I think the spin with the actually helps. It gives more field of view. Since the patterns are really fast on Hyper Hexaginest the spinning also increases othereise the spinning would pretty much not be there as it wouldn't help. This is also why they just stop the spinning in the bonus stage.
the cool thing is that the spinning makes it EASIER, and you dont realize it! thats why the final level is so awful. you remove what's seemingly the most annoying part of the game and it turns out it's actually more difficult!

my record in this game is 86 in the last level. And you have to know that I played a LONG time, since 2014, and at that time when I played more often I reached that score. This really was made by a human being? How many hours did he/she spend on this game?
The hardest part in final level is reacting to the vertically opened hexagons, which is almost impossible to do everytime. I don't know how are you managing to do it, is there any trick or you just have insane reaction speed??
@@abdulhakdavutburcek5227 Vertically opened hexagon, where the opening or the escape direction is either at the top or the bottom edge. Since the hexagon is not spinning most of the time in the final level, you have to react extremely fast to them. Here is one: 8:45
@@twitchoff1114 So far I've managed to get 487'13'' on Hyper Hexagonest, and also randomly 622'28'' on Hexagoner (lol), and yes indeed, you nailed it; pretty much all of the difficulty of these runs come from the fact that the Void (the final, bonus level) doesn't spin nonstop, unlike all the other levels, which results in your field of vision narrowing down by a lot, which makes everything harder, SPECIALLY those vertically opened hexagons that you just mentioned, which are EVEN harder to react to because of the aspect ratio of the game/monitor; and yes, it's just pure reaction. Easily the biggest run killer. With some practice, you eventually get a bit better at instinctively positioning your triangle right at the middle (fully left or fully right) as soon as you clear a gap, and then quickly deciding to either keep spinning on the same direction or go back, depending if the vertical gap is either up or down; but it's still really tough

If you survive 6 straight minutes in Hexagon mode, you enter Hyper Hexagonest's MAX Rank phase (Hexagon, or 60 secs). Also, the best cheats are "humanized" to mimic human imperfections, so if you were very intent on fooling people, these minor flaws would be exactly what you'd want to program into your bot.
