will continue to help you way more in your life :)
Deirdre, thank you SO much for your donation! I will go buy a coffee to fuel my late night editing sessions lol. Hope you're having a wonderful week !! :)
Super excited for you that you bought a pocket notebook, which brand did you end up buying?? I'm sure that you'll find loads of success with this system but be sure to come back and let me know how you get on :)))))
Hey Yağmur, thanks so much for noticing the improvement in my videos. I have spent A LOT of time trying to improve the quality of my videos so that my viewers really enjoy them. Hope you're having a great day and I'll see you in the comments again soon :)
In my case, writing notes on a physical notebook makes it easier to remember than typing on phone because sometimes I remember the way I wrote it and the part of the page where I wrote it.
Hiya Cheryl, it's so good to hear that you found this video helpful and useful to your own life !! Hope that you experience a load of success with some of the methods I touch on in this channel, especially since you already journal and keep a commonplace book too !! Additionally, thank you SO much for the kind feedback - it means a lot to read such thoughtful words and it's really cool to hear you loved the editing because it's something I find a lot of joy in doing and strive to constantly improve. All the best and I hope to see you in the comments again soon :)))
Nicole, it is so awesome to hear that you are finding my content helpful !! Thanks so much for your kind words for noticing the work, effort and sheer time that goes into producing these videos lol. I LOVE making though hehe !! Hope to see you in the comments again soon :)
Heya Ayush !! It's so awesome to hear that you love my videos and find them helpful. Thank you so much for the kind words and I know that you're gonna LOVE the videos I have got coming up.....
Create a video explaining how to identify keystone habit, along with a video showcasing your habit tracking system for daily, weekly, and monthly habits.
Rashedul that is a great suggestion !! Stay tuned for a video that covers the BEST way to track keystone habits - the video title and thumbnail will be to do with a concept called the '12 week year', so be sure to keep an eye out for that :))
Hey Kavitha, thanks so much for noticing how I linked these videos together. If you notice, you'll see how all of my videos are supposed to be interconnected and at the end of each video, there's something else you need to do to level a particular system or technique up :)
Thanks so much for noticing and then taking the time to comment - it means a lot to hear that my efforts to improve the quality of my videos are being noticed! Hope to see you in the comments again soon, as I keep striving to improve my videos :)
Great video. How do you refer back to notes you have captured it your common place book? I struggle with this aspect myself and wonder if there is something useful like an index or something to tag your notes in the book so they are easy to find or use.
I use round circle stickers to categorise whatever I wrote down. And when I feel down or lack inspiration I have a notebook of good moments or inspiration to fall back on
Hey Luis, that's a great question and, to be honest, I am still trying to figure it out myself haha! I often like to track my memories through dates. So generally I have an idea of what I am doing and when and can just look at the date at the top of the page. I also kind of work in 'seasons', which helps immensely with my workflow. Hope that helps :)
so whats the difference, like what should i write about in my journal then, cause i write everything in my journal so what im supposed to do with pocket journal except to do lists?
For me it prevents me falling down the trap that is my phone when I quickly want to write something down. In my journal I do more reflections than making lists
Hey Anya, good question and basically in my journal I go deeper into my thoughts and try to really delve into my mind. But the pocket journal is for quick things like noting down ideas or even tracking my habits. Hope that helps :)
Glad you like the idea and found it helpful! From my perspective, when we type on the notes app for example, you can just keep typing forever. It's not like there is a limit of physical pages you have - like in your notebook or journal. Hope that helps :)
Hiya, sorry to hear that you are in need of some help right now. I would absolutely love to be your mentor and offer some advice and try and help you out. If you send me an email (my email address is olly@ollystaniland.com), we can communicate over there :))))
@ollystaniland It was similar to what you suggest. If you note down ideas it tells your mind that your ideas are worth noting down and gives you more ideas, like a feedback loop. It's better described in a book called "The Einstein Factor" by Win Wenger. I didn't give it a proper go, but after your video I might do now to see how it works for myself. Something that I have done on a similar vein was keeping a dream journal. That definitely told my subconscious that my dreams are important and helped me recall more of them. Again a feedback loop.
Great video! I’ve been using a notebook as you described and I absolutely feel more present in my own life.

Loved the creativity here! How you Linked the dopamine tracker video and this one to each other.
Hey Kavitha, thanks so much for noticing how I linked these videos together. If you notice, you'll see how all of my videos are supposed to be interconnected and at the end of each video, there's something else you need to do to level a particular system or technique up :)
the improvement in the quality of your videos is really noticeable, great job Olly!

Doesn't he answer pretty much that question at 6:23?

Great suggestion and I think most people will notice themselves using their phone less if they start to use a pocket notebook :)
I like this idea... But how do we have an unlimited space to type if we use our phones? I don't get it 🤭
Glad you like the idea and found it helpful! From my perspective, when we type on the notes app for example, you can just keep typing forever. It's not like there is a limit of physical pages you have - like in your notebook or journal. Hope that helps :)
Hi Oli, Would you be up for being my mentor? I really need some help

Einstein used this method. He called it his "Portable Memory Bank".
Oh wow Jon, that is so cool! Thanks for sharing that. Do you know if Einstein had a unique system that he used?
@ollystaniland It was similar to what you suggest.
