    That's seriously impressive for 9 years ago. I only just beat it today. It's not so much about reaction as it is pattern recognition though. It is not random, the game has set blocks each it can do in 4 ways: clockwise against spin, clockwise with spin, anticlockwise with spin, anticlockwise against spin. After that you need recognise which block is coming at you and perform the set of inputs for that block. Assuming your positioning is relatively ok to start with your reactions can take you the rest of the way as long as your reaction speed is not below average.

  • @fruitproof115
    @fruitproof115 6 років тому +8

    In my opinion, the most impressing part about his performance is how he manages to stay alive for another 18 seconds after he reached the 60 second goal. I know that the stage itself is difficult as hell, but it gets so much more complicated after 60 seconds, for me it feels like pure luck. And you don't get a lot of training, because you have to reach this 60 seconds first...

    Okay, here's an analysis of the end of his run.
    If he timed that last movement right before he died, he would've made a smart decision; with the right timing you can move in any direction around the specific pattern he died at (let's call the pattern the Stair). A stair pattern has two variants: Stair 1 and Stair 2; Stair 1 is a straight path (and as such, can go in both directions), while Stair 2's pattern is RRLLL. Terry confused Stair 1 with Stair 2, tried to go left at the third button press, mistimed it and died.

      Elliott Belardo yeah, I'd call one the hyper hexagon pattern, the other the hyper hexagonest pattern, He used the hyper hexagonest pattern for the hyper hexagon pattern, because in the void and the void only, both patterns can occur.

    if I see a pattern I recognise in time, I already know what to do, so my triangle sits still in between patterns. If I fail to see a pattern coming at me in time, then being a little to the left or to the right would make no difference.

      Actually, the things appear on screen BEFORE you respond.

    • @Femaiden
      @Femaiden 9 років тому +1

      Dylan Huang by the time things appear on screen, there is no longer enough time to respond, you have to be responding before they appear.

    • @dylanhuang1598
      @dylanhuang1598 9 років тому +15

      LadyGenevieve It's supposed to be about patterns. Even though the order of the patterns are randomly generated, the actual patterns never change. It's completely possible, you just have to have really good reflexes.

    • @Femaiden
      @Femaiden 9 років тому +2

      Dylan Huang yes, I figured out that it's about patterns. so you are correct, your response time is use in identifying the pattern and moving accordingly. when you know the pattern you can "predict" what is coming before it comes. if you just wait for stuff to appear and try to react, there's not enough time/
      so I did answer my first question "how is this possible", it's possible because people memorized it.
      I still maintain that it's not possible to do it by merely reacting to what is on screen. it's more about training your muscle memory, forcing you to learn to identify the particular layouts it throws at you and then executing the proper sequence of movements that you had to memorize as the response to the particular threat.
      you have to know in advance what is coming and move accordingly
