My grandpa always said to wait ten seconds because there's always one or two red light runners.
There is a intersection I used to use leaving work in my town. Waiting for the left turn arrow. When the light would change, I always hesitated and double checked oncoming traffic from the right. Several times a car would come flying through on a red. Anyone who was a lead foot pulling out would have got hit.
As far as being addressed as ma’am or miss, I grew up in the military. That was the way all women were addressed. While the first time I was called ma’am freaked me out, I was in my 20’s, I still accepted it was a sign of respect.

One time the a-holes of my neighborhood were outside playing a very loud game of dominoes and two of them started arguing. I didn't know it at the moment but the two dudes are uncle and nephew. Well the nephew got so upset he went to his car, opened the trunk and got the *freakin car jack* to hit his uncle over the head. If his mother hadn't shielded the uncle (her brother) he would've killed him right there over a stupid game of dominoes. Everyone else thought the car jack was a gun (!!) and ran.
That was one fight that I saw. Found out later that at least once someone pulled out a gun and shot the air... and people kept telling me that that group was fun and to give them a chance...
YUP! There have been many gut moments for me where I could have died or I felt something would happen and it did. I've always learned to trust my gut. My intuition is very high. And I'm a ENFJ-T, so my mind and intuition is very sharp with ppl and my surroundings

The boy scouts leader story hit a bit too close to home. A scout leader in our community was always acting weird and creepy towards the boy scouts. A couple of years later it was in the news that "a scout leader in region X has been imprisoned for sexual abuse towards boys". No name was revealed in the media, but everyone instantly knew who it was, clear as day.

This guy was following me and kept trying to selling me cigarettes i kept telling him i am good and to stop following me and then a lady in a BMW pulled up the guy knew her. I thought oh shit i better get out of there i ran back to my apartment building. I was afraid of gettind robbed and abducted. I was trying to walk to the store to buy cat food. I eventually was able to buy cat food. This happened in 2016 in Syracuse NY

nah that happened to me before! i was at a four-way intersection, just chillin'. usually, i go as soon as the light turns green, but for some reason i was like nahhh and sat there. this car sped fast AF through their red light. would've hit my passenger side and possibly pushed me into the median had i gone. it wasn't busy at the time either so i would've seriously been trapped.
also ma'am feels so odd but military kids often get told to say ma'am, and people from the south.

There was this one time my grandad had a gut feeling about me. He said he just felt like he needed to keep on checking I was ok that day. Well that was the day that I broke down and admitted I was feeling suicidal. If he hadn’t kept asking I think I would have kept hiding it and god knows what I would’ve done but I don’t think I’d be here

How are you doing sweetie? How are you feeling? I hope just great!! In the very first story, the people in that van were definitely planning on doing something very sinister to them. I am just so happy to hear and know that they got away with their lives. Why is the world so scary at night? In the second story, she's very strong, courageous, and just so brave to have gone through all of this and not given during the process. She is a true warrior, and thank God she's been cancer free for five years and counting. In the third story, so they actually had a very real reason as to why they were always acting out and rebelling against spending time with the scout leader. All of the creepy, f*cked up adults like that need to be in prison for the rest of their lives. There still are just way to many pr*dators that exist in this world and it is just so messed up. In the fourth story, this sick and twisted man was definitely going to do something very bad to you, but thankfully you were fully aware of your surroundings. In the fifth story, thankfully you listened to that voice within your head because it saved both you and your friend's lives. That just reaffirms what I said, it's very scary at night. In the sixth story, her gut told her not to like him and her gut was all the way right because he turned out to be a pedo. In the seventh story, she trusted her gut feeling here and saved not only her life but also her friends lives too. She's a hero. I love you my friend!! Have a great day, good night from me!!
