I was fortunate enough to drive the NC500 just 2 weeks after taking delivery of a new GR Yaris. The combination of car and roads were spectacular. I also had a very patient pregnant lady sat next to me the whole time, who didn't flinch once despite the accent of the applecross being thick with fog. Great memories. Great video!
Thanks for watching Andrew!
Me and my mate did the NC500 in his Clio 172. Its an incredible trip. Scotland is beautiful and its somewhere i hope to return to one day. It was a long drive up from Suffolk.
A very long drive from Suffolk! You should definitely do the trip again. Thanks for watching :)
This was so much fun!!!
I drove most of the routes blind, and they were picked by producer Louis -

2. Ardvreck castle to Kylesku Bridge maps.app.goo.gl/Bpt1CSj1o5BGHDoP9 to maps.app.goo.gl/7KeY96ntyLifNPyMA
3. Old Military road Braemer maps.app.goo.gl/Tqmc7Pg6yQ5q783x8 to view point at: maps.app.goo.gl/UpHDM4SnbTZCSom36
I'd rate them 2-3-1 enjoy!
You sound just like your dad !
He left the best parts of The Old Military Road out
I'm looking forward to driving it again in a couple of months
Did a circuit of the UK back in 2000 in a VW Polo of all things, you would think you'd get bored, but no way, the fantastic scenery and amazing roads through Wales, Lake District and Scotland especially, made up for any lack of horses. I expect now it is too highly travelled by cars and tourists in vans so next time it'll be the motorbike for me. 👍
That sounds amazing!
I got this in my recommended videos, and I’m so happy I watched it! Awesome video👏🏼
We're glad! Thanks for watching.
Did the whole NC500 back in 23 and would massively recommend doing the whole thing
What do you think of the new video?
Let us know if you'd love to take on this ultimate road trip 🏔
Did the NC500 in 2021 with 22 mates in other cars ... took my F430, which was too much for some of the roads tbh ... planning to return soon with GT4 or Spyder
@@BritishBeefy That sounds amazing 👏

Done it last year in my C63 with 8 mates. It was unreal. Otherworldly views that camera just cannot portray. It's a must trip and one I'll be repeating many, many times.
Fabulous Alex. Really interesting . 👍 Just like driving From Lynn to Sutton Bridge and back 😀
This popped up on my feed for the first time yesterday. I'm really glad I watched it. The roads look incredible. My mate took a group up a few years ago from South Devon and he said it was great and now I see what he was talking about. I think this has to go on the list. Certainly looks a bit more interesting than Dartmoor!
Thanks for watching Ian! We have lots more videos like this if you'd like to subscribe :)
@adrianflux yep, subscribed straight away!

Wow , Jealous , i need to do that route , looks awesome! love it keep em coming!
It was absolutely unreal! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the journey. I'm planning to do this at a sedate pace at some point in the next couple of years. Take the Land Cruiser, my Scottish Deerhounds, do some camping, hiking, visit some distilleries along the way, take it slow and just enjoy the experience and life along the way.
That sounds absolutely amazing 👍
Amazing route, always wanted to do it. I'd put reliability over power though (within reason). You don't want to break down up there!
Very true!
3:18 that’s just about the point where we had a herd of deer jump out in front of us many moons ago🤣 Driven up and down there a fair few times
Oh no! 😂 Such a great drive isn't it! Thanks for watching.
Brilliant (but I hope you're views don't go too high, as these are my local roads). As you say, the roads are not race tracks, but you can really enjoy it if you put the time in to anticipate the traffic on the single track roads, using the passing places. ALWAYS acknowledge the oncoming traffic with a wave (choose your style of wave). You will often find the 'Postie' is the fastest driver, with the best skills 😉
Totally agree! Thanks for watching.
My dream is to do it in a mk1 TT v6 roadster.
That would be AMAZING!
It’s ❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️🏴❤️
Would have been a lot better if someone else had done the commentary or even better with the sound off.
The first part of the road looks very bumpy and narrow. I don't mind if others can enjoy it but it's not exactly my cup of tea 😁
Not for the faint hearted!
@ what is the maximum speed you could enjoy on that road? I'm quite curious☺️
@ The national speed limit of 60mph applies, but it's definitely not an enjoyable speed you want to aim for!
There are lots of single track roads with passing places, so Alex made sure he was always travelling at the safest speed for visibility, stopping distance and road conditions.
Speaking to the people who run hotels on the route they are grateful for the extra business but the roads such as pass of the cattle are really becoming over-used and especially when campervans pass and cut into the verges, get punctures etc. There are many other great roads in Scotland but definitely do it at least once.
It's so important to be mindful when travelling these routes - they need to be preserved so future travellers can enjoy them! Thanks for watching and commenting Brian.
That’s hilarious. Sounds just like his father 😂
Much better on a bicycle, did it in September last year, wonderful...................shame about all those camper vans though, but drivers were to a man (and woman) really considerate to cyclists.
Pothole central and ur windscreen and paint will hate you.
Yea… much better just to stick to flat boring roads or better still, leave the car in the garage, that’s what they’re for eh ?
@@CR416 Flat and boring don't correlate id much rather go to a track where you don't have to look at the road every 2 seconds for potholes
Utterly utterlyness…
Pop the route you did pls down on here.👍
Will ask them to do this!
Started in Applecross, worked their way up to Kylesku Bridge and then down to Old Military Road. Kylesku is 3 hours north of Applecross and the trip up to it is stunning 🙌
