I saw George about 15 years ago at a dive bar in Bakersfield, CA. The man played to 50 people like he was playing to 50,000. Incredible show! Nothing but respect for George Lynch.
I want to see Lee, DeMartini, and Lynch do one more instructional video or even a UA-cam channel where they break down their solos and show the correct way to play them, once and for all. It would be a historical document.
There are certain guitarists who's tone are so original you can tell who's playing after a few notes, George has always been one of them, great guitarist
Even just watching how George Lynch moves his hands, holds the pick and his facial expressions is fascinating. You can see the intensity and accuracy flow.
Lynch and Vai are just at the top for me. Composition and shred adds accent when necessary. Lynch writes some of the coolest solo phrases ive ever heard.
George has put out some amazing stuff in his career; people are drawn to his tone and his leads because they are not a race of scales and arpeggios but truly beautiful phrases that combines technique and coolness. say what want here but I'm glad he still enjoys playing and I know he gets nervous in these environments; hence the drinking perhaps? nothing can tarnish what he's already done and I wish him all the best going forward; not at his best here but he's still got alot in the tank;
that situation is always a pain in the ass for every musician: standing back to the wall with a bad sound .and the people standing 3 feet away starring at you!
I’ve always really dug his sliding vibrato, rather than the regular bending. It’s just such a violent sounding attack that bending just couldn’t achieve, and you knew it was him instantly.
Fantastic playing from Mr Scary. He never plays it safe, always going for more. I've always thought of Lynch as more of a jazz guy in a rock setting. That is why I consider him superior to other top players in the genre because they don't improvise as much, where as Lynch is seemingly always on that creative edge.
Uniquely George. There's really only one guy with this radical of a style. Say what you will. Vai is about the only comparison, with similar abstract taste in chord structure, flaring leads, and their incognito, blend in with the regular dude, style. Randy was a diatonic writer, disciplined. Few comparisons there. I was in Leesburg 2 days ago, all I could think about was Randy, and Delores... and my Dad.
For sure. I never really saw the point with the whole comparison thing at all. All three were totally different animals, so to me it was like trying to compare a Ferrari with a Hummer, with a Cadillac. Other than they all have four wheels, they’re in completely different lanes.
Nah they are out there, ya just can't see them from the road..Like modern cowboys.. Mainstream shit shoved at us is wretched new country, pop shit and vile rap..
Lynch is the last of “The boys of ‘79”, and he’s still got gas in the tank. If y’all haven’t checked it out “Scatterbrain” by KXM is fantastic! Hooking up with dUg Pinnick and Ray Luzier and forming KXM is just about the only time a “Supergroup” actually delivered, in my book.
How many players drifted off into the never from his era..meanwhile he just put out 6 diverse CD,s in last 3-4 yrs...juggling different projects, each requiring its own style, not to mention remembering all the new material n older..legend man..a true legend. Was my hero in 80s and now.At these namm shows he tends to play a bit busy n thats cause its one long improv solo.
Best all around guitar player left from that era. Love him or not, each project he takes on shows off another side of his playing. And somehow he just keeps getting better with age.
such a nice guy....he called me a few times a few years ago...i was selling an amp on craigslist....we talked for a while about nothing really......we talked like friends tho......out of nowhere he didnt know me and i didnt know him.....just two gear hogs talking about the freeway. LOL.....
Lucky guy! It nevet hurts to have a phone call from George Lynch on your resume. Only cat who ever called me was James Earl Jones and even then he was pissed off and just wanted to talk to my dad. Oh well...
I'm looking at all douches comments saying how he's not playing well, some people are so annoying,it's not his best vid ever but he's still killing it,seriously go get lives, this guys a champion of music, sold millions, still making records, doing clinics, ripping it,George is great, get lives seriously
Loved the opening clean lead parts. What's with people trolling Lynch videos now any way? Seriously this guy in one of the best rock/metal lead guitarists ever!
George has the one thing which is the most important in guitar playing a great vibrato and good pitch and what more can you ask for and if he plays some"of key"crazy stuff its just all fun.
Wow... incredibly expressive. Fierce and fearless... I don't get the "sloppy" comments, or even people saying "he's 65".... that's doing his playing prowess an injustice!
Just once, I'd like to be able to watch any UA-cam video about live metal without someone complaining about phones like a bitch. It's 2019, live with it.
Everybody's a critic, George keeps creating and you non-guitfiddlers don't get it, he pulled off the miracles in the studio, ain't dat good enough. I'm glad he's still out doin' what he loves, love watchin' you jam George.
Been a long time since those old KNAC party days huh George! Man we're old. Hey, why aren't you gray yet? My gray hair is at least still long...LOL! Keep rockin'! It keeps getting better.
I've been friends with the guy who makes it for years. His name is John Metz. It's one of his side projects. The guy is hella talented himself on the guitar and managed to get the MAN to take his amp with him.
wow..um..Look George rules! But these comments from people..priceless as well.Keep in mind the guy is going on 65 yrs old and really has his own thing and always has!Idc what thoery and tabs, scales, arpigeos he knows ( sing dont play),most people knocking it have much to say but it's right there. This is a bit sloopy for him,and idk if i want to say he improvises to much, perhaps he does, but its like Akira Takasaki comes to mind( maybe funny?)The guy has my attention and if you listen to his solo projects, pretty damn talented. But soloing is monotonous and predictable..although its just him doing his own craft. After around 40 yrs its time to branch out. These guys are legends...i love guitar...not being a player,i still feel the music! But really...simple...Vai ( strange that i think its strange Satriani isnt as good..on his level, but taught him),Lynch ( just a breed of his own kind),Wylde ( yes,a bit repetitive, but simply Zack rules),oh,and lil Wayne..( simply awesome..lol?)Lol!!!!!!Anyhow,many others have better knowledge, hands maybe..i didnt forget Malmsteen and many others either.I normally dont comment but its just that this has been in my blood and my soul forever.Im envious im so limited on my ability..Rock on Goerge ..i grew up with Dokken.Old as dust now ..lol!!!
I saw George about 15 years ago at a dive bar in Bakersfield, CA. The man played to 50 people like he was playing to 50,000. Incredible show! Nothing but respect for George Lynch.
I wanna see lynch with Warren demartini and Jake e Lee doin a tour just shreddin like the G3 Vai and Satch do
Won't happen
That would be something that I would go to the ends of the earth to see!
Boring show.
Want George Lynch and Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy fame to team up once or just have a guitar duel.
One of my favorite guitar players from the 80s. George Lynch is badass
Absolutely incredible. George is miles and miles above the best around , a different level 👏
What a beast! Totally bad ass no matter the age. Kudos George, keep rocking.
dude is just a fearless guitarist
May be best description I’ve heard. He just goes for it. It’s awesome!
this guy is the reason why I ever picked up a guitar to begin with. awesome to see him still teaching the newbies how its done.
are you fan of Dokken?
Even just watching how George Lynch moves his hands, holds the pick and his facial expressions is fascinating. You can see the intensity and accuracy flow.
Sound engineer: Ok George how much do you want me to ramp up the effects?
George: Yes
Lynch and Vai are just at the top for me. Composition and shred adds accent when necessary. Lynch writes some of the coolest solo phrases ive ever heard.
Lynch, Vai, and Van Halen for me. No one touches them in the 80’s.
@@kevins4222
Many would place Randy, Jake, Greg Moore and Carlos into that mix. I feel Chris DeGarmo belongs in the discussion.
But I'm with you.
George Lynch plays better at his worst than most other guitarist put together. So even if he is sloppy he still kicks ass. I'm a huge Lynch fan.
George has put out some amazing stuff in his career; people are drawn to his tone and his leads because they are not a race of scales and arpeggios but truly beautiful phrases that combines technique and coolness. say what want here but I'm glad he still enjoys playing and I know he gets nervous in these environments; hence the drinking perhaps? nothing can tarnish what he's already done and I wish him all the best going forward; not at his best here but he's still got alot in the tank;
Please no one apologize for GL, he's playing circles around everyone else.
a pioneer for sure!!! with a totally unique style!!! my biggest influence , but the sound man sucks, fuck those loud ass backing tracks!!!
All of you Lynch downers, remember that everyone has bad days. He's a legend and always will be. He has paved the way for thousands!
so truenman
Well said.
that situation is always a pain in the ass for every musician: standing back to the wall with a bad sound .and the people standing 3 feet away starring at you!
I like that George doesn't do all that sweep shit but picks his notes one at a time...just adds the right amount of flash when needed...
I’ve always really dug his sliding vibrato, rather than the regular bending.
It’s just such a violent sounding attack that bending just couldn’t achieve,
and you knew it was him instantly.
Lol infants and elders day! Lynch is freaking cool lol. Gotta respect Lynch, he has done it all and keeps on evolving.
I thought it was pathetic
Nobody sounds like George. One of a kind.
love George! Such a unique voice on guitar..
Incomparable in any setting. Best guitarist ever in my book
Yea he kinda takes risks in his playing.
he is a guitarist that never fears to take the risk. if george was born in the 90's or 00's this guys musical boudaries would be enormous.
Some of the most interesting and trippiest playing I've heard in a long time.
If you haven’t heard it yet,
“Scatterbrain” by KXM shows he’s still got a lot of creative gas left in the tank!
In the musician and metal world, he's known as the iconic '80s guitar shredder: George Lynch.
Uniquely George. There's really only one guy with this radical of a style. Say what you will. My parents lived in Leesburg for 6 years and at the time I had no idea that’s where Randy lost his life.
Zack Wild 🤘
For sure.
I never really saw the point with the whole comparison thing at all.
All three were totally different animals,
so to me it was like trying to compare a Ferrari with a Hummer, with a Cadillac.
Other than they all have four wheels, they’re in completely different lanes.
Nu l-ai ascultat pe Jason Becker sau pe Dammebag...sau asculta-l pe Tony MacAlphine
Now that Eddie is gone, George is one of the few guitarists left that plays with a lot of soul!
Nah they are out there, ya just can't see them from the road..Like modern cowboys.. Mainstream shit shoved at us is wretched new country, pop shit and vile rap..
Never thought Eddie played with much soul
@@hectorchavez3405 Diver Down was kinda the end for me.

Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy fame is legend too. Want George & Scott to team up just once.
A complete badass, one the best period!
Thee Man the Legend which is George Lynch. No words are needed.
One word to describe his sound/style....Sinister. Guy is one of a kind and an absolute beast
The intro was amazing and brilliant.
He's got one of the most unique techniques at playing -- he goes from using a pick to plucking strings like a banjo = awesome.
It's amazing how much George Lynch still works. His workload is off the charts and still making great music.
KXM is completely fresh and creative!
One of the very few “Supergroups” that actually delivered.
Best all around guitar player left from that era. Love him or not, each project he takes on shows off another side of his playing. And somehow he just keeps getting better with age.

@@GetzGoth Duke..where is...your father!!!
Sir George doesn't play the guitar... He attacks and Man handles it. Love his unorthodox style.
that dude is so damn good
"Mr Scary" for real
I'm looking at all douches comments saying how he's not playing well, some people are so annoying,it's not his best vid ever but he's still killing it,seriously go get lives, this guys a champion of music, sold millions, still making records, doing clinics, ripping it,George is great, get lives seriously

George always goes for it.. so much feeling...
George is not sloppy!!! George is a Volcano GOD!!
Right from the beginning it was so beautiful
george still has his touch!
Amazing. Thanks.
One of the greatest
Loved GL since I was 13. Pure talent.
Wow... incredibly expressive. Fierce and fearless... I don't get the "sloppy" comments, or even people saying "he's 65".... that's doing his playing prowess an injustice!
Yeah I think he sounded good the whole time
George is pure energy. Nothin else....
Just once, I'd like to be able to watch a show without a freaking field of cell phones stuck up in everyone's face.
Indiscriminance of course this was probably recorded by one of those cell phones stuck up in everyone’s face.... lol
Just once, I'd like to be able to watch any UA-cam video about live metal without someone complaining about phones like a bitch. It's 2019, live with it.
If you took away the phone would you be watching or listening to this show at all?
The beginning is so amazing
One wickedest guitarist still living and kicking ass fuck loved George playing since late 70s
Unique - fabulous creativity
G. Lynch is Always an interesting musician to take in.Seen him 4 times since '98 & can't wait for number 5.
He was pretty good back in '83 too!
GREAT expressionistic PLAYING and grooving
I LISTEN GEORGE LYNCH EVERY SINGLE DAY....IS A A VER Y COMPLETE GUITAR PLAYER, HE GOT ALL STYLES... THE BEST...
So good!
George Lynch is awesome
His technique is out of this world. Great and very unique
George, humble as ever making everyone others skills look like a joke,a true Messiah.
Dude doesn't even know how to spell the word humble. Biggest fucking asshole on the face of the Earth!
Everybody's a critic, George keeps creating and you non-guitfiddlers don't get it, he pulled off the miracles in the studio, ain't dat good enough. I'm glad he's still out doin' what he loves, love watchin' you jam George.

Hey, he's playing my guitar -- wait no -- I play his guitar -- and what a beauty it is. LYNCH MOB ROCK ON !!!!
Lynch does his own thing like , all business. I enjoy his work.
Damn George...you rule bro!!!!
The man is f&@$!%# shred monster and always has been one of my favorites🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
George Lynch is the reason I started playing bass. 😆
I want that guitar!
He's a fucking GOAT of a player 😈🙏
He's definitely got his own thing going on these days.... very different, but he makes it look very fluid yet accidental at the same time.
One of a kind.
UNBELIEVABLE that this guy is almost 63! He is like the Thomas "big boy" Magnum of Rock!
That is a great guitar player 🎸
Would it be too crazy to call George the Jeff Beck of 80's guitar work?! Videos like this give it a strong case.
wow! Maestro
He's very unique, he's definitely becoming more like Jeff Beck with all the whammy bar stuff...phenomenal player.
AWESOME brother..much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO
So this is better than the solos in the "structured" Dokken songs of the 80's? Okay, whatever I guess. Long live the 80's Lynch solos.
we need to see more HS guitars...
Bending the strings,sweet!
No music theory knowledge just off the cuff playing . Incredible player
George played more bluesy than technical.I like this is his best performances I've seen lately more bluesy stuff is what George should play more of
I really love "Cry of the Gypsy"
Dokken's song "Bullets to Spare" may not the toughest song (even I can play it) but it's one the coolest in my opinion.
I don’t care how good a shredder someone is, they don’t/can’t sound like George. He’s about as original as they get. ✌️
Really dig his playing with KXM.
Love the backing track, what's the song?
The geatist!!!
Great to see George still going strong! . Glad people told him the backing track was too loud in the first tune.
Ok. Saw the same amp in the KXM Scatterbrain vid. 'METZ' is that right? Can't find any info on these.
I've been friends with the guy who makes it for years. His name is John Metz. It's one of his side projects. The guy is hella talented himself on the guitar and managed to get the MAN to take his amp with him.
Old georgie boy still got the chopps
George was a master monster in dokken 'beast from the east'...and a glacial velocity train wreck ever since.
George has his own sound and style I can allways pick out from the others. Not many can do that.
This is really cool - what song is this?

Mitch Martinico Yeah man is freaking 65 you could have his Social Security now the guy is a bad ass I don’t remember 65-year-old looking like that
The speech of George´s guitar is something like 'go out and set you free'. Others just know to say 'go home and practice another guitar technique'...
Mike 68 Shred one will allow you to do the other in a sense. but I get what your saying.
ギターの神だ!
Is somebody know what's his neck pickup please?
Playback is louder than the solo... I could see some of Vai´s technique in his way of playing, too.
Cell phones and social media: Destroying everything this insanely talented is doing
Kind of how we're watching though. :p
