George lynch was one of the best all around players in the 80s. His riffs & rhythms were so melodic yet powerful and dirty it was always a joy to listen to him. I loved the way he flowed from rhythm to lick to lead and back. I wish he would write songs like he used to.
Notice Lynch doesn't let go of that guitar haha. You know they gave it to him, and that makes me.....really jealous. Great guitars and a Great Musician.
First one says "kami" meaning "God" and the second one says "kaze" which means wind. "God wind" refers to the Typhoon that wiped out Kublai Khan's fleet when he attempted to invade Japan from Korea. The "divine wind" that saved the Japanese in the 16th century.
Scott Patterson I was about to come on here and write exactly what you wrote! I stopped the video after he said that to come on here and write that! But you had already beat me to it! So f****** funny!
I'd say he is the only shredder I ever liked. He shreds with purpose - or when it serves it's purpose. Love his style. Very recognizable, Where Steve Stevens has probably one of the, if not the most precise picking technique of all famous guitar players, George's string attack always seems to come a split second late but never out of rhythm. It might be due to combo of his picking technique and the sound he generates on his guitars. It gives his playing very unique timing and sound when put together with the rest of the band (any band he plays or has played). A very well rounded man and musician with passion to be matched
My LTD EC-1000 came with action that was so ow and buzz free I still can't believe it. You can barely see the strings move to the fret but clear with no fret buzz. Excellent guitar and it's the entry level line... Great to see them get set up.
My parents made a deal with me back in may and they said if I learn to play guitar good enough they would buy me a Kami-Kazi guitar. In 2 months i was able to play good enough then I annoyed my parents to the point they got me the guitar
ESP workers are so kind! I have talked with Todd Binder! He’s awesome! That’s why they have a lot of artists, because they’re kind to their artists! #ESPRules
they ALL are nowadays.comes with age and the realization that theres bucketloads of stratospherically talented young pickers of all ages nipping at their heels
That same Kami-Kaze set of Kanji was on Dez's headband and I asked him the same thing~ he said "Air God", but most WWII historians translated it "Divine Wind" -reminds me of the early 80's footage of George playing "Air Guitar" with a Kramer Softcase (and bending the headstock for the 'Dive')!
I remember that video. It was Jeff and George in a hotel room being silly jokin around makin a commercial with Jeff doing commentary. Deep knee bends and heavy metal faces. Lol.
Thanks for Sharing,George. When I moved out to Cali. I was Living in Van Nuys and after I moved back home I come to find out ESP Guitar Company was on Van Owen,Just a couple Blocks from where I was Staying..If I Knew that Now I would Have went their and applied for a JOB,Atleast until I got my music out and Heard,But hey I'm doing that Now in the Studio working to get my music perfected!
George, my eternal idol, the shirt you rocking is a killer. It's from an organized fans from the Brazilian soccer team that won last year's National Championship, and I'm obviously a fan of theirs. The #CAM on the back and on the skull in front means #ClubeAtleticoMineiro, which is the team's name. Representing.
i was a student in 89 at guitar masters studied with mike of riot. george was about to have guest teacher . i dig metal, now i am going 40+yrs but my most wow time was meeting ozzy n zakk/bls
Mine is also a viper esp🎸. I fell in love with it the very first time I played it and so I bought and I’ve had it for eleven years. A $675.00 guitar I bought brand new for &200.00 and I was just not about to pass that up 🎸🎸🎸
I'm sure the guy's setup is excellent but while shipping around the world climates and humidity have a huge role in the way a guitar plays. I had a EVH shipped to me and when it got here it was perfect but over time I had to make adjustments and even knock sharp fret edges off (the neck wood had lost moisture and shrunk).
Tilen Sapač The EP is a really inexpensive download. Kill All Control is pretty nice too. The Lynch Mob's Sound Mountain Sessions is another great EP too!
Mr. Lynch, I was a fan of yours until I seen this video. That snide comment you made concerning Capitalism and labor that turned me off big time. I had been listening to your music since I first heard you playing with dokken back in 82 or 83. I served 20 years in the U.S. military. Your guitar playing provided an escape from some shitty times in my military career and I thank you for that. You are very talented guitar player, top shelf in my prior opinion but that's over. I can NOT stand with the demoncRAT/leftist/socialist so this is why I come to a parting of the ways. I gathered up all my dokken and lynch mob cd's and snapped them in half and put them in the recycle toter. I've gotten rid of many movie dvds and music cds out of my collections where political comments have been made by actors & musicians. Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. I just don't understand why actors/musicians/etc. won't keep their mouths shut when it comes to politics. Knowing by voicing their political opinions they will alienate 1/2 of their fan base as you have done me. Why kill the goose that lays golden eggs with political views but that is your right to do so as it is the right of all Americans (which I feel is about to change drastically if the demoncRATS get complete control of the government). If I was in the entertainment field I would simply say my political views are my own and let it go at that. socialism would've never allowed you to become a millionaire but Capitalism did. If you feel so bad about the laborers in society then why don't you donate some of your millions to help them out. Put your money where your mouth is. Let them enjoy the fruits of your labor. Thx for the ride through the years! It was fun but the ride is now over and in the past. socialism = "The Kiss of Death." I leave you with this quote: “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” - Winston S. Churchill
Wish I had jumped on a high end ESP when they were in the 2 K range vs the 4 K range now. Inflation is screwing everything up now I get it, but double the price overnight was ridiculous.
I hope they gave him the guitar he was carrying. There is some serious bonding happening to that slab of wire and wood. George, you live the dream while still being a true human being.
Hi George I want to jam with you....pipe deram. I'm a drummer. My leg is cut off. Dang. I knew dug few years ago. Lynch Mob, Kxm and all your other ventures are inspiring, enthusiastically positive and your just a cool dude. (Crying) no leg...no drums...ahhhhhhhh I'm going crazy! Enough about me. You you you....Rock n Roll Mr. Lynch Have an awsome time! Oh man.... yeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!
When it comes to price, ESP is the Gibson of hard rock guitars. Insane prices. The LTD Kamikaze is has been discontinued for several years. Makes no sense to me. They sell.
Has anyone played or owned any of the high end ESPs? How does ESP compete with Guitars in the same price range? Does anyone have an opinion on the ESP Kirk Hammett model(s).?
well this might help it might not but i own an ltd 7 string which is pretty good sounding and from what i have tried at the store they have a better crunch than most brands like i take one off the rack and play it and then put it back and pick up like a fender or something it doesn't sound as heavy and i have tried a kirk hammett model with the caution sticker and it sounds really good as well now either this helps or it doesn't but i personally prefer esp and ltd over all other brands just because of the sound and price
All ESP guitars are made at the fujigen plant. Fugigen is one of the best guitar builders on the planet for mass produced guitars. Like Ibanez, ESP has never actually built anything. Hoshino is another high end mass guitar builder out of japan.
I think if you haven't bought one yet you will find that the LTD is almost the same as the ESP for a fraction of the cost. LTD also has more options in colors and pickups. I have a Ltd and love it. Can't beat the quality of these guitars.
I've played I think 3 ESPs and they were absolutely amazing. But in my opinion, The high end LTDs sounded a little bit better. Now that could just be because of the particular models I compared and the rig I played through at the guitar shop but they all played great, from the high end Japanese made ESPs down to the entry level $200 LTDs.
I know what he speaks of about guitars back in the 70's and 80's. If the guitar was playable and sounded great it cost way out of your price range and was dipping into college funds. I was first given to me a piece of crap old 1" thick body HORRIBLE guitar! I hated it and I lived so far from a music shop in Las Vegas that if I broke more than a string a month on that old string breaker. I had to play with what string I had left for that month. Yes Las Vegas was not like it now. Vesley's music was far down town. I had to build me a guitar I spent years on learning how to play. It actually looked horrible but it played so fucking well! I wish I still had that "Thrasher" guitar that I called it. I only have a picture of it now sitting next to me sleeping. Damn George thanks for taking me back 35 years. But thanks for also helping bring guitars to what they are today.
WOW!! Great mix! Loud music! hardly heard George and the camera work was fleeting as it passed all of the guitars so no one got a good look at those either. Good stuff!

Seems like a top bloke, humble, talented, still young and excited about gear!
George was always a humble and nice guy.
Was?
George Lynch representou demais, Galo Metal na veia!
Matou a pau.

That fucking fire gatur that he had is worth alot of money in the 80s when he was with dokken
Such a humble guy,George is the reason and evh is also the reason I grabbed a guitar

Haha I know him! He used to work at the Carvin Hollywood store and now works for ESP. Really nice guy.
George: 'If I hold it long enough they will think it's mine. Hmmm yes, very good.'
haha
john jones Im going to try that at Guitar Center and see if it works.
@@LONEWOLF-um6tp it does when you're George Lynch :D
ESP doesn't have any real shredders so they had to go out and buy one. Lol. It took me a minute to get that one.
Me too :) Good joke, though.
Scott Patterson I was about to come on here and write exactly what you wrote! I stopped the video after he said that to come on here and write that! But you had already beat me to it! So f****** funny!
My dad has Marshall Ibanez with Marshall amps
So cool to see my hero wearing a t-shirt from my team!
A maior torcida metal do mundo, viva a Galo Metal! #GaloMetal
I literally live a couple of blocks away from the ESP factory.
And I also have to say that this man is one of the most badass shredders I have ever heard 🎸🤘😎
I'd say he is the only shredder I ever liked. He shreds with purpose - or when it serves it's purpose.

George always had the fanciest guitar! Awesome clip.

EC-1000 isn't entry level. It's a higher end model that comes immediately before you get into the ESP Eclipse.
Lynch is one of a kind. Great tone and style
cool shop. nice Ace Frehley t-shirt to the tech.

I like how he just walks around with that Tele style that he wanted like they're not getting it back anyway.
I was a 16 year old guitarist in 1988. Dokken was one of the hair bands I never saw live. Always wished I had
My ESP is also a Viper apple red. All it took was just one time playing it for just a few minutes and I bought it that day

yeah kirks esp definitely plays better when its not in his sloppy hands
