Great I’m just learning to perfect my ramen egg but I don’t mind having many bowls of noodles lol I also need to figure out what veggies I enjoy adding
I use my rice cooker and I'm so fortunate that I have two Asian shops 2 mins walk from where I live in the uk, been there so many times they welcome me like family, always giving me tips and making sure I have all the good stuff to put in it. It's my favourite thing to do😁💖
Both my neighbours are chinese and they have offered me hot-pot multiple times .... watching this video because next is my turn XD hope you have a wonder day
So, this Canadian - Irish family decided to try Hot Pot! Your video was the ONLY ONE I watched and it gave me the confidence to do it. My kitchen is a disaster because we really just got over taken by the fun gathering but we can clean up later! So much fun!!! Great flavour! We put steamed pork buns in and they fell apart...perhaps not meant to be in the soup and only steamed. LOL
I love your videos, I love Asian food so watching your videos gives me lots of ideas for cooking meals for my daughter who is Thai. I’m Scottish by heritage but have spent a lot of time in south east Asia where I met my daughter’s mother.
@@JaniceFung I love you videos and I hope this message finds you. I live in the United States and I was wondering where I can buy the pot you use to cook all that delicious goodies. Thank you so much, keep doing what you do and stay safe.
I came across this video cos I needed a recipe and I can't believe this was filmed in Eastwood the area I grew up! Thabk you for sharing this video and what a delightful surprise
I tried this with my family, my cousin said can i get my soup seperate ? Then I told her the culture around hotpot and she said she wants her soup seperate. So my aunt ended up spliting the soup into 6 bowls. I think the important part this video left out is that in asia its ok to say shut up dont be picky, in the west we dont question why someone wants a cup or another fork or why they dont like garlic, we respect it, thats their choice.
Asia has two, three, four-section hotpots in case someone doesn’t like spiciness or certain ingredients, there are also restaurants serving little pots for each individual. And, I’m also curious, how do you cook in bowls?
Thank you so much for sharing as this is going to be so amazing. I bought a hot pot and l am so looking forward to doing my first ever Hot Pot Mukbang. You are wonderful. Yummy yay.
Hi Janice, I've just binged on your channel. You brought back so much nostalgia from my childhood, the faves and whatnots. I like your rustic and unassuming style to food. Good on you.
I just had this for dinner with the kids, used the spicy seasoning in one and a chicken broth in the other. Soooo good. Kids loved the experience of the fire at the table. N we added skirt beef chopped finely and so yummy
Great video! I always make hotpot too! Ever since I introduce this food to my husband and his family, they just fall in love with it. So I always make it for them when we are together. I even made a video for them to follow whenever they want to make hotpot themselves, lol. I like to make some sesame and peanut paste dipping sauce. It's delicious! We all love it.
This is insane! Every weekend the video you make is what I eat on the same day. Today I went to Jonga jip for a spicy seafood hot pot and you put a hotpot video! Wow, I love the content you make!
Thank you so much for explaining everything in details. I'm having Hotpot this Saturday and can't wait to try your recipe 🥰 unfortunately we do not have the pork / chicken broth already made in our supermarket. How can I make my own broth?
I know it’s a year later lol but you can just use chicken bouillon and Napa cabbage as the soup base. Add some onions, garlic, and green onions if you want but bouillon + Napa cabbage is all I use and it’s so good!
Gonna try this soon as Melbourne gets even more colder. Thank you for mentioning (and showing the pics) the ready made sauce. I am always overwhelmed with them.
I'm jazzed to try this with my family. Excited. The sauce bit is a bit of a mystery. There's just SO many sauces in the Asian Market. So many! (I'm often thinking "This just isn't fair. I want to try them all and I won't live long enough") Thanks for posting this.
Excellent video! I've leant so much about making hot pot. I got a hot pot pot for my birthday and after watching your great video I feel confident enough to use my new pot :) thx a bunch
I just ordered a bunch of equipment on Amazon and I’m going shopping for ingredients now all this started with a UA-cam video of a ramen vending machine lol I cannnnt wait and I’m really hoping to find fish cakes
Can’t believe it, just had hotpot few days ago myself using the same soup base. Totally recommended it 😍 Usually for dipping, I’ll use raw egg, giving it creamier taste for the meat (Japanese style). You should give it a try next time. 😁
I have a half half pot, I use the same soup powder that you used and divide it into both sides. We add Jimmy’s sate into one side for a spicy kick. And the Jimmy’s sate is also good for dipping. I mix it with hoisin sauce.
Thanks so much! I have wanted to try this but can't find a restaurant in my State omg. So I'm resigned to make it and it was so overwhelming! So this broke it down so simply and I have everything on hand to make this tonight so... here goes! Thanks!!! P.s. so it has 4 but most people blend it to be 3. Just like everything has 4 but is blended to be 3.
We have a hot pot here in the UK but nothing like this , it's potatoes carrots parsnips swede and and a cheap piece of beefcooked in a slow cooker great in the long winter evenings . It looked amazing. Nice vlog as always stay safe
When my mother-in-law and I were looking into vocational rehabilitation to find work we went to a Chinese restaurant that turned out to be a hot pot chines restaurant and we had a great time eating the food, it was delicious.
Alright... a Janice special Hot Pot! This is so perfect for cold nights, and your dipping sauce looked excellent! I'll take your Sydney winter over mine any day... We can get to below freezing in Jan/Feb, and the mid 30's C in Summer. Great Vid!
It is! The best thing for cold nights! Ahh that’s way too cold for me. I rmb being in Calgary for winter once and it was so cold that day.. like -30? And the inside of my nose froze when I breathed lol
Nice to see an Asian do hot pot...got some ideas for my hot pot. The fish paste is a delicious idea. My mum mage fish paste soup when we were young. I hope to share this with my sister and nephew. Peace out aye
Yum!!! We love hotpot, especially the tofu yu (square fish thing). Thank you again for a great video 👍🏽
