That is so impressive! I can only imagine how many back-breaking weeks it could have taken to make this. My only question is are you going to leave Skarloey without his nameplate, or just decide that it's just fine without it? All the same though, I think the model looks fantastic! :)
Been kicking Skarloey around since the beginning of November, but got delayed at least a week. What you didn't see in the video is that the first paint job (and pinstripes!) had to be stripped off and started all over again. Much more pleased with the results now. I'm planning on ordering some etched nameplates for both of them. For my needs, they'll have to wear different names depending on the show they'll be on.

I agree that the Bandai Tecs are better choices anyway, plus, Bachmann is only doing CGI, which isn't bad, but as a classic series fan, the Bandai Tecs used from HOn30 are better choices, despite the expense! Awesome! Also, would the other Skarloey engines be made by any chance?
It looks like the actuall tv show. I wish i can get my hands on any of these small narrow guage engines like Skarloey, Rheanese Smudger, Duke, Peter Sam, Bertram, Fearless Freddie, Mighty Mak, Sir handel. I also want the coaches as well. Maybe i can make my own narrow guage episodes.

Not sure. These guys are for looks on screen more than anything else, so was more concerned about visual authenticity. I can always futz a coupling system where nobody can see it.
Word of warning to anyone trying this on a die-cast model: For the love of God, wear something that'll prevent the bit from going through your fingers when the Dremel flies out of your hands.
At this point, if they happen, they'll be to-scale Season 4 replicas, like the scratchbuilt Sir Handel I'm working on at present (not the Bandai one here).
Nope. What's next is the real Sir Handel. As in a near-perfect replica from the series. It's already on my Twitter feed. Oh, and Part 6 is on the way too...

It was what I had on hand - the lower stripe off an HO GATX Leasing decal set, cut to size.
