  • I chose Nova 2 by Tikkurila as the customer wanted the ceilings painted an off white. It was mixed to a Farrow and Ball colour.
The reason for this choice is it costs around £36 plus VAT for a 10 litre tub. It dries to an even matt finish and can be mixed to other brands. it is just a matt emulsion so has no scrub rating so it's perfect for ceilings.

Why won't they tint Anti Reflex for you? We do it all the time. There's no 'C' Base so you can't anything dark but neutrals, mid-colours are no problem.

Dont see that product around my way mate, how much a tub is it?, sick of rolling ceilings and seeing flashing wen the light shines on them, might be worth trying to convince my gaffer to try this stuff👍

Hi Daniel. I used Nova 2 on block walls in a factory last year. Very impressed with it. Like all Tikkurila paints that I ve used I could happily use Tikkurila on every job. Opacity is brilliant. Using Tikkurila vinyl Matt this week. Used it a few times. Opting for that now instead of optiva 5. Ootive 5 is very expensive now I reckon and I will only use it when I think client really needs it. Their vinyl Matt is still durable enough for most work I’d reckon. Such a great paint to apply. Using AR2 on ceilings and everal 10 this week. Brilliant gear.

Mate fantastic gear. And try Caparol for woodwork. The Haftprimer and then either P.U Matt or Satin or Golss

@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 hi Daniel. Like the haft primer. It seems to be perhaps the best adhesion promoting primer I ve used. Not that impressed with the PU satin. Might give it a try again. My clients like a good white on wood. So that rules out Teknos and Tikkurilla. I still use Dulux diamond satinwood. It’s very smooth. Solid and tough when fully cured and very white. Cheers mate

Nice video, Daniel. Can I ask an unrelated question: i carelessly got some latex paint on a doorframe that’s stained/finished. Can I rub it down and cover it with a couple of coats of dark color water-based polyurethane? Do you think that could cover over the paint color? Thanks!
