Hello Daniel, I am Ko Ko. I hope you are fine and busy everyday. Thanks for your great lessons. I am learning and taking action. I am sure and hope to get great result. By the way, I already tried to download your some free guide files from web page but didn't get reply message to my mail. Maybe something wrong. What should I do? Pls help. Thank you.
@@koaung9237 You're welcome. I'm sorry, I don't think I fully understand your comment. Could you please let me know which free guides you were trying to download? Are you saying that you entered your email address to download the free guides, but the guides were not sent to your email address?
Thank You Sir Dan. I much value your channel and find myself as a step Dad on a need of progress for my 3 step daughters. Being educated first is the 1st step for strong family values and I’m in 100% agreement to you, sensei 😊.
im having a challenging time getting my 13yr old grandson just to do basic chores like putting items in the trash or cleaning up behind himself. it so bad that we wind up fighing about simple things like washing a dish or cup my patience is wearing thin i am trying to find ways for him to open up to express why he feels like he does not have to help out around the house especially when its his mess.
I have the same issue with my kids. My 16 year old son is coming around, but my 13 year old son won't do anything. Part of the problem is I'm not consistent with asking them to do things at a particular time everyday. However my eldest is mowing the lawn which is great! I give him "currency" which means a monetary "worth" for completing the job and when he builds up enough currency, I'll buy him what he wants for the net worth if the work. So if he wants and item worth $200, he has to mow the lawn 10 times. Still working on the younger one.
He gets pocket money does he? Well surely it has conditions attached to it. These rewards resemble employer pay, it has work conditions attached. Prepare this young man for becoming a good spouse.
@a1cwillette I'm not giving him any money, actually. It's just the worth of the job. I have to tie some monetary value to a job so I don't have him asking for an item that cost $150 and he does nothing in the house to earn it in some way. I didn't get paid for mowing the lawn at home but I also did not have an issue with my parents buying something I really wanted.
My first time here and it seems as if you are speaking directly to me...the superpowers you have...haha. Thank you so much for the wealth of information which helps me with parenting. This is greatly appreciated.
Same here! It's so good to have this kind of support with being a parent. I'm a single mom of a 16-year-old son and I often feel like I don't know wtf I'm doing 😢.
As a teen, I can say that "good job" or "well done" can actually be really encouraging, especially when your parents don't always say that. I think it's important to have a balance here, cuz if I am unmotivated or burnt out, a "good job" after an achievable is something that helps me get back on my feet
Im 21 and in school i was always a straight a student. However my mom never said things like: good job and things like that cuz she was "used" to my good grades. But sometimes it wouldve really helped :") im now in university and whenever i get a praise from a professor or tutor it makes my day
I understand very well your parents. I am grown also in a family ( all their generation) that never said „well done“ or so..and I see that I make the same mistake also with my children. It is the problem that nobody has taught us. These videos are very helpful😊. And I wish you good luck in the university! And Great job!😉
I love your videos, I am keeping my teen siblings since the passing of my parents and OMG do i get frustrated sometimes......thanks for these helpful tips!
My son is a good kid but he’s not motivated to do anything if I don’t tell him to. How to approach? He’s 15 doesn’t make friends offline of his games doesn’t speak to anybody first, he’s an introvert. How can you teach them to be outspoken if they don’t catch on? 😊
Same here. He tells me that his best friend is a kid that used to be in the same swim team. They are close friends through the ps5. And that’s ok but whenever I ask him if he’d like to hang out with him he says he doesn’t want people over. I’m not buying it.
Very much helpful tips and I feel we dint know so much on this earth to raise a teenager. Appreciate your effort to give us the apt points. Thanks a ton Sir Daniel
I completely understand what you saying so far with this video. I see that my son has become outcome-oriented recently and I hope to changed this because he become anxious and depressed and missed a lot school. We are currently in counseling because of this individual and family. Your video has open my eyes to some my mistakes that I have made without meaning to. My son calls my nagging - yapping because he's a little jerk - I asking to do chores around the house he treats more like a suggests and complains that he "too busy or too tired" this including the days the he does not even go to school. I will be watching your video on Lazy Teenager and Getting Your Teenager out of Bed soon.
I NEED HELP IM SO DISGUSTED WITH MYSELF I KNOW IM NOT PERFECT BUT I KNOW I LOVE AND CARE SO MUCH FOR MY BABY GIRLS I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE OUT OR THE GIRLS TO LOSE OUT ON OUR FAMILY !! I HAVE FAITH IN OUR LORD AND SAVIOR! PLEASE PRAY FOR US!!
As a kiddo of a nagging parent who constantly used #4 I can vouch for this. This lasted my entire college career, and needless to say I never went to graduate school. 😅
Big thing for me when I was depressed teen was if you wanted me to do a chore or help, give me a time frame to get it done. Say "I would like help emptying the dishwasher today...could you do that sometime in the next 2 hours please?" That would make me feel way less resistant as I have more control.
Great advices! is practically what we do as parents our children, will learn , we are the role model , I need to change if I want changes in my teen! 😊
I work with teens daily. This is ridiculous! Lol I would be curious which studies you have to prove anything. Also, I can guarantee this will not work with any teen with behavioral issues.
My friend i dont know which planet you come from but what you are asking people to do is make the 17 year old be the parent and we the parent be the father.. that wont work
Dude, I just watched this video with my 12 year old son and we both agreed this is horrible advice. I have no clue what kind of new age garbage advice this is. And my 12 year old agrees with me.... For once

Thanks for sharing! Yes, I think if it's done in moderation, saying "good job" can definitely be encouraging.

Getting their chores done.

You've been coaching teens for 10 years.....well they di not behave and abuse you like they think the can do at home to their mother
If your teen is abusing you you should get therapy for yourself for how to handle it
Like that
