  • Africa's demographic growth is having a considerable impact on the continent's capital cities. Kigali, for example, is set to double its population by 2050. In one of the most densely populated areas in the world, authorities are trying to organise this growth in terms of urban planning and economics. Rwanda, which holds great ambitions on the continent, has plans to turn Kigali into Africa’s major international hub of business and finance.

In the continent’s most peaceful country, most caring government, most broad based economic participation, least corrupt etc this French station couldn’t find positive image or news. These reporters from France should be the last set of people that you want to listen to about any country in Africa and especially Rwanda based on the role that France played in the atrocities that happened in that country, France is still taking billion of dollars in resources out of Africa, even Haiti was still paying France money which ended in 2015, reason for that is because they fought against slavery and oppression that was imposed on them by France and these French journalist knows that this is what happened when countries are developing, it happens in the western world and they called it " imminent domain" I am sure it happen in France also, but all these people want to see is an undeveloped Africa that they can show the world how undeveloped Africa is and people like you buy into these thing all the time, I am happy that President Kagame is a visionary leader and people like you and France 24 will never cause him to change his plan to please you all.

    More of the story:
1- Rwanda is a very hilly nation, with a heavy rains, that means it's very hard to build houses.
2- Belgium and Germany colonized Rwanda but did not develop it infrastructure wise, they never left anything, Rwanda has been under conflicts and poverty since independence.
3- After genocide, new government put in place a vision 2050, to make sure by then Rwanda would be a developed nation.
4- Housing actually Rwanda's worst issue right now. Rwanda builds less than 10% of what it needs every year.
5- Government started by building free new houses for poor people moving them from high risk zones.
6- But after reviews, It was decided that people living in safe places in informal homes, the government would set up better homes with more units and give the families units for compensation and other units house those from high risk zones, this means one would not be moved from his home place if it is safe.
7- Rwanda as a low income country is really punching above its weight.
