    Yeah, I've been playing it for 3 months, and it completely blew my mind as soon as I checked all it's abilities. Wanna play at home? You need guitar, pa-1, and headphones.
    I'm learning playing guitar for less then year. I do not have enough time to play during the day, so I usually playing when my family sleeps. I started with VOX's brand classic rock, and I would say that THIS sounds way better. It actually resurrected my aspiration to practice more and more. Wanna clean acoustic? Make your own nice profile. Wanna AC/DC style? Pffff. Easy. Offspring? Take it. Metallica? Not another word! Whatever I want to play I can build suitable profile using default IRs. Pro can do it even better with uploaded IR.

      Thank you Sergey! That is a great breakdown of your usage and congratulations on joining the world of guitar. It's amazing that something like this can be so affordable and sounds so good. You're exactly right - one could plug straight into it and just let it rip. I'm glad to hear you're getting some enjoyment out of this and I hope you keep on jamming! 🤘😎🤘🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸

      Hey Wolf!! Happy New Year!!! Thank you kindly my friend I'm glad you enjoyed it. That is definitely a Harley Benton. I really like the build of the fusion 3.... Great pickups, feel, and the tremolo system is pretty wicked. Haha I remember too - this guitar was relatively inexpensive, and for what we used to get for its price now we would pay maybe $50. Thank you brother! I'm really glad it helped.... Soundwise it's really only limited by how good the impulse responses are, so with some good IRs, alone it sounds great. I appreciate your kind words, congratulations on picking it up!

    • @maasaigeordie
      @maasaigeordie Рік тому +1

      @@guitarmeetsscience Cool bro. If I get the time I may come back and post on this thread after the weekend to give my thoughts. It really is amazing that we can pick up something at such a low price these days with so much functionality. When I started playing guitar in the 80's the cheapest thing you could get was a crappy 10w practice amp that, if you include the rate of inflation (obviously), costed at least 5 times as much as this.

    • @guitarmeetsscience
      @guitarmeetsscience  Рік тому +1

      Oh exactly - tech has come along so far. Definitely please share your thoughts on it! The interface takes hold of getting used to as does its computer PC counterpart, but in terms of being able to dial in your own sounds by loading IRs, nothing beats it. Plus it's own built-in IRs sound pretty darn good. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

    • @maasaigeordie
      @maasaigeordie Рік тому +1

      @@guitarmeetsscience As soon at it came through the post, I plugged it in and selected the preset that sounded good for what I was playing then away I went. That was as far as I got with using it because I ended up buying a Marshall CODE 50 amp on saturday which I am more interested in now! However, just to plug this thing into a brand new guitar and then jamming away for hours gives it 5 stars from me any day.

    • @guitarmeetsscience

      Haha oh man - I have no doubt he can pull that off. I think with some of the new alloys that go into the magnets, one can do that. I have those 200 watt lunch boxes that weigh 9 lb. Jimmy, 1st off HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I gotta say this a VERY IMPRESSIVE tutorial of a KOOL device. I went through quite a nightmare a couple years ago when I got my Helix floor unit. I watched endless videos and eventually figured some things out. I found the manual almost useless as I'm fairly illiterate with computers and the like. In the last year or so I found a few guys that are easier to understand. But what I'm getting at is you did a phenomenal job here and if I didn't have the HELIX I'd jump ALL over this and you would make it VERY EASY to use. GREAT JOB dude!!!!

      Thank you very much! It might actually have a built-in noise gate I'm not sure. Most of my gear is fairly quiet so I tend to try to avoid Gates as much as possible just for Dynamics, but the preamps built into this particular unit are a bit noisy. Lately though I've just been incorporating it with only the impulse responses turned on - it gives a lot more versatility to other pedals, and with it being said cheap it is a great option.

      Happy New Year Christophe and Pascale!!!!! Sadly the amp does not yodel though I'm working on training it to... So I don't think it's the most distinctive possibilities LOL. 75% is the magic number so far that I found and the software does make it easier to work with though you could set the regular settings via its front face. Of course also with the software is where you can actually load impulse responses and that's the magic of the sound right there. I might actually stream with it today we'll have to see. Oh but that means I need a longer cord....hmmmmmm... Anyhow I hope you two are having an awesome start to your 2022!

    Any suggestions on how to use effectively in live gig situation. Seems like a 1/4” out would help with that, otherwise the current outs could be fragile…

    • @guitarmeetsscience
      @guitarmeetsscience  2 роки тому +1

      You're exactly right - with a large adapter it increases the weight on the jack. However the best thing would be a small cord, with a 1/8 inch plug which goes into the lekato, and the other end having a female quarter inch Jack input. That's the way I set mine up - I soldered my own cord for that so that I could interface it with my other pedals. I like to put mine into the return and send of a bigger multi effects pedal . so that the other pedal only has to worry about effects while the lekato does the heavy lifting of processing the impulse responses.

      @@guitarmeetsscience Maybe a 90 degree 1/8” plug would lessen the strain on the output socket. I hate it when these connections lose their integrity, so bloody hard to repair. I’m also the world’s worst when it comes to soldering the fiddly bits. Cheers for the reply.

      Hey man happy new year! LOL I advise them to take it to at least 11 though I'm thinking at this point we need to start considering a 12 slot. It's pretty amazing what they're doing with these gadgets now and I think the impulse response really changes the game. I got a $500 box that loads 10 of them, and along comes as $50 gadget that really does the same thing. Granted it doesn't have compression stereo delay etc but still at a tenth of the price it sound quality rivals much more expensive ones. Thanks for checking out the demo and I hope you have a safe and rocking 2022 my friend!!;

      It can happen, but I believe that's just due to the setting of the preset. The volumes of the presets themselves vary. But they can be tweaked, and you could go in and adjust the volume individually and then store that preset.

    • @guitarmeetsscience

      It's a pretty simple design in terms of interfacing - I don't really know if it would work with wireless earbuds. On the instructions it says to use wired earphones. Even if there was a way to interface the wireless earphones digitally you would experience latency - which is not good when you're playing so generally a good wired pair of earbuds would be the best for it.

    WHAT??? WHOA!!! That is tiny and yet HUGE! How super cool! Shit it can't yodel... deal breaker, almost! Great video Jimmy and a great product review. I love the idea of this handy little tool! I might actually pick one of these babies up!
    Happy rocking new year to you brother. Stay crazy... I mean stay metal! 🤘😎🤘
    damn... it is already sitting in my Amazon cart. You actually got me exited about this little baby! I own a Helix Floor and love it, but it doesn't fit in my pocket and it is a little heavy when I have it hanging on a belt clip ;) I got a ton of amp sims in my iPhone but I would still need an interface to make it work. So this is actually one of the best compact solutions that even support IR that I can think of. Have you run into any other product that can do the same as this in such a compact size, or is this the only thing out there at the moment?

    • @guitarmeetsscience
      @guitarmeetsscience  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Ed!!! Happy New Year man! LOL -yeah I was hoping it would yodel, but luckily The yodeling pickle is small enough I could carry it anywhere LMAO. Right on I'm glad you picked this up. It's very handy, and it doesn't take long for it to be intuitive. I really don't know of anything this small that can pull off the feat of storing 10 IRs ... At this price especially. I'm actually thinking about putting it into the effects loop of the old boss gt8 which has great effects. Something is small it is pretty flexible. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing your impressions on it. Happy New Year brother!

    • @EdBMetal
      @EdBMetal 3 роки тому +1

      @@guitarmeetsscience that is an awesome idea about the GT8. I actually still have a GT8 sitting on my large pedalboard as well. Allowing it to use cab IRs would really make those amp models sound even better i imagine. I still use the GT8 every now and then. It might be an old processor but i think it still has some great sounding capabilities. The only thing that is the limiting factor is that i use stereo out from the GT8 into my mixer and the PA-1 only has one mono in. Can’t be made stereo with two PA-1’s, one for each channel and i even imagine using two IRs that way to make it sound as two different amps in stereo. But i won’t go that far. That’s where for me the Helix would come into the picture again. But it is definitely a possibility and since they are this affordable it could offer many cool posibilities for people on a budget too i imagine.
      Funny thing is that i saw almost the identical product as the Lekato sold under the brandname Donner. Same price same features. Those sneaky Chinese hahah 😉
      Yes i think i am going to test out a PA-1. This little guy can bring a lot new ideas to the table. Thanks for sharing this video Jimmy, really awesome tip for a cool new product 👍👍

    • @guitarmeetsscience
      @guitarmeetsscience  3 роки тому +1

      @@EdBMetal oh yeah those boss gt8s are great. Nuno Bettencourt still uses one to this day, because the effects are quite awesome in it and it's built like a tank. The send and returns are mono as it is, so generally the amp unit would be treated as a mono source. Usually for rhythms I double track or more per side, so I'm usually changing impulse responses around and things like that. For lead work - it's always a single amp for a very focused sound so having that mono amp as an engine with the effects loop set before stereo reverbs and delays really brings the best of both worlds. Granted I do like the ability to use different IRS at the same time but I generally don't do that live anyways because the sound loses its focus. LOL yeah I can see probably the same manufacturers slapping different names on their products. It may be a wise move I'm not sure. I guess whichever one works the most is the one they'll be going for 🤘🤣🤘

    • @EdBMetal
      @EdBMetal 3 роки тому +1

      @@guitarmeetsscience i am an idiot... you did mention the effects loop, and i completely didn’t realize that it actually had a loop. I have never used it since i got it. Duh! Forgot it was even there. You are completely right! Putting the mono IR in the loop makes perfect sense and imstill can output stereo from the main with the IR sitting perfectly where it belongs. Man you got me excited for this cool ini amp.
      I didn’t even realize Nuno is still using one. That does show how great these bad boys are. I will keep using that GT8 till it dies. Even with the Helix in my possession I still like using that GT8. This little IR loader will blow complete new live into the GT8 again. You rock brother! Nux is great for people who want something to work instantly - with amazing preset sounds right out of the box. No doubt it sounds great - but I still prefer this 1 - because it's half the price, and 2 - because you can do so much more with it. Being able to load in your own impulses makes it for power users who like to copy sounds exactly like the originals.
