Didn't realise they did this in a tub. Got myself a 20kg job this morning happy days. Definitely leaning more to pre mixed fillers these days, no messing about knocking them up and having to clean mixing bowls. Cheers Dan. 👍
Your a sound bloke Daniel . Ive learned loads of you buddy thank you .
Excellent. Sometime could you do a whole video about the best technique to repair hairline cracks in walls/ceilings from start to finish? Thanks!
Those cracks look like someone has driven a JCB into the house - either that or there's subsidence.
Haha. I think they had new plaster skim over old plaster and it wasn't bonded properly
As I tapped it alot sounded hollow where it has blown
Toupret products are great , i like to use Fibafuse tape on bad cracks along with Toupret , bomb proof for repairs.
I've yet to try Fibafuse I've heard great things about it
Toupret fillers are different class to everything else no grinning through worth weight in gold also the toupret lightweight filler best by far
Love the Toupret range mate 100 percent agree with you 👍🏻
Not used the ready mixed Dan, does it dry as quick as mixing it yourself ?
Ooh, I'd missed this one. Defo one im going try next time, I realised what a PITA the powder is recently with mess and drying out etc.
Dan Nugent - Professional Crack filler!
Great stuff Dan thanks mate. I know you have the Mirka deros which I’ve also bought but how are you sanding corners and square edges is it by hand still?
The mirka handy is great for corners...it is a hand sander but is still dust free..I also use it for filler especially joint fill and skim as used here and easy fill as the derus can take a bit much out..
Toupret is brilliant. No shrinking, no cracking. I used it on some major cracks in between ceiling and wall and it's perfect. And I am far from professional! No need to prime either
Daniel have you ever tried a Refina flex trowel. It’s an absolute game changer and found there is no need to sand down
i done my landing wall with this stuff as it was a mess it come out lovely...but can you skim over artex ceiling with silk paint on it?
@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 any tips on skimming with this product over artex with vinyl slik paint have i got to lightly sand the ceiling first?
@@garethdavies7564 Yes I would do. Also maybe roller a coat of PVA frist ad that's what plasterers do when skimming over Artex
How’s does it compare to the ready mixed easi fill i wonder… Iv been using tub fillers for years now, just always have one on the van… just take what u need never put back in the tub what you’ve taken out just bin it.
Hi mate. This is defo a 2 skim filler but usually for deeper holes I use Easyfill 20 for 1st coat then use this over it for the 2nd skim. You get great results so I'd keep both on board the van.
Hi Dan...dont you find that the pre mix of joint fill and skim is slower to dry off than the powder mix ? I use the joint fill skim all the time and have used the pre mix and thata what i found
Apologies...the stuff you have is the standard..the stuff I tried was the toupret fine surface filler which was slow to dry
Yes mate it takes longer but handy for jobs with alot of filling. I always have a fan heater on aswell as it helps
@@davewright9312 yes I always use Easyfill 20 and even Toupret Murex for deep holes but Murex is almost impossible to rub down so don't fill it proud
Hey fella does this readymade filler keep well overtime or dry out?
Hi mate. This is great for second skimming or if your using it like I did then 2 skims minimum
I usually do deep holes with Easyfill 20 then use this to second skim
@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 cheers mate. I mean does it stay moist after you’ve opened it over time (weeks/months) or does it dry up
@@TheOlzeeit's good mate. That's a 20k tub and never dried up. Always seal tight after each use
I usually use toupret tx110 but what's the drying time like on this buddy
@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 legend mate, only picked the toupret smoothing by accident but thought meh I'll use it somewhere but it's the worst haha. Only worth using to face up some walls
Dry time daniel
This stuff sinks a bit much. Wish there was a good readymixed that didnt
Yes it's a two skim job minimum. I agree but nothing on the market yet
