My deepest condolences to his wife, Wendy. During the time when Ian was in the Rollers his lovely singing voice made me be happy and alive to enjoy their music. Lord comfort you in this trying time.
The best group of all time rip Les Alan and Ian we miss u but keep ur music live on always and forever now Eric Woody Derek and Pat keep the music live on
Ian was a cool guy. He knew it. Yet we all die someday, so all the Glory be to God for creating people like Ian and you and me. God bless your soul Ian.
I was at this taping! Though the fans only got to see the concert part. I had made a Happy Birthday Ian sign (his bday was 4 days after this taping) and ended up tossing it into a very large bag some guy was collecting stuff for the band. A few months later, in a Japanese mag, there's Ian, holding that damn sign! He's my best friend-in-law now :)
I don't remember which show they were on, but one of the times Ian sang "Dedication", he got to the part where he sings "You'll never know how much I love you", and when he got to the "I love you" part, he had the cutest, shyest smile on his face-it was ADORABLE!!
I am so happy to be finding these on line. Its great that you knew how to video this off TV with a film camera...good thinking! My friend and I use to take photos with our cameras, how dorky was that. You were ahead of your time. Thanks for the moment back in time.
Sob.....more beautiful memories!!! Ian and Les were so hot.......Love when Les does the high pitched background....thud!!!!! LOL!! Dedication was a lovely song........sigh...
ALthough my heart+soul belongs to Les! I must admit Ian is a beautiful guy,if I can say that for to a man! What an angel-face.... I love this video the best from all 3 i've seen so far here from Dedication....These 2 gorgeous guys sound beautiful together! Have tears in my eyes again....
TartanBo.....wow ..that's cool....when you think that most of the stuff was "left behind" /trashed......I mean they could only collect so much stuff...I remember they did Cos after I saw them in Ottawa...my first rock concert.....memorable!! and Ian....and Les...swoooooooooooooon!!
my god the start of that is so contrived , i bet the rollers felt right plonkers in those top hats and tails, bt the best was to come a cracking roller performance
Does anyone happen to have this whole show? I remember my sister telling something about this, but the segment she was talking about isn't on this vid. Please tell me there is more to this.
I can't believe all the cheesy stuff they were subject to!! The Beatles were able to make the transition from "boy band' to serious musicians. It just didn't work for BCR.
My goodness......look at Ian.....such a beautiful face! And that sweet voice!!
Sigh........
Thank you. I have never watched that Ian was singing this song in video. So glad to see him. Sooo cute. I never forget him. Thank you Ian.
I can hardly believe the sad news of Ian's death. So heart-wrenching and sad. Seeing this brings back the good memories of him. We'll miss you Ian.😪😘

i remember watching this on tv; it was my 13th birthday.
This is how young men should always be 🌟
Oh what I wouldn't give to be that mic too!!!!
LOve it. Thanks for posting.
Ian's version of Dedication was much better than Les' - supposedly, Ian's version is back on the CD version of the album.
Jean O'Boyle you can download Ian’s version of Dedication from iTunes
Yes and Ian remembered it was written in purple pen...
Now Ian looks forward to her Bolicious chocolate chip cookies!
❤️
You betcha! Cuz they are THE best ;)
gooooooood!!
Oh to be 15 again. Eric and Woody was and are still my favorites. But I must admit Leslie was looking very sexy singing dedication, that day. Oh yes.

He married my best friend :) I was their maid of honor.

Torontóban Jan hangja alatt nem sikoltoztak, mert akarták hallsni az Angyalt!🙏❤🌞

Do you have the entire episode?
This is all I have of it - the Bay City Rollers part.
Does anyone happen to have this whole show? I remember my sister telling something about this, but the segment she was talking about isn't on this vid. Please tell me there is more to this.
"And we're from Scottland!" Erik, Derek, Woody, Les and...not Ian! He's Irish!
Now that is scary!!
LES
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
from what i've heard, arista still has about $100,000,000 of the rollers money because they don't know who should get what!!
They want to keep that money. They're business men and should have no problem figuring that out.
I can't believe all the cheesy stuff they were subject to!! The Beatles were able to make the transition from "boy band' to serious musicians. It just didn't work for BCR.
To me, Les does this song best.
dera god american shows always had the lads doing stupid corney things, so sad, they are musicians not comedians
