Hi just wondering are you running the lexicon through the fx loop of the gsp? I have a gmajor and I put it through the fx loop of the gsp and have the gsp going into the return of my amps fx loop. I'm not getting any sound though when I have the gmajor hooked up through the gsps fx loop. Just wondering if you would be able to help me out. Thanks man. Great videos as always!
Hi Sean. Unfortunately I've changed setup so I can't say for sure, but I think I had the Lexicon in the FX loop so it should work OK. Can't think of a reason why it wouldn't.
Very useful video, thanks. One question-where do the MIDI devices appear in the chain off effects? Are they always after the 8 integrated loops? Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. Any devices connected only via MIDI will not be in the chain, as no audio is sent via MIDI. For example say I was using my Lexicon into the front of the amp I would connect it into one of the 8 integrated audio loops (almost certainly the last one in the chain, because it's delay/reverb) via audio cables. I would also connect the MIDI cable to it which would control the program change. So the JOYO would connect to the Lexicon via two audio cables and one MIDI cable. I hope that answers your question. I have a MIDI controlled EQ using this setup so I might do a video showing how that is configured to help illustrate this.
Hi, I had a big issue with pxl live controlling my Marshall JVM 215C. I stored the different modes on bank 1 (a,b,c,d) using the instructions in the ampli guide But some channels can't be stored. If I store one more mode, than the pxl changes the preset that I stored before overwriting on it and assigning the same JVM mode to the previous preset I had stored before....
AFAIK that amp can use midi Program Change messages to store presets as well as just changing them, so that may be your issue. The Joyo handles midi in a fairly standard fashion so I'd look at the amps settings for a solution. HTH.
Paolo Napolitano No. I don't know in detail how that amp works, but the Joyo is designed to work with as many bits of equipment as possible. The amp is primarily designed to work with its own footswitch, so I'd look there first.
Hi nice explanation! Have you experience any kind of issue with the presets in terms of midi and triggers? I have read from a lot of users that after a couple of months of use, when making changes in the first presets (bank 1) in terms of midi configuration, it also changes the configuration in the lower presets (bank 6 for example). I was thinking on buying one but I don´t want to waste my money cause I'll be using it mostly for changing presets on the mobius and timeline. Thanks for your time
i have the same doubt, Nahim... i would like to buy the same controller rather than spend more than 600€ for advanced systems, but i have read a comment about PXL8 does not maintain all saved midi patches in memory. Is that true? Did you conclude with your purchase already?
Edit High loop (loops 5-8) and Midi Active. NA edits the midi message when the patch is active and NB edits the midi message when the patch is inactive.
Yes you can in theory - provided that you only want to send program change or continuous control (CC#) messages. It's not the best solution for this, though, IMHO, not least because you'd need some sort of MIDI to USB conversion to connect it to your PC/Mac.
The only useful video about MIDI programming on JOYO that I could find in YT
Glad it was helpful 🙂
You are a great instructor. Thanks so much for this.
Thanks my friend, you help me a lot.
Glad it helped!
Nice explanation! Thanks!
You're welcome :-)
Hi nice explanation. Is it possible to control loops switching by MIDI? (if want to combine my helix and nonMIDI pedals): Thx. Jarda
I don't believe so, no.
how many midi devices can it control via pc at the same time on the same preset
Really useful, thanks.
Glad it helped. Thanks for the feedback. :-)
Hi, i need to midi control 2 h9 and a source audio eq, can this do that?
No reason that it shouldn't. It uses standard midi protocol.

Do you know How the JVM series works? So do you think it's not a matter of Joyo working bad?
Paolo Napolitano No. I don't know in detail how that amp works, but the Joyo is designed to work with as many bits of equipment as possible. The amp is primarily designed to work with its own footswitch, so I'd look there first.
thank you....
mine makes a loud pop when I switch presets. any idea how to fix that?
Best ask JOYO for help with that. I've never had that issue, so wouldn't know the cause unfortunately. Sorry.

I've not noticed that, but I'm only using MIDI on Banks 1-3.

I've had the PXL Live for 5 years, and gigged with it for nearly a year of those. I have yet to run into any problems. Has always been reliable.
What's "EH" and "NA"?
Edit High loop (loops 5-8) and Midi Active. NA edits the midi message when the patch is active and NB edits the midi message when the patch is inactive.
can we use this to control software/plugins like BIAS FX or basic functions of a DAW?
Yes you can in theory - provided that you only want to send program change or continuous control (CC#) messages. It's not the best solution for this, though, IMHO, not least because you'd need some sort of MIDI to USB conversion to connect it to your PC/Mac.
The Hont If it does then it's an added advantage to the PXL Live. Basically, I want to control BIAS FX for patch and bank changes.
Well AFAICT that would work, but but be aware I haven't tried it. Might be worth asking JOYO's support if they can confirm it works.
The Hont Thanks man, yeah I think that would be the right thing to do.
