Love these cars, I just picked up a 1999 V70 XC to go with my '18 S90 and I LOVE it. I miss my XC90, was a 2007 base and it was awesome, wish we still had it. You have inspired me to make content on my Volvos!
Dude, I love the love you have for the XC90. I have a2024 XC60 and hunted forever for an older XC70. But you are the reason i bought a 2013 XC90. All that room in the back!
Hey there! Love your Volvo videos. Coworker has an 08 Executive V8 with the Chestnut interior for sale. Mid 140k miles if I remember correctly. Also, might be picking up a manual swapped 850 wagon in the next few days/weeks. Lmk if you have any interest in making a video on that! Glad you're okay after that hit. Cars can be replaced, people can't
Hi Bern, sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident! I like how you've been resilient and now have a new project to focus on. What a great find- you're the right guy to take ownership and bring new life into this XC90. I missed my 2004 black XC90 so much, that I recently purchased a 2011 electric silver XC90 RDesign with only 42k on the clock. The previous owner was great with scheduled maintenance, but there were still a few things to address (which I actually enjoy doing on a vehicle that I'm passionate about). Anyway, looking forward to more interesting content from your channel and best of luck. Cheers!
I appreciate that a lot. There's no way the universe was gonna take another XC90 from me LOL. Woww what a great find with thise miles! Cheers my friend!
Wow that really sucks you got rear ended in your XC90! My wife got backed into while out of town in our Volvo S40 in June. It was very minor damage but it totaled the car. We kept it though because it was in immaculate condition and I have put a lot of money and effort into maintaining it. I have also been putting a lot of time, money and effort into my 2008 XC90 V8 executive since I bought it in May - new tires, reseal the timing cover, AWD fluids, steering angle sensor, fuel pump - but I have always loved the XC90 V8 since I worked on them as a Volvo technician! Now I have my own to preserve, and in this world of disappearing V8 engines, I think it is indeed a preservation effort. I am so glad you are OK after that crash and that you have another XC90 V8 to take care of! I look forward to more of your videos!
I appreciate that thank you! It is heartbreaking. Unfair!! It's definitely a commitment of mine to keep one of these things alive!! I love these so much haha
3:20 put the v8 power train in a similar year Volvo Xc70 and you’d have something really cool and unique! Glad you’re taking this well and have an another XC90.
@@BernonCars IPD recently did a series on their YT channel of that exact swap. I'm sure they'd love to talk about it more in-depth if you were serious about it and got in touch
I had 5 total all V8, first one was 08 White, followed by an 05 Black, then a 2010 White, 2007 silver and 2008 White, all still going strong, one got shipped to Europe, the whites are all in the family still all with 220k miles and going strong and the 05 got sold and is now at 275k miles and still going strong. One day I may get another one but I always wanted 2011 V8 Executive.
So sorry to see you have to break No.3 down Bern, but great that you've got a new one. I watched all your videos about #1 and #2 before deciding to buy another P2 after owning one in 2017 and then owning a 2019 XC60 Inscription Pro and a 2019 A4 Avant TFSI 45 since 2020. Of course my new one is a V8 which are super rare here s they stopped selling the V8 from 2010 onwards. It's a 2011 R-Design V8 in fact with 98k miles on the clock fresh from Japan (one of 12 2011 V8 R-Designs in the UK). So far I've installed a Legend head unit and will be installing some halo headlights shortly. I love it. Thanks for all the content, so glad you're going to be making more. Cheers from the UK.
Thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it! I'm glad I'm back in one as well, I couldn't live without it! That's a really good find you've got there!! I'd love to try out the R Design one day.
I have the 2005 in titanium grey. I love these cars. I’m currently looking for another one to source parts from. I also have acquired a 2015 xc70 that I have fallen in love with as well. Volvos are the only car company in the us that offers a lifetime warranty on any parts installed by a dealership. Definitely worth the money for that perk. Glad you survived the crash unscathed. Sorry for your loss on the only xc. Cheers to the new. Keep up the great content. 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Sounds like you have a good little fleet yourself too! I hope you can find a good parts one, one day when space clears up I will buy an additional XC LOLOL
(What does the sign on your 'cottage' say, "Welcome to Magnolia Cottage"???) Hi Bern, I am back k k . You have had 4 XC90 V8s? I am still working on getting my first one!! You are a FAN of XC90s, and I am a FAN of yours, so I am, by proxy a FAN of XC90s!! (Please post where you got the silver paint?? I'd like to paint part of the rear bumper on my XC70 in a silver color!) I like it that you get 'attached' to your cars. . . I do too. I also like it that you are not afraid to 'retrieve' a car from a sad state. I believe that retrieving a Volvo from a sad state to a better one is a noble endeavor.
Haha that was the name of our AirBnB! Yes! I love the V8!! 😂 I got the paint at Home Depot! It is sad, and heartbreaking LOL, but I'm happy that the adventure continues!

My moms 2007 v8 xc90 was rear ended in 2015. We had no front damage and the back was about the same. It was about $12k to fix it. The car was never the same afterwards even though it was fixed by the Volvo dealership body shop. The third row seats broke and the front seats were lose. We still drive it for another 9 years though afterwards.
@@BernonCars yea, granted i was in middle school, but i remember seeing a photo from the body shop that has removed the entire interior in the back for the body work so i think when they put the third row back in they did a bad job.
Where did you get the B8444SP2 front license plate? I love it! I have a 06 Unicorn and would love to add that! Also a quick question, have you ever experienced a shudder in acceleration in any of your V8's, if so what was it? I also have a 2.5t and it's never given me a problem. But I absolutely adore my V8
I got it from this custom euro plate website online! Yeahhh unfortunately mine shudders, it's the torque converter in the transmission. The clutches have worn!

The right side door dings are most likely from it being a family with two cars that were parked next to each other in a garage. Kids open the door on the second car too fast/hard and that happens over time. I know because I did the same thing to my mom's car.😅
