I own the Pro and have to say they are a very good peace of gear. I have one problem the first time I switch on my reverb it pops like a tank reverb sounds but after the first time it stays silent. I just turn the board on first and switch the reverb on and off before I power my amps. I can set the switcher up for a wet/dry/wet amp set up useing the Tuner switch for the dry amp and run pedals on its line. Or you could run a series of pedals on each loop. I have a OD and EQ on one loop. My pedals and the switcher are ran off three one spots one for the switcher one for digital pedals and one for analog.
Well done video. I am in the market for a loop switcher and trying to make my mind up with function vs. cost in mind.. Touch decision... Thanks for doing the video. Phil NYC / Jersey Shore Area
Hope you still monitor these video comments. GREAT vid BTW!!!! Thanks! OK, I have the Pro. Easy enough. No issues programming the LOW side. 1 2 3 NP. BUT, I get nothing out of the HI side! Like it's in bi-pass. Just amp sound. I can program it fine, choose pedals, etc. But the pedals have zero effect. SO to verify it's not a pedal or cable issue, I switched 2 pedals using same cables, one from LO over to HI, with one that was in HI. Now the pedal that was in LO does not work. But pedal that was in HI works fine. I'm not using effects loop. So all 8 are in line.
Late to the party...but: Just to be clear - for "8 loops in line" you go Guitar -> "In" and "Loop Out2" (!) -> out to the input of your amp! For programming (or for jamming) you first got to select a bank (number 1-8) and either a place A,B,C,or D after firing up. Then you press "mute" long enough to get into "edit" mode. The display should read "EL" for "Edit Low" - meaning, now you can edit (switch on or off) the low loops 1 to 4. with the footswitches A to D. But If it reads something different, then use the "Bank+/Bank-" switches, UNTIL it reads "EL"! Now for reaching the loops 5 to 8 use those bank up/down switches again, until display reads "EH" for High Loops. This time the four footswitches A to D do correspond to the high loops: A switching loop 5, B switching loop 6, C switching loop 7... - you get the idea! To just leave edit mode: Tap "Mute". To leave edit mode AND STORE your edits to this preset (you had chosen at the beginning, like 1A or 7C - for instance) tap and hold "Mute" for longer than one second. Have fun!
Nice video. I'm looking at various switchers that don't break the bank for now and for the price this seems pretty cool from what I've seen on youtube.
I use it as a manual looper the other way you said, I go to edit mode and I turn off all the loops in the joyo with all the pedals on, and I go pushing the switches as I need them. Cheers!
Hi, great video! I'm wondering if it's possible to turn on individual pedals using their own foot switch despite them still being connected to the switcher. For example like how you have the phaser, I'm wondering if you can use still turn it on and off with its foot switch even though it is connected to the switcher and get the phase sound. Thanks
Hey there- if it’s going through the switcher thing you need to have that loop selected or engaged in the preset that you’re on- if it is then you can turn the phaser pedal on or off on the pedal itself. It’s meant to be used with all pedals on.
Not sure if anyone has gone deep into this product but the manual does not mention if the 1/4 jacks are TS or TRS? I have the black edition pedal and always wondering since some rack effect units are TRS balanced outputs.
I often read comments saying switch are noisy? Any truth with that? I have a EHX Silencer pedal and I don’t like that switch bec you need to hear a “click or snap” sound.. I have a Providence Preamp pedal and switch is like a butter smooth you’ll feel insecure or uncertain a bit if on or off have to look at the LED 😂 because it doesn’t give you that “click” sound. So that’s both extremes, how’s this Joyo switch like?
Hey there! Sorry it’s actually been a while since I’ve owned it now haha. If I remember correctly it was pretty clicky of a switch, it wouldn’t go through your amp like some pedals do but I’d say it’s similar to electroharmonix pedals. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the video. How did you determine it pulls 500ma? The manual states 240ma which will work on the 5 or 6 spot on the voodoo pp2+ at 250ma. If it truly is 500, I'll need the y cable.
jcarb001 No worries, honestly I don’t really remember, I believe it was in the manual. I have some pedals that claim to be 500ma and run find on the pp2+ 5 and 6 spots. It won’t hurt the pedal if you try, if it is true 500ma it just wont work. Could be worth a google
Thanks for the video, do you have any clue why my Joyo makes terrible popping sound between presets ? Im using two power supply for the 14 pedals on the board. They are good quality power. Im considering giving an exclusive power just for the joyo
Hi Omar. Thanks for the video. Where would you put the ISP Decimator G String here or how would you connect it? Really confusing stuff for me. I’m old school. Thanks.
Daniel Pestana hey man. If you’re going straight from this into the input of your amp, this pedal needs a specific loop, right after your distortion pedals or gain pedals and before and mod. If you are using the efx loop and dedicating the first 4 loops to before the amp, second 4 for the efx loop (explained in video), put this pedal in between the joyo and your amps efx loop insert. Hope this helps!
Omar Gear Review Thank you so much for your reply and help. I have no distortion or gain pedals. I really wanted to get this, but it’s really confusing. I have 5 pedals connected to the front of the amp and two pedals connected to the FX Loop of the amp, and at their core I have the ISP Decimator G String. So, 5 pedals in the front, I would have to connect two that would activate simultaneously, right?
Hey great demo I have a question - i recently bought the iso stomp controller and I use a flyrig(amp less ) do I run controller into flyrig or visa versa ? Not sure what way to route everything it’s doing my head in . Thanks Omar 😊
thanks for the video. look, is it possible to change the pedals order on different presets? or the signal goes from right to left? for exemple: OD > dellay on preset 1 and dellay>OD on preset 2. thanks
Gledison Fonseca thanks for the comment. No, it cannot. It’s a budget one for sure. It still works great, built like a rock but rudimentary in a lot of ways. The boss ones look WICKED, they have a built in gt10 or gt100 so you have a ton of efx in it as well as using your own pedals
Hey, cool video. So if I understand, only the first four pedal loops would go into the send/return chain (to amp) and the second group of 4 runs straight to the last output, bypassing the fx loop?
Felix Blacksher so your first four pedals (right to left) would go out loop one out into the input of your amp, the next four woild go out loop two out into the return of your amps efx loop and then you"d need to go out the efx send from your amp to loop two in. Alternatively you would go from loop two out to the input of your amp putting all your pedals infront of the amp
Do you experience any popping sound when engange the pedals especially on reverb and delay? My effects are rv 5 and dd20.. and there's a popping sound on my soulfood drive but there are no popping soind when engaging ocd or mxr eq. Any idea what may cause that popping sound? Thanks omar!
deni santoso hey there, it’s almost definitely your power supply. I had that happen for years with my pedals and I couldn’t figure out why. They’re struggling for mA. Best way to confirm is to plug them in one at a time, no daisy or anything just straight from the power supply to see if that changes anything. I use voodoo labs for everything and it hasn’t let me down.
Thank you for the info, so you mean that it's the mA for the joyo? never thought about that.. ok i'll try to switch the power cord to the higher mA on my power supply. Btw i'm using vitoos dc 8
akoy iyo no they cant work together like that. What ive do e before is out a couple pedals in once chain. So send 8 would go to a delay and reverb then back into return 8. When you engage that loop you send the pedal to the two pedals. Hope this helps

You may already know but in case you don’t the 1 spot pro power supplies have 500mA output slots
Thanks good review! still thinking if I need one or not.. maybe depends on songs you’re going to play, those with drastic changes in fx.

You are missing one big chunk of information. What about STEREO pedals?
So can you change to the clean channel and also set it to activate the delay woth the one switch?

@@theostragonidis7548 I just don't use a switcher anymore. As far as switchers go I think the pxl is decent but I just don't use switchers anymore.
@@OmarGearReview I see, thanks for your reply. Why did you decide not to use a switcher? I can't imagine myself playing live without one.
Does it allow you to stack pedals?
