I think it would be cool to see you analyze your favourite techno track, visualize it(in the same manner) and talk about the structure and tricks used in the track :)
Switching from singer/songwriter style to more electronic music I was literally waiting for years for someone to make a video with explanation like this. Awesome job
Same!! This makes so much sense. It was so hard to get out of verse/chorus mode, and I found myself doing “anti chorus” where the energy dropped… and now I see why!
i must confess watching your channel that you made for the electronic music and our culture more than a major part of modern electronic artists. sharing your knowledges here you keep the real dance timeless music alive. cheers!
To me, this is one of the most useful-and possibly THE most useful-music production-related videos I’ve ever seen! And I’ve seen way too many! Thank you, Oscar!
When I see Oscar I’m sure it’s Monday and I know I’m going to have a good week. Thanks again to its great Foundation of Electric Music 1 & 2!!! I’m looking forward to the 3rd ;-)
THANK YOU FOR THE VISUAL GUIDE!!! Arrangement is definitely my biggest weakness. I've watched tons of vids on it so most of these concepts aren't new but seeing the changes sketched out definitely helps. Will try the drawing method to make a 'rough draft' of clips and ideas
I just wanted to thank you for all of the work you do. I ran into your UA-cam channel and then purchased the industrial techno course. I still feel like I can't produce shit, but I had virtually 0 experience before and you're one of a very few people out there that make complicated things sounds not overwhelming, which makes me feel like I'm getting there. Keep it on!
one of the most helpful videos I ever watched, i found myself multiple times struggling with how to do the arrangement and make it more structured thanks!! :)
I find your video very interesting. I have never actually thought about it this way, except to put my main good loop in the middle. This concept is very brilliant to avoid making boring tracks. I find that arrangement is crucial and it's the area I struggle the most. Thanks good work!
I recently went to a rave party in a a small hall, I thought it was gonna be mediocre and boy was i wrong. I was so blown by how these guys were playing, . I never even in the past heard a dj keep the energy and momentum so perfectly balanced, no dull moments yea I'll say that again no dull moments not one, no one left the people that kept coming in staying and didn't leave everybody was dancing or moving. I could help to think very soon someone with big pockets is gonna pick these guys up and offer them a contract.
Perfect inspiration cooked down to the point where I need it! I always find myself with a really nice 4 bar groove, but I'm unable to write a good story without either killing the groove or overdoing it with tons of layers. If you have more knowledge or inspiration about tomb and percussive heavy but minimal grooves that would be very welcomed. Keep up the good work ma man
The video this channel should (in my perfect imaginary world) have started with! Thank you so much for this ♥ A lot of different ideas might feel too much from a youtube creator perspective but for us who are trying to add as many tools as possible to our toolbox it's perfect!
Reminds me of Jeff mills the bells I was listening too the track today trying too think of old but gold tunes so still very fresh in my mind love your videos bro your vids always inspire me such a pleasure always thankyou. ☮❤💪🙂
This video came up for me at the right time, as I’ve been plotting out concepts for some tracks in a similar fashion (only sometimes I actually use staff paper since I’m comfortable with notation).
Just love this approach, Oscar. Simple, but effective. I'm currently stuck in an arrangement avoidance cycle. I love making little loops and EQing it, but then i just cannot face arranging it!!! It's so frustrating, and i have a feeling this might have just helped me overcome that Peace, Love and Sweaty Raver Hugs Mike
Fantastic video! Thank you for being so generous with your time and knowledge. You have succinctly captured such a breadth of information, absolute gold, keep up the great work!
This is an excellent and concise description of techno arrangement. Very timely as I'm working on this very thing now for live construction of techno set. Super awesome. Thank you!
