Ive been looking for the air box, bit of a motorcycle newbie, cant seem to find it. Bought a used, alright condition bike like this, got the engine going, but it ran up to 4krpms, not sure if the air box has anything to do with that.
The airbox for that one was hard to find, I did eventually find one on ebay, pretty good source for used bike parts. The older bikes run CV carbs and are very finicky with air intake, they are factory tuned with the airbox, any change to that and you need to start changing jet sizes. I have never done it but that is what I have read about them. The xs850 is a really nice bike, get it going and hang on!
I had some trouble with mine a while back. Check the idle screw on the top of the carb. Also check the tension of the throttle cable (that was my issue). I don't have an air box on mine I just have filters on the 3 holes instead.
I had it about 15 years ago, thanks for the ride!
Fun bike. A lot of shocked looks when sport bike riders haven't gapped you.
I was surprised how fast it was! I had a 79 K1000 and this bike was comparable!
Sounds good. Love my 850. Mine is a midnight special.
E tripple has the very best sound🥰 of all, ,
My uncle just gave me this bike and it needs work any ides where to get parts. I love the bike but also want to be safe lol
@@leebojangles947 partzilla.com is good for oem style parts. I like denniskirk.com and revzilla.com for aftermarket stuff.
Hey buddy I have one all cylinders have spark but don't know which order to run the plug wires
Single coil goes to left side. Dual coil when mounted outside to outside and inside to middle. Hope this helps.
Anything helps thank you sir
That engine was only running on 2 cylinders!
Do not rev it high in 1st and have a decisive shift in second. . . Important. .
