this video does it no justice , it sounds alot better in person , tried one out today and man the tone was great especially if youre trying to play more or a lead in metal , if you combo this with a delay and reverb its a killer sound
I love this whole series of pedals. The only thing wrong with them is the switch… the effect comes on when the button is disengaged rather than when it’s pushed down. It can make it tough for song cues and performing with one of them on your board in general, because the switch behaves differently than EVERY other pedal in the world. Silly design choice by TC.
Wow, that's a fatal flaw for this kind of simple drive pedals. I encountered the same trouble when I get "mooer micro preamp 001." This problem happens when the pedal is so cheep that the quality insurance is not good enough to create pedals as products.
Who's the Problem? Is the same like other Pedals only another way. Foot on the knob an put him up so directly effect on. And absolut noiseless the switch. It's no problem to use. Million People by it😎
I actually love how he like “this guitar sounds dry literally doesn’t even shoot down neck” and then he likes “this how it sounds when you turn it on” and then plays and lick down the fret board haha
I couldn't agree more. The treble spike on this overdrive is fantastic. I've got a Fender Bassbreaker. Really dark sounding amp. Pedal is exactly what my amp needed.
@@tattooedsailor8666 Great! I'm looking for a second hand Bassbreaker 007 head, I don't need more power. It has line out, so I could drive my combo power amp as a slave.
I have it and it has a wide range and it is very versatile. You can take fuzzy sounds out of it or just a regular but cool drive. The only con I found is the low output volume. As you can see in this demo, you need to crank it up just to avoid loosing volume when stepping on it. Another thing that was weird is that the drive kicks in when you release the switch, not when you click it. But I can live with that. It is a good overdrive for the price.
To me it sounds more like Bluesbreaker, because the Cinders has so much more low-end and low-mid girth than my BD-2. But those two pedals already sound quite a bit like each other. I'd say the Cinders is a BD-2 with the bass mod for sure. It's also way more fizzy than my BD-2, which may be due to that extra low-end hitting the gain stage. Great pedal!
You should use a non Fender amp to show how it still sounds like a Fender amp. With the gain at 10:00 and tone cranked and volume at 3:00, it makes a nice treble boost. It makes a nice wooly fuzz with gain cranked, tone all the way down and neck pickup. I used it on a Behringer bass amp with headphones and it still sounded like a Fender amp. This pedal definitely does well with humbuckers. I was using an Epiphone 335 when I first tried it.
using one on my pedal steel for blues, sounds good, I tried about 4 pedal before I stuck with the cinders overdrive. I guess because it doesn't try to color your sound is why I like it, tone knob could be better, but not an issue. I never liked single knob EQs anyway.
Jeraldo before buying a pedal, maybe you should go for a Fender Champion 40, or a Boss Katana Mk2(which came out yesterday), they come with built in effects, they sound a loooot better than a 10 watt begginer amp like yours, and you can buy a cheap footswitch which will enhance you experience with those amps. Just my recomendation!
Different beasts. Hard to control the low-end on the Cinders, so if you need bass control, go with the Mojo Mojo. My cinders is really fizzy, too - the most fizzy pedal in my stable.
Who did the sound for the video!!? Holy treble!!!! Like can’t even watch your videos because the treble is cutting through my ears!! Every S sound you make I’m about to lose my hearing 😮
I don't know why or is it that I have a beginner amp but when I turn on the over drive pedal the sound gets louder and when I say loud I mean loud as F**k.
I've owned this pedal for years and I'm still watching hahah
Is it good?
If ya don't mind me asking, how has it help up for you?
@Jebus000001 still my go-to OD! It's been on my board for 5 years
this video does it no justice , it sounds alot better in person , tried one out today and man the tone was great especially if youre trying to play more or a lead in metal , if you combo this with a delay and reverb its a killer sound
agreed, i just bought it today
Please tell me its NOT like a Boss BD-2? Is it more TS like but clearer? I am trying to discern how this and the El Cambo are different
Having the option to have a clean tone with a little rollback of the volume knob is exactly what I need
Why not just use the pedal to control distortion vs clean sounds?
@@51MontyPython don't want to reach for the controls while playing, it's easier to control it directly on the guitar
this is basically a more modern Boss Blues Driver. Definitely a keeper
just bought one, works great on Bass for anyone who may be wondering.
Yep. I'm wondering. And now the bass review… Tore?
Jus t ran this the other day on my P-Bass and it was epic !!
Cool Hendrix like tone

Makes my 15W tube combo sound like a Marshall even with single coils. I use it as a low gain treble booster.

one day I will buy this pedal. sounds amazing with a wide range!

Russell Brand killing it!
Great demo, great pedal Better sounding pedal than many 80/90 dollars boxes. Thanks a lot
Sounds a lot like the Boss Blues Driver.
Daniel Stevens I believe it’s a copy of that circuit, well done
@@taylorzomer5223 I think so, yes, but it seems to have more distortion, which I like.

and costs a third

Wow classic look, future clean sound-very nice tc electronics-do we have like this in the phillipines? Probably we dont havd it yet
Wonder how that sounds in front of a sans amp
Will it or any pedal work or sound good on a beginner amp like a Fender Frontman 10g?

any one can tell me is pedal good for regge
Sounds like bluesbreaker pedal or Morning Glory
exactly! transparent overdrive.
Cinders or mojo mojo?
Mojo Mojo has wider range. Cinders works well as a treble booster.
I use MojoMojo
Different beasts. Hard to control the low-end on the Cinders, so if you need bass control, go with the Mojo Mojo. My cinders is really fizzy, too - the most fizzy pedal in my stable.
super pedal with a clean super sound. I wonder how much they cost...
I got mine for 60
they're really affordable pedals! I bought one new today for $75cad
I get this series for $20 - $40 on local used market....usually in great shape
Use it with a boost and it's a beast of a pedal
Shut up and take my money! I need this pedal.
when i play on guitar as i play on acustic guitar what type of pedal i need to use ? compressor /delay/reverb?

try turning the volume down on the pedal???
that sound very nice!
Very much a cross between overdrive and distortion .
Yup, that's pretty much what a Blues Driver is - overdrive levels and tone shaping with hard-clipping like a distortion.
quite good
I've got those Homer Simpson Blues
Cinders or Soul Food?
hhanslie I've been using a crayon overdrive lately. replaced my soul food.
Basically do the same thing. The soul food has a lot more volume tho.
Both. Run the Soul Food into the Cinders for a mid-boost.
Aptly named.
Sounds super grainy and fuzzy.
Mine is the fizziest pedal in my collection. Pushing it with a D250 makes that fizz even more super apparent. A unique sound and great stacking order.
It’s a blues driver clone
A Blues Driver clone. Why do you use so many words?
Why everyone makes a reviews Whit a strato?? there's a lot o people using humbuckers
agree i'm sick of those strats
His bridge pickup is a humbucker
He's using a bucker in the bridge genius
Why is he wearing a girl tshirt
cuz he's European.
String Theory Guitars
Lol
Cuz he’s a rockstar
Um, what makes that a girl shirt? Lol
Looks like a shirt Dio would wear, pretty rad
Demo it with a Harley Benton and a shitty transistor amp.
THAT's your market.
holy fuck that sounds like SHIT
I know that pedal must sound better than that.
Is this guy the thinner twin with Chum from pawn stars ???.-Also he doesn´t follow through any of the riffs.Na-Na-Nah-Nah-Na.-Crap
