      I use my rice cooker and I'm so fortunate that I have two Asian shops 2 mins walk from where I live in the uk, been there so many times they welcome me like family, always giving me tips and making sure I have all the good stuff to put in it. It's my favourite thing to do😁💖

    So, this Canadian - Irish family decided to try Hot Pot! Your video was the ONLY ONE I watched and it gave me the confidence to do it. My kitchen is a disaster because we really just got over taken by the fun gathering but we can clean up later! So much fun!!! Great flavour! We put steamed pork buns in and they fell apart...perhaps not meant to be in the soup and only steamed. LOL

    I tried this with my family, my cousin said can i get my soup seperate ? Then I told her the culture around hotpot and she said she wants her soup seperate. So my aunt ended up spliting the soup into 6 bowls. I think the important part this video left out is that in asia its ok to say shut up dont be picky, in the west we dont question why someone wants a cup or another fork or why they dont like garlic, we respect it, thats their choice.

    • @DyanaLekha
      @DyanaLekha 3 роки тому +6

      How do you cook your meat in bowls? Btw why should the video address western culture?

      Asia has two, three, four-section hotpots in case someone doesn’t like spiciness or certain ingredients, there are also restaurants serving little pots for each individual. And, I’m also curious, how do you cook in bowls?

    - potato slices
    - rice noodles
    I really don’t know what liquid they cook it in though, I know it’s chicken but that’s all I know.
    Do you know if I can get those pumpkin covered in cheese oblong bites at a Asian supermarket?
    Edit: I’m fairly sure they use chicken stock

    Thanks for the vlog. Where can I buy a hotspot like yours, or a similar one?

    Every time I watch videos like this, I can't help but just wonder how there are entire supermarkets dedicated to specific types or food or whatever, filled with stuff I don't think I can even find anywhere close to where I live.

    I have such a thing against mushrooms, but bean sprouts sounds good
    I'll probably try cabbage, watercress, water chestnuts, radish and bean sprouts when we make hot pot for the first time

    I have never made a hot pot before, but have been interesting in trying! I picked up a few veggies from our local Asian food market, along with hot pot soup base, some tofu, have some garlic and ginger here at home...interested to see how it it turns out!
