    Wow man great great job they look fricking amazing..question so when you reached that point of being finished with painting what's the next step do you use any kind of sealant so they can be washed when cage cleaning day comes?? Juat woundering because I'm sure at some point they will have to be taken out of the enclosure and cleaned...but again fantastic job its awsome.....

    Awesome video, what do you use to seal it when all the painting is done?

    • @EdenEnclosures
      @EdenEnclosures  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! So, there is lots of options for sealing, but the epoxy itself is sealed and water proof. The paint I use (Ecos paints) doesn't need to be sealed, per the manufacturer. The problem with sealers is most are way too glossy. Great for under water but not as good for natural look in vivariums. Polygem does make some clear epoxy. You can use polycrylic, or any non toxic sealer though. It doesn't have to be expensive.

    I would think PVC pipe and a heat gun would be easier.
    What are you using to make the bark texture and design?

    THIS WAS AMAZING!! If I wanted to make one to place in a fish tank, would I have to seal it?

      Tou could use epoxy for that. The shine of that stuff though....

    Hi, great tutorial, thank you! To make this aquarium safe could i spray seal it with clear Plasti Dip? As this would be perfect even doing one but with poly pipe so it is hollow for fish. Trying to find something safe. Thanks.

      I think you could use an epoxy to seal it for a fish tank. I know this is a bit of a late response, but I have seen a few rock structures that have been sealed with epoxy for fish tanks. Have to rinse everything properly, and find the right epoxy etc, but it could work.

    do you think it could hold a heavy 30lbs boa constrictor?

    • @EdenEnclosures
      @EdenEnclosures  3 роки тому

      If you built it the right way, yes. If it were me, I would counter drill each piece of Dowel and glue in a smaller dowel to hold them together. Lots of glue. Really can't over do it. Then nail/screw it really well too. If you can attach the branch to 2-3 points in the enclosure it also helps immensely to stiffen it up.

    Wouldn't it be cheaper to use real branches ? After all the materials you purchased and made in the video...each branch will cost you $200 !

    • @EdenEnclosures
      @EdenEnclosures  3 роки тому +2

      They didn't cost me anywhere near $200. Not sure where you're getting your numbers. Most my branches, even large ones, are under $50. I also build enclosures for a living so a jar of paint will last me for 50 branches. If you are building one, 12" long branch, then it's probably not cost effective. It's also not always easy to find the exact branch you want or need. If I want it to go a certain way, or fit a certain space, it's easier to build it than go searching for the perfect branch. It's also sealed, so it won't rot and urine won't set in it. This, like anything, the value comes down to the end user. Nobody said you can't use real branches or that you have to make them. Some people just enjoy building things.
